  1. You can use a bike helmet as long as it's BSI 6658 type 'A' approved. I just went down the local bike helmet shop and bought a cheapy plain helmet. You really want to try it on before buying one, that's the trouble with mail order.
  2. Yeah, let's just say you were quite keen to get votes!
  3. Ah, you weren't that bad. Did you make your photoshoot?
  4. I was wondering how long it was going to take you to post those up! PMSL! It's my new pimpin' look, LL SimonB...
  5. Calder Racing Developments.
  6. You have to change the LEDs to do this on the circuit board, all the heater control lights are LEDs. Then you use some EL wire to do the backlights on the buttons. It's a bit of a PITA. There should be a couple of threads on here somewhere about it.
  7. Why thank you! It was a bit dirty though, was going to wash it Saturday but it pissed it down all day.
  8. Errr, dunno. About 7:15 I suppose if it's at 8 over there. What do you reckon?
  9. Yeah yeah, just waiting for someone to come along and tell me to go single now...
  10. Ah, the poor/lazy importers speed conversion! Get yourself a Thor speed delimiter/convertor and the original Kph dial (it's probably hiding behind the new one).
  11. I've been suffering from the dreaded late 2nd turbo syndrome, where the EGBV doesn't open. Just spent ages checking all the hoses, testing the VSV, blowing down hoses and checking everything. Nothing wrong. Then I realised what I'd done. I recently fiddled with my Emanage map. I run higher than stock fuel pressure, with fueling trimmed down where not needed. On the Emanage this is done by scaling the MAP signal down in a table with RPM on one axis and throttle position on the other. That's a base if you like, to which you add fuel in an injector table which has RPM on one axis and boost on the other. Unfortunately I scaled down the MAP signal so much that the ECU is deciding it doesn't need to open the EGBV. Doh! Time to rejig my map I think. Anyway, thought I'd share that duh! moment in case anyone else tries something similar!
  12. Your best bet is to read this site to figure out what does what etc, and then go to Triton, at Bournemouth airport west industrial estate to have any work done.
  13. Maybe I should say that that isn't in fact Ray under there. Hey, we could have a guess the mystery guest!
  14. Cheers guys , the camera is my new toy, brilliant bit of kit. It's a Cannon EOS350D digital SLR. Only the standard kit lens at the moment, so I had to crop a few of those pics cos I couldn't zoom in any further! Still, with 8megapixels you can crop a bit and get away with it! Cost about 600 quid IIRC. It was my birthday present to me!
  15. How about a caption competition for this one then: http://www.simonb.org/images/SantaPod/RaysSurgery.jpg

    Squeaking Breaks

If you're going to use the shims, buy some new ones from Toyota. You're supposed to change them when you change the pads. Old ones get corroded and give you a spongy feeling pedal. You shouldn't need them though, the brakes feel much better without them and shouldn't squeel too much with some copperslip on the back. I haven't used shims for ages and mine don't squeel at all (CW fast road pads or standard Toyota ones). EBC pads have a reputation for being shite on here btw, especially the Green stuff ones!
  20. Good choice of example there Rosie...
