  1. The cooler should go after the filter, as filters work best on hot oil. So the flow should be in an anti-clockwise direction on your diagram. Oil always flows down the outside of the filter and returns up the middle, so your connection A should be to the outside of your filter takeoff.
  2. Le Mans for sure, the best film ever made about cars I think. Grand Prix is brilliant as well, but you can't get it on DVD at the moment. "Racing is life. Anything that happens before or after is just waiting..."
  3. Another local(ish) place is Triton, by Bournemouth airport. All the local guys here use them, and I have several times. They are a Japanese import specialist, know what they are doing and are cheap too. Probably a bit far for you though.
  4. Analog for MAP, you cut the connection from the MAP sensor to the ECU, and connect the sensor side to the input and the output to the ECU side. Here's the MAP connection:- The other connections at the ECU can be found here http://mkiv.com/manual/manualtt/terminals_of_ecm/index.html Bear in mind this is from the USA, so is slightly different when it comes to MAP vs MAF but most are the same.

    Squeeking noise

It's the accessory belt squeeking, it drives the power steering pump amongst other things so that's why it squeeks when you turn the wheel - the pump puts up more resistance. Easy to change, Toyota charge a fortune for a new belt though, so you're better off getting a Gates one. You sure the smoke's not just condensation this time of year? Does it smell of burning oil?
  6. Well, I get RPM and throttle position from my Emanage. I use analog input #1 for my wideband AFR (although it's a bit crap at the moment because that signal is not linear) and the second one for intake temperature. Again not prefect because it's not linear, but it's near enough. MAP is pretty pointless as you have a boost sensor anyway, unless you haven't got a FCD in which case you can use the E01 as one. Speed is a good one for one of the pule inputs, because if you download the latest firmware for the E01 and put it on a SD card you can have speed-related boost maps. The outputs are pretty useless unless you want to use it as a FCD.
  7. I managed to break mine a while back. The thing to do is buy a plain E01 (i.e. the one that is just a display for the Emanage and not a boost controller). The display and brain are the same for both, the only difference is that the plain E01 doesn't come with the pressure sensor and has a different SD card. So you can buy a E01 which is cheaper, and just swap your existing SD card over. Still not too cheap though! http://www.mohdparts.com in the US is the cheapest way of getting one, although you might also want to ask Lucifer/mkivstore as he seems to have some very good GReddy prices atm.

    500 bhp

Hmmm, 400 at the wheels and they're saying 500 at the crank? That's some transmission loss!
  9. We stopped over somewhere in Belgium so we probably went a different route. Can't remember now.
  10. I got one of them with an impact screwdriver, but the other one defeated me...

  12. Ask CJ how easy it is to find decent petrol. Or any petrol in fact! LOL! Seriously though, for some reason there seem to be bugger all petrol stations on the Autobahn route down to the 'ring. Make sure you fill up before crossing into Germany if you go the same way we did.
  13. I think your chances of ever getting a mortgage after you've declared yourself bankrupt are pretty slim.
  14. Citizens Advice Bureau. Tell him to phone up and make an appointment with the local one, they will give good free advice. Debt is mostly what they deal with.
  15. Tell him to talk to the CAB as soon as possible, they will advise him.

    Le Mans 24h

Good idea, that was the Pistonheads meet, but everyone kind of tags along anyway so I'm sure we can hijack it.

    Le Mans 24h

Oh yes, I'll be in Houx as usual. Should be a good one this year despite the travesty that is the Audi deisel...
  18. Yeah, I think I'll be paying them a visit too for a 3" 2nd decat pipe and possibly to do the slight tweak to Arnouts pipeworks kit that seems to be needed. One of these days I must learn how to weld...
  19. Actually I could do with a single one too, nobody seems to do them.
  20. Have a look on John's site here http://www.efter-stormen.net/gocast/. The turbo's in a quite different position, and parallel to the block.
  21. Yeah, it might have been a lot a hassle but yours really is a lovely installation there, very neat indeed. Did you get that pipe custom made?
  22. Here's my list, this is what you'd need to piece together a kit. Some of this stuff is extra to what you'd get in a Boostlogic or whatever kit but I'm going to use anyway: Arnout cast manifold HKS racing 50mm wastegate GT35R T4 flange Vband outlet turbo turbo coolant and oil feed and return fittings T4 gasket 7 x studs (for turbo to manifold and wastegate to manifold) Arnouts custom pipework kit Custom intercooler piping HKS BOV flange (for attaching it to the intake side alu pipe) 4" alu intake pipe (I think a simple straight pipe will do here) 45deg 4" silicon coupler for above Mikalor clamps for above x 2 4" K&N air filter K&N filter to replace IAC hose. Hose for replacing heater hoses. Weld in fitting for attaching crankcase blow-by pipe to intake pipe Braided hose for above + fitting Turbo oil feed/drain kit (I'm going to use the Boostlogic one) Exhaust wrap, ties and heat coating Turbo blanket Hose anti-heat sheaths Then my list of extra stuff to be added later is: Air duct for front bumper Air duct hose Outlet for air ducting Air box Emanage ultimate & harnesses
  23. You can't use an off the shelf DP, but Arnout himself has a 3" pipeworks kit which consists of a DP and wastegate mounting adaptor thingy that plumbs the wastegate back into the DP. Here's what he said about it in his last email to me: I must chase him up again actually to see what exactly needs doing to it. I'm hoping to use this. Or you can do what John did and get an exhaust place to fabricate one. You would need a bit of custom fabrication for the intercooler pipe too, although you might be able to mod another one. I've been drawing up a big spreadsheet with all the stuff I'm going to need, I'll try and post the contents up.
  24. Some scumbag has keyed the back of my Supra . So I now have a couple of nice long scratches across the back of the boot lid. Not that deep, but deep enough. Have any of the local peeps used any of the mobile scratch removal places round here and would recommend them?
  25. Could you post a pic up? I'm going to need something like this, but I'm using one of Arnouts manifolds which has the turbo in a different place. If I can have a look I might be able to see if I can mod it rather than having a custom one made. Cheers.
