  1. Thanks Jake! How is your Supra doing? I bet you're looking forward to getting that diffuser? Thank you Westy, your black beauty is definitely something special... Thanks Adam, if only you lived around here, it's always nice to have a list of good detailers on hand! Coming from you, that really does mean a lot - thanks Ibrar and congratulations on putting up such fierce competition at your Supra's first show! Thanks Matt! I hope all is going well with your build, it looks as though you have a lot on your plate... Thanks Chris! Did I read right that your Dad has a Supra? Are you planning on getting one? They are certainly unique... I am very picky when it comes to seats and there weren't many that impressed me, thankfully I found these one-off gems! Thanks Abz, how is your Supra faring ?
  2. On Sunday I attended ToyotaFest 2012. It was the first time I have taken the Supra to a show/meet and as a result, I got the chance to meet some great people along with some very nice cars. It turned out to be a judged event, but to be honest, I was only going for the people and the experience. Regardless, the supra won some trophys and it was a dead heat for 4 other trophys which I was quite happy with given that I did not really prepare the car at all besides a detail and drove it there and back! Whilst I was hoping to take a lot of photos on the day, I was too busy chatting to people and so have had to rely on other peoples photography skills. Thank you to Nathan, the boys at Toymods and also the guys at EADC.net.au...
  3. Hi folks, For those who enjoy browsing through car photos or voting in competitions, I put mine into a local facebook comp! http://apps.facebook.com/ratemyride_iii/?app_data=173
  4. Admittedly not a huge update, but just to let everyone know the car is still alive and is doing very well. I recently decided to purchase a nicer battery, and so I went with a Stinger: Also the tyres have seen better days, so I decided to replace them with some new rubber. Here is a photo of them next to my neighbours Toyota Corolla... just a light difference in width?
  5. And people thought I was crazy getting all of the nuts & bolts chromed for m build, this is insane. Congrats on the dyno results too!
  6. Just when I thought it could not look any better... you pull out more chrome and yet somehow make the car look even more subtle but aggressive... great work!
  7. Ibrar: Apologies for just having gotten around to seeing this thread... What can I say, the build is shaping up to be an awe-inspiring project and I think the outcome will be jaw dropping looking at it thus far. As with hodges work, I have the utmost respect for your workmanship and the fact that you are doing so much of it yourself (not to mention that you are not just following trends, but are making it everything you want it to be) All the best, and I will look forward to the updates!
  8. Wow, that takes me back... Here is mine from a 94 GZ (Auto TT):
  9. Good decision Adam! When I got mine originally (before the BIG project started and I went with another choice), they were about 380GBP for the pair (~ 800 in total for both front and rear)
  10. Hi Adam, Unless you are just doing it for looks, I would stick with stock TT brakes (with new discs + pads) or go with a better known brand such as Brembo or Stoptech as these are all time proven to be great brakes, whereas the K-sport are quite well known as "cheap big brakes" or "ebay brakes".
  11. Hi Marc, I have had good experiences with autogeek.net, http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=29 also has a list of traders which may be close to you and is well worth looking at in terms of feedback and support.
