  1. Ooo, good find Gerry. Night time drag strip sounds like a laugh!
  2. If you do a search on EBC pads you'll see they were generally regarded as utter shite. That was the green stuff ones I think though, it's been a while since anyone has posted anything about them - probably put off!
  3. Yes, it's a very common problem. The fluid sloshes around and makes the warning light come on. Top it right up and that'll sort it. For fluid type use DOT5.1 - it's compatible with the lower grades so you'll be ok. The only type that is incompatible with the others is DOT5, make sure you don't get that.
  4. UK and J spec are exactly the same, they are both dual mass flywheels. So that sounds like they're talking crap. I wouldn't skim one, that'd be likely to bugger the rubber damping. TBH I'd change it anyway if you're changing the clutch considering the labour costs of dropping the gearbox to change it later if it's a bit dodgy. They're about £350 from Toyota IIRC.
  5. Normal powder coating heats the wheel to a point that removes the temper. You have to use a special powder coating process that doesn't use as much heat and retains the temper of the alloy. Wow, that sounded like I know what I'm talking about!
  6. Same here, PITA isn't it? I keep putting mine away afterwards and then losing them the next year and having to buy another set. Halfords don't do the cheapo LED ones any more either, had a real job getting some in time last year...
  7. After Easter bank holiday Jake, I've booked some time off work so I can get it all sorted over a couple of weeks.
  8. RPM is always a pulsed signal, not a 0-5V analogue one. You get 4 pulses per engine rev. It should have a facility to log a pulsed signal for RPM I would have thought? Other 0-5V stuff you to log could be the intake temp and water temp.
  9. Got someone to do this now. I remembered that just round the corner is Turbo Dynamics, and this kind of thing is right up their street, doh!
  10. Look what I found, these look the bollocks. Bit expensive though! Check out the 12ft ones too, luxury... EZ Up ramps
  11. The rare and valuable ones are the original Shelby AC Cobras.
  12. Don't suppose you can get them anywhere else apart from Costco can you? There isn't one anywhere near me...
  13. Anyone got any recommendations for where to get a decent trolley jack? Ideally a nice long reach low one with a decently high lift. I used to have a cheapo one from Halfords but it's bit the dust after a couple of years.
  14. I've yet to find a set of normal ramps wide enough for the Supras front wheels, never mind the rear ones. Most are a max width of 210 even for the heavy duty ones. Anyone know where to get some?
  15. About a mile if that. The BT ones from Argos are quite good, you get two handsets and they have FM radios in too.
  16. How about painting the whole bonnet apart from the vents left in carbon? That'd look great. Looks a bit weird with the triangular shape IMO.
  17. To get rid of fuel cut you want to clamp the signal at approx 4.2v. I've never used this feature on the E01, but I think you go into the analog output page in the settings and set the input to input 2 and clamp volt to 4.2. Can't think of any other pulse signals to use, so just leave that disconnected. The other analog input you can use for intake air temp, or coolant temp.
  18. Awww, I missed all the fun, didn't even bother reading this thread when I saw the subject! Wish I had now! Happy anniversay for Monday anyway Katie & Laz, 13 eh? Unlucky for some... Have to catch up with all you guys soon!

    Thanks.

They'll be lethal in the wet. They have barely any tread. They are track day tyres, you wouldn't want them on the road, but on track they'll be fab. I was looking at getting a set for my stock wheels that I use for track days a while back. I think they were about £600 for a full set in stock sizes. They don't do them large enough for most aftermarket 18s, but they do the stock sizes.
  20. You can't use a pulse input for a FCD, the airflow signal is an analogue 0-5V signal, so no wonder it didn't work! Also, there is no stock oil temp sensor, so you can't have hooked up to that. Do you mean coolant temp or intake oil temp instead? To set the range for throttle position, just see what the voltage is with the ignition on and your foot off the throttle and with it to the floor and use those.
  21. Basically if your exhaust past the point where your external wastegate would join in is not big enough you gain by diverting some of the exhaust gas so it doesn't go through the exhaust. Also introducing the exhaust gas from the wastegate into the main exhaust stream can cause turbulence where it joins, which reduces the efficiency of the exhaust. Also some people like the noise they make, and not plumbing it back into the exhaust is a lot easier from a fabricating pipework point of view.
  22. When you have upgraded turbo setup with an external wastegate, a screamer pipe is a pipe that vents excess exhaust gas from the wastegate straight to atmosphere. The alternative is to have it vent this gas back in to the exhaust like the standard one does. They are called screamer pipes because they are very loud (as they are effectively unsilenced exhausts).
  23. Cheers, one is a threaded nipple that needs to go on to the pipe I've got for my new intake pipe - that's a new bit so no probs there. The other is a flange for my BOV that needs to go on the ally pipe that connects to the intake mani. That's the PITA one because the pipe in question is on my car now so it would need doing while the car is off the road while I'm fitting my turbo, which I'm hoping won't be very long! There's a place up the road here in Christchurch in the Yellow Pages but I dunno if they'll do little jobs like this. I'll give them a ring tomorrow.
  24. Any of you local guys down here know of somewhere I can get a couple of bits of aluminium welding done? Just a couple of flanges I need welding to some aluminium pipe.
