  1. Just the fact that they would be one offs that could only be used for a Supra due to the plumbing and other gubbins. That would make it very expensive for anyone to develop. The big singles are generic and can be used on any car given an appropriate manifold etc.
  2. R500 PRA is mine. Best plate I ever saw was BL05 JOB on a yellow Corvette...

    MOT rules

Can't you just get the work done at a place that does MOTs? Then you're driving the car to the MOT that just happens to be at the same place that's doing the work if you see what I mean.
  4. Surely there's nothing left in your car that isn't covered in leather anyway! Another vote for G&B here, they did a fantastic job recovering my Recaros and adding harness slots even though it was a nightmare job and they had to rebuild all the foam in the bolsters.
  5. I'll be there, in Houx with a few TVRs. Going on the Thursday this year, getting to Le Mans on the Friday. We've got a stripes theme this year, so the Supe will have white viper stripes...
  6. Happy brithday mate!
  7. LOL! Ooops! Suprastore used to advertise a loo seat made of carbon fibre - always fancied one of those...
  8. Not yet, I chased them up a week or so ago and 22nd May was the latest date they told me. The good news is I have loads of the locking bolt thingies, so you can definitely have a set of those!
  9. Glad to hear it's back on the road at last CJ, are you going to bring it to JapFest on Saturday? Quick blast round the track?
  10. Just got round to wiring the 2nd analogue input of my E01 to the intake air temp on the ECU (figured I might as well!). Only trouble is I have the voltages for the US/UK air temp sensor in the MAF but not the Jspec IAT voltages, and they are definitely not the same. Has anyone got the voltage ranges for the sensors on a Jspec, particularly the intake air temp? It would be in the factory repair manual. Maybe someone with a standalone ECU has the info? Can't find it anywhere.
  11. DBA say the Golds are not recommended for track use. That's because they are drilled and are more likely to crack under those conditions. They recommend the slotted ones (they do 3 versions of each disc type, plain, slotted and gold which are drilled). The slotted ones are slightly cheaper too. Here's the link: 4000 series DBA discs
  12. Cheque will be in the post tomorrow...
  13. There's two separate things you're talking about here. One covers the gap between the FMIC and rad. Air would not normally get up there because of the curved duct that you ntake off to fit your FMIC. So these are good if you have a FMIC, useless otherwise. The other is a thin cover that covers the gap between the rad and the cross member at the front of the car that normally has some foam blocking it. These are the ones normally called rad plates. The problem with them is that they also block one of the air feeds to the stock airbox. I didn't realise this at first, so I have now cut a section of mine out.
  14. Folding mirrors are standard on all Jspecs (I think). Uk spec brakes and 17" alloys go together and like the shocks were standard on the facelift RZ and optional on other models. The skirts were an optional extra on all models. If the rings round the dials are aluminium they aren't standard. If they are chromed plastic they were standard on some models (facelift RZ again, not sure about the others). Is yours a facelift? What model is it? (You can tell this by checking the model code on the VIN plate).
  15. No you won't, the Profec E01 comes with the pressure sensor. You need a cable that connects the E01 control unit to the Emanage. You also don't need the support tool if you are planning on using the E01 to configure the Emanage.
  16. Well I'm no expert, but since the temp at the takeoff is going to be less than in the oil galleries I wouldn't be comfortable with 130c or more. I think 140C is about the max before the oil is going to start breaking down. I'd hope for more like 110C or so max.
  17. Because they can only change the regulations with the agreement of all teams unless for safety reasons. The Concorde agreement states that and is legally binding so there's nothing they can do.
  18. I would think the easiest thing to do would be for someone to bring them to one of the upcoming shows that probably most people will be at anyway and distribute them there. Anyone not going can then have them posted if they want. Japfest is coming up soon, how about there?
  19. Well, I did have one fitted before, but it was plumbed into my old oil filter takeoff which I swapped out. I was going to put it in an adaptor in the oil line but it stuck out into the oil flow too much so I decided to forget that and put it in the sump instead. I'm waiting on an adaptor though, so it isn't plumbed in at all at the moment. I'll let you know when I get it plumbed in again. After 15 minutes of lapping Castle Combe last year on a hot day before I fitted the cooler I was seeing 128C oil temp (measured at the filter takeoff)!
  20. Not quite, they agreed there was no way of PROVING that they ran light, but why have a system like that if you aren't going to? Pretty clearly breaking the rules and very silly of BAR to even try something like that without asking for a rule clarification first. I think a 2 race ban was a bit harsh, but the FIA were asking for them to be excluded from the whole rest of the season!
  21. If you go too big there won't be any airflow over half the cooler because the washer tank is in the way, so the extra size will be wasted. Also if you have a FMIC the piping gets in the way too. I just fitted a 19 row 235mm one, the dimensions are 147x235 (that's just the matrix, not the mounts) and it holds 0.38l. That fits nicely and is ample size I would say.
  22. Doesn't half make for confusing threads though, with loads of people with the same Avatar...
