  1. Can't be arsed to read all that right now and figure it out, but it's not the blue spaghetti mod. It's something to do with bypassing the VSVs that control the IACV and EGBV so the actuators open on pressure and not under the control of the ECU.
  2. Glad to know you've got all the bits Rosie...
  3. Presumably you want mine then, I never received anything asking for it? I'll get hold of it.
  4. Mine keeps doing that, the third one failed the other day. The usual way to illuminate them in a different colour is to use EL wire - you can thread it through all the buttons quite easily without having to worry about loads of LEDs. But yeah, as standard they should light up.

    Crazy Taxi!!

I got a taxi in Dublin once from the airport. He set off, was doing 45 or so and then suddendly noticed a speed bump. We hit it about 40, all 4 wheels off the ground and came down with a big crunch. That was pretty funny, although I did bang my head!
  6. You'll need more than just a fuel pump! You'll need bigger injectors (or at the very least an adjustable fuel pressure reg set to more than the stock pressure) plus a way of controlling your fueling - SAFC, Emanage, something like that. Then you'll need it setting up, or to do it yourself you'll want a wideband. The standard fueling is not up to 1.4 BAR. And you definitely don't want the 1st cat in, it's very restrictive.
  7. You can't actually easily wire it so it will dim. The dimmer uses a variable ground. So one of the wires will always be +12V when the lights are on. One of the others will be 0V (i.e. ground) when the dimmer is on full bright. As you turn the dimmer this one will go up to +10V say, so effectively the difference between the two goes down. Unfortunately boost gauges only have 1 illumination wire. If you hook it to the +12v line the guage backlight will come on with your lights on but will always be full brightness. If you use the other one it will work backwards, so full bright on the dimmer will be dim on your gauge.
  8. There is no legal limit as such for cars, only for bikes. It's down to judgement, as the law says something about being unsociably loud. It would be up to the court to decide if it ever made it that far. There are lots of things that are required for SVA but not legal requirements afterwards, like the switches being rounded with no sharp edges etc etc.
  9. All track days are no overtaking through corners and no racing. I've never been round Goodwood, it certainly has very little run-off though!
  10. I was just reading about the engines used for this in Track & Race Car. They are running two stage turbos at 6 BAR boost apparently!

  12. Do you mean it goes straight to 60 or gradually goes up to that and then no hotter? Because the oil in the bottom of the sump won't get a lot hotter than that in normal use. Certainly much cooler than the oil around the filter area for example.
  13. The new one has a smart card. If the car moves without the card being near it activates. So if someone carjacks you it activates. Not cheap though.
  14. Yeah, I'd much rather have a combined job like the tracker horizon. Otherwise all they have to do is load it into a container or a lorry and the GPS is going to be screwed. Trouble is it's much more expensive.
  15. Great stuff! They're going for 350 by the sounds of it. I love things like this, British engineering to do something just for the hell of it. Congratulations Dave and the team!
  16. Bear in mind that when you talk about "keeping the twins" by sticking a HKS twin kit on you're not actually. The twin turbo kits are not sequential like the stock ones, they run both turbos in parallel, so are really no different to a larger single in the way they perform/behave. You do need a lot more pipework though, so they are more expensive.
  17. Don't know, I think it will depend on how it clamps on to the actual handbrake. I think the only way to tell would be to try it unless anyone else has one. I've got a Momo one.
  18. The handbrake handle is metal with a rubber cover - that's the bit you have to cut off. The handle and gaitor is all one bit. Once you've cut it you can peel it off.
  19. E as in emergency. In Japan they always call it the E-brake, US too I think. And yes, stanley knife is the answer to how to remove the cover. .
  20. You can probably borrow mine after I've had my Motec fitted, but that's not until 16th Sep.
  21. You've declared you have fitted a new bumper to the insurance company, and removing the crash bar is part of fitting it, so you're fine.
  22. Pretty sure 5.1 is the official 0-60 time for the auto. Not sure where 5.6 comes from.
  23. This seems to be one of the strange things about Supras. Some have the lights on warning tone, some switch the lights off automatically, some don't have either. Some chime when you open the door with the keys in, some don't. And some have a reversing beeper and some don't.
  24. I'm a software engineer. I work for NATS, who bascially provide all the air traffic control for this country (apart from some airports). I work on air traffic control simulations, used for training new controllers and also testing new methods of working, procedures, technologies etc before unleashing them! Mainly work on speech recognition atm - we have a system that recognises the instructions the controller is giving to aircraft, simulates the response and replies in a sythesised voice.
