  1. Thanks for the suggestion but Southampton a bit far away, if it was a Mclaren or a Ferari might consider it but it's ony an old Toyota and pretty much standard at that. I used to get it done at the specialist place that did my BMW's and Merc's a top bloke who did a good job. I'll just have to visit a few local independent garages who do performance cars. Many thanks,
  2. Not sure if this is the right forum, I'm looking for a good garage to work on and service my mkiv not too far from Walsall I've recently moved up here so dont know any local good ones. The cars developed a transmission fluid leak and could do with a few other things doing and I'm a bit old for rolling aroud under cars. Has anyone had a good experience of a garage in this area i.e. knows what they're doing, doesnt bullsh!t you Thanks In anticipation
  3. bump - anyone got a early jdm tt auto ecu I could use to prove the fault? I'm in the west midlands TIA Steviegeeza
  4. Supra Mark 4. Twin turbo auto 1993 Decat 3" pipe greddy boost controller. Approx. 100,000 mi Problem, when in drive will not rev above 3,000 RPM so is pretty sluggish, 2nd turbo never spools up. Will not go into overdrive, overdrive light intermittently flashes, warning triangle occasionally comes on, no odb1 fault codes when shorting test link. Car had not been used for around 6 months, as usual it started on first turn of the key, took it out for a Spin. Seemed to be in some sort of limp mode then started running really rough. Discovered one of the spark plugs, denso ik22 cylinder one, was faulty so replaced. Back firing on all 6. I pulled boost pipe from inlet manifold and revved it, getting boost pressure so at least one turbo is okay. Put in fresh fuel and injector cleaner. Took it out for another spin, this time holding it in low gear, and revving it gets past 3K RPM and into hyperdrive, a peak reading of 1.04 bar on the greddy. I assume that this must be the ECU as auto fluid is nice and clean, I never had a problem with the box and the car was okay when I put it away 6 months ago. Do readers think I'm correct in this assumption or have I missed something? Does anyone have a good ECU I can loan rent buy before I take the old one out, take it apart and check the caps. Don't want to risk buggering it up without a spare. Many thanks in anticipation [email protected]
  5. Anyone had any luck getting a spare key cut and programmed ? This remote works fine on my car but I've changed the locks so have to carry two keys, and no spare remote Can it be done or has the white heat of technology pased me and my key by?
  6. Depends on how deep the UV damage is, how long they have sat in the sun and whether the insides are clear, some won't polish up well at all, I know I have been there. Also when polished they need to be coated with a UV resistant coating or they cloud over again in 6 months. Why I want to do this when I have a pair of new Glass ones is a mystery its nearly as daft as chroming all the bits in your engine bay
  7. Its the one with the bonnet release and what looks to be a diagnostic socket. The clips at the top are brocken on mine Cheers Steve
  8. I'm after a pair for a project , dont care about the state of the plastic fronts as these will be discarded but need the cases and internals to be reasonably serviceable. Cheers Steve
  9. I'm interested, where abouts in the West Mids are you ? Steve
  10. A trip down to the local casualty dept ?
  11. Where abouts are you, i can pick up if you're central/west london Cheers Steve
  12. It looks a lot like an updated Supra in the flesh, my lad thought it looked cool. Pity it hasn't got the 400 bhp it deserves! He prefers the Bugatti Grand Sport - a snip at 1.5M
  13. Went to the Geneva motor show Saturday and for me this was the most interesting thing!
  14. I have 2 sets of trimmed I bought from Suprattgaz on his last manufacturing run, never got fitted still in the original packing. I bought some UK headlights and my mate could never be arsed to pay me and pick them up ! £65 a pair UK P+P free Steve
  15. I'll take them! Where abouts in Staffs are you? I have folks in the midlands so could probably pick em up next time I visit. Steve
  16. Oh dear, does it help if it makes a sucking noise? I suppose its similar to having a blow off valve that makes a farting noise when you change gear. [GRIN][/GRIN] If only I could persuade my wife that my snoring and farting is the side effect of some wonderful performance modification !
  17. Turbocharged engines do not have much of an induction roar due to the presence of the little fans and all the pipes and intercoolers. It's more like a wheasey hoover sound noticed this at Le Mans as the TDI Audi's go past, makes sense when you think about it! I'm more a pikey than a chav !
  18. Yes I know where the joker lives, but as they say, some meals are best enjoyed cold.
  19. Typo - should be toyotaracingdevelopments anyone know him?
  20. A week or so before Christmas I see a set of glass headlights on ebay, the seller is a guy calling himself toyotaracingdevelopements with 100% feedback rating of 150. I set up a snipe and win the auction for £176.01 + £20 p+p. Hurrah, I think I wont bother trying to fit the clear lenses I bought off suprattgaz which look great but look tough to fit. Mr toyotaracingdevelopements will not let me pick up and pay cash, which starts to make me feel slightly uncomfortable from the point of postman Pat breaking them on route, but also as there is a line in the auction which states that the seller does not accept responsibillity for loss during postage! But I send my cheque for £196, he will not take paypal, and request that he insures the shipment for £200 and sends me a tracking number, the cheque is cashed on 24th Dec. Mr toyotaracingdevelopements mails me on the 1st Jan and says he will post the lights the next day. After a week nothing turns up so I mail him and he says they have been sent and should be with me. This goes on for a while and I start asking him to check it out with the post office where he posted them as if they are lost in the post I will want a refund and he will have to claim against the post office. He says he is going to check with the post office and thats the last sensible communication I get out of him. I start a ebay dispute for non delivery and give him every opportunity to provide details of postal insurance and proof of postage telling him that he has got the wrong person if he thinks I am just going to kiss goodbye to nearly £200, he accuses me of recieving the lights and trying to scam a refund ! I tell him that I will take him to court ( small claims ) report him to the ebay trust and safety dept post negative feedback and post details of this incident of the forums of which I am a member. No Reply until I post negative feedback then he posts this on my feedback - SCAMMER-RECEIVED LIGHTS AND TRIED TO CLAIM MONEY BACK>AVOID THIS AR5EWIPE TWAT!! Seller:toyotaracingdevelopments ( 156 ) 04-Feb-08 11:12 Reply by steviegeeza (04-Feb-08 11:26): Paid this character £196. Item never sent no communication. CU in court ! Toyota Supra MKiv UK SPEC GLASS HEADLIGHTS (pair) NR! (#360003966850) I'm going to set off the small claim today and I'm going to take advice as to whether I can get him for defamation of character! And the moral of this story is - if you suspect that someone is an arse, as I did when Mr Dangerfield would not let me pickup and pay cash, then steer well clear! I've bought lots of stuff off ebay in the last 6 years but this is the really first time I've been ripped off by more than a few quid. The thought of those shiny glass lights got the better of me this time. And if you'r reading this Mr Andy Dangerfield of Bracknell you can still sort this out before it gets to court just send me an email. The time it will take me to drag you through court is worth much more than the £200 but its a matter of principle now.
  21. Thanks Colsoop I'll take the disks and pads - I've pm'd you just Rear Jspec calipers and pads to get Steve
  22. I'm after rear calipers and pads and front disks and pads. But if you have just upgraded to UK I'll take a complete set. Please Thanks Steve
