  1. So it does, that's a bit annoying! And a repost too, oh dear...
  2. How's this for a different style dump valve...
  3. In that case I should delete all posts in their section too, including the ones promoting their stuff. We're all perfectly entitled to post stuff saying "Thor threatened to sue the site, that was uncalled for and they're a bunch of tossers". That qualifies as fair comment as it is an opinion based on fact.
  4. They use character recognition - each camera reads the plate and compares the time with the earlier cameras and uses the elapsed time to work out your average speed. They will read stacked plates though, and I'd be suprised if the others won't too, it's a pretty trivial bit of image recognition.
  5. TBH normally the traffic is a bloody nightmare. No problem parking, they have loads of room in the fields and they're not too bumpy. If you want to avoid the traffic you'll have to get there early, otherwise be prepared to sit on the A27 for an age.
  6. Yeah but that wasn't really a Supra. It just looked like one. Different engine etc. The Lexus is basically the same car with a different body bolted on.
  7. Personally I wouldn't bother with the anti-squeel shims. Bite is so much better without them and I've never noticed any difference in squeel. You want the anti-rattle clips though.
  8. I didn't even know they had a rolling road and I take my car there! Doh! They're good guys.
  9. Ah, forgot it's a VVTi, don't know how to do the fuel pump diagnostic on those. You could pull the pressure hose off the regulator and start the car, it won't be as accurate as the injectors will be opening and closing but near enough.
  10. Get a bit of wire and bridge the +B and FP terminals in the diagnostics port under the bonnet. Then turn on the ignition. That will run the fuel pump and allow you to check/reset the static pressure (static because the injectors aren't opening). Pressure when idling will be less as it's pulling a vacuum.
  11. They've really cracked down in France now, if they catch you doing more than 40Kph over the limit it's a 90 euro fine and 15 day ban (only applies to France, but unless you have a passenger you're stuffed). More than 50Kph over and it's a 750 Euro fine and 1 month ban. If you can't pay on the spot they can confiscate your car. Heard plenty of stories at Le Mans this year of people that had been banned on the way down. They've been talking about having a Europe wide points thing for ages now, can't see it happening myself as you'd have to have a standard across Europe for points and the number you get for various things. There's no way the member states are going to agree that one between them!
  12. What so you can make sure you're prepared for your photo opportunity with a friendly wave, going fast enough to set them off? They can't get you with a camera in France, only if you get pulled over by a Gendarme.
  13. Ah, using glue on your bottle wall seems to be becoming more common these days. I remember the days when a bottle wall was a triumph of man over nature....At least the nature of pissed up people to knock it over while trying to put the last few bottles on!
  14. Good idea, never thought of that...
  15. I'm off to Newquay this weekend, so you won't be seeing me either!
  16. Hello Alex, any excuse to pimp your pictures eh? Guys, this is Alex, co-driver of our official beer support vehicle and our official photographer of Le Mans...

    Towing eyes

You should be OK with a standard bumper.
  18. It's 0.9 actually in the Emanage ultimate. Don't know how accurate that is, but that's the base value.
  19. You were lucky with the tunnel, when we came back on Monday they had coned the left hand lane off for roadworks, so we had to crawl through. Very dull. I made up for it on the way down with a full bananas fly past with the bullet cam on though! Think I got you on the bullet cam coming the other way on Friday as we left anyway.

    my bad f*ckin luck

From what you said, traction control wouldn't help you in this case. It was braking and turning that would do it - breaking causes weight to transfer forwards which means the rear wheels have less grip. Then if you turn suddenly the rear will beak loose. You'd get the same on any car, fwd rwd or 4wd. Not that that's much consolation! Glad it doesn't sound like too much damage.
  21. Well, had a great time as usual! Got back yesterday evening after spending Sunday night in Trouville. I'm knackered today, probably something to do with still being up drinking coctails in a Cuban bar there at 3:30! I've got some great footage from the bullet cam. We strapped it to my friend's Cerbera on the door pointing at the rear wheel while he drifted it round the Houx annexe roundabout and did a huge burnout on Mad Friday! That was just before the Pirate ship arrived... Honestly, if you think you've seen it all come to Le Mans and be proved wrong. The 911 broke on the way back, with no power getting to the fuse board but was fixed by four blokes who stopped by in a Scooby and happened to be electricians. Nobody got arrested (suprisingly) and we're all still alive, so all is well! I stopped by the Zytec pit and had a brief chat with Dave on Friday (good to meet you mate). Shame they didn't have much luck in the race. I'm going to leave the stripes on for a bit this time, so they should still be on for JAE.
  22. I *think* the way the air con clutch works normally is the air con amplifier switches a connection to the ECU to ground when the switch is on. The ECU then knows to raise the idle, and it switches another connection to ground which energises the relay. So it could be something to do with your Motec I guess.
  23. I'll ask the guys, can't remember the name of the place. You can get any colour you want. The red white and blue is just three separate stripes stuck over each other.
  24. Don't worry, the shopping list will return! Last year I just printed it out onto transparent sticker paper, so I'll do the same again tomorrow! I was going to get it made properly out of vinyl but never got round to it.