  12. Great work Mike and Ryan! Almost 200hp @ 3500rpm (one of my favourite indications of a well setup, responsive Supra)
  13. I must admit, I have been pretty slack lately when it comes to updating my threads, but wow, thank you everyone! As kind as that is of you to say, there are many supras out there (including on the UK forums) that would give my supra a run for its money both in terms of looks and performance! Haha thank you. When you get your Supra, you will wonder how you ever did without one... they are just stunning cars to own. Approaching 20 years old as a car and it still makes you proud to own one. I would love to visit the UK, I am ashamed to admit it is one of the few places I have never visited... it's on my list though! Thanks again, I really do have to take some footage of my track runs (private and public). It is so much fun to drive, I forget to document said fun I have heard a LOT of exahusts, both on supras and other Japanese imports, and I am proud to say that I think the dual exhaust with cutout and the combination of engine and turbo setup is a real pleasure on the ears... not too raspy or burbly, not tinny, a well tuned grunt with a bit of rasp ala F1. Thanks Neil, your Soarer is quite a looker. In fact, I would have bought a Soarer, but after seeing my first Supra I just fell in love. I have always had a soft spot for well modded soarers (I find stock ones a little plain for my liking). I don't know about the best ever... people like Hodge and Jamie really make mine look quite average when it comes to getting their hands dirty, modding it themselves and pure dedication. p.s. I have been following your build - keep up the great work and all the best in the future with it! Hard work and treating myself. Work hard, play hard and you can have the chance to build the car of YOUR dreams too! If you ever are visiting AU, I would be more than happy to take you for a spin It is a LIFE SAVER around these parts... with the front bumper AND skirts being so low, if I attempted to go into any driveway without raising it, I know it would scrape (I have not even attempted to go into a driveway or over a hump without raising it... better safe than sorry!). It is the Top Secret Roberuta Cup Kit (there are knockoffs and other brands, but I wanted the genuine deal that they used on Lambos and Ferraris in Japan) Yes, I have been slack in updating *hangs head in shame*. In my defence, I have been enjoying it and completely forgotten about recording it! Thanks for the kind words though
  14. There are other sources for them, but I have had nothing but positive experiences with RHD Japan. I'm sure there are other members here who have ordered through them. Quite a few aussies use them too in addition to nengun and greenline. Edit: Just a couple from a quick search: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?260867-Interior-retrim-ideas&p=3281899&highlight=rhdjapan#post3281899 http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?654012-Ogura-clutches&p=8555349&highlight=rhdjapan#post8555349
  15. Hi Jamie, I'm running the full Ikeya set (I got mine through Nic, though RHD Japan is one possibility: http://www.rhdjapan.com/toyota/jza80-supra/links-rods-arms), and combined with the ProEFI, the stability in the rear is phenomenal... I personally haven't had experience with the PHR gear though was previously running the Titans which were also great.
  16. It was Kerr's (from the US Supraforums) http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?495033-93-single-wide-body-Make-offer&highlight= 2) http://community.webshots.com/album/162280367OJSFij 3) http://community.webshots.com/album/111277562sAmIwm 4) http://community.webshots.com/album/176275244HClmVs 5) http://community.webshots.com/album/362837824eHJhpm 6) http://community.webshots.com/album/509897543OZNKsu
  17. Wow, you have some real talent there Graham! I particularly like the dark moody look of the STI and the surreal lighting in the second photo (the Porsche).
  18. Tough question! There are so many stunning examples of Supras on this forum, I think choosing one is too hard for me! As many have mentioned, Jamie's cars are always amazing pieces of work... then there is Hodge who has set the bar incredibly high for both quality and the amount of self-carried-out work. mitchell9006's gold rush project is turning into an incredible build, and I have always had a soft spot for Jevansio's black beauty! marcAB10's black Supra looks mean as hell, as does Scott M's and Gaz6002's. Geo's black beast is clean and immaculate. Matt H has produced a unique, well put together example, as has mplavery. The list goes on...
  19. Going through tirerack they were very reasonable (obviously much cheaper than buying here in AU!) Currently running BFGoodrich T/A Drag Radials in the back - 345/35R18... tall, wide and sticky as hell (but I don't go near the rain in them ).
  20. Hi Andrew, I can only speak about the tyres I have run - back when I was using 10" wide rears, I had the BFGoodrich G-Force KD's which were phenomenal in the dry, also the KDW's which are more suited to mixed conditions. The KDW's are available in 295/35ZR19, so just another option for you...
  21. Inferno

    HKS vs K&N

Quite an old article, but here you go! http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/filters_test/2/
  22. It may not have the same wheels, but I had my lip sprayed white: http://www.supraforums.com.au/forum/showthread.php/62927-My-Supra-Restored-and-Built-from-the-Ground-Up. It makes a huge difference, and looks much better in my opinion. For white cars, even though the side skirts already line up with the bottom of the front lip, as it is black, you cannot see it very well. As a result, it looks as though the front bumper is too high.
  23. I recently purchased a GoPro HD Motorsports video camera, so hopefully I can get some good footage of the car! I also have a photoshoot coming up for a possible magazine feature - should be good .
  24. Thanks Jazz! As far as news goes, I have a photoshoot coming up in a couple of weeks which I am looking forward to as it should result in a magazine feature!
