    Facelift cars

Yeah, that sounds right. Mine is an R reg manufactured in August 97 and it's a facelift non-VVTi.
  2. Yeah, if you don't have a MAF you can just use a small K&N filter, that's what most people do. It's a 19mm inside diameter flange one, part no 62-1360 from K&N.
  3. That's the idle air control valve - it provides air to bypass the throttle and control the idle speed. If you have a UK spec car with a MAF you need to hook it up to somewhere past the air flow sensor on the intake pipe or the air it draws in will bypass the flow sensor. On a Jspec with a MAP sensor you can just bung a small filter on there.
  4. LOL, I know! Obviously not charging enough! . Haven't got a fcd, sorry. Although I do have a GReddy profec E01 boost controller for sale that you can rig up to work as a fcd too...
  5. Both provisionally sold now, thanks guys.
  6. I think they mark them just to say they have been balanced, checked etc during assembly.
  7. I have one of Chris Wilson's J spec 1st decat pipes, 2.5" for sale. It was on my car for a couple of years. Bit rusty on the outside of the flanges but sound enough. £60. I also have a 2nd decat pipe, again a Chris Wilson one 2.5" with a fitting welded in to take a wideband sensor - I can provide a bung for it if needed. £70.
  8. I have a GReddy Profec E01 boost controller for sale, my Motec ECU handles boost control for me now. Easily the best boost controller IMHO. It comes with the display, hand controller, hideaway brain, external signal harness which allows you to display and log 2 analogue and 2 pulsed inputs, boost control solenoid and pressure sensor. In other words all you need. I'll throw in my dashmount bracket which allows you to mount the display off the centre console (see pic). http://www.greddy.com/img/PHP/products/jpg/525.jpg £250 delivered.
  9. Yeah and it turns out it's my mate Alex who set that donation thing up. Good work fella!
  10. Well the quick answer is none, and you will mess your fueling up causing you to lose (even more) power and possibly cause damage. The only place for these is if you need to increase fuel pressure to compensate for having too small injectors, and to do so you need some form of fuel controller. In which case you should just buy a proper adjustable fuel pressure reg like an aeromotive.
  11. Unfortunately, whenever anything sounds too good to be true, it always is!
  12. Let's face it, it was pretty obvious though wasn't it?
  13. Everyone uses BTs lines into people's houses - the local loop. BT now have to allow other companies access to them though by allowing them to install equipment in their local exchanges. That is what Sky is doing - the local loop to your house is still owned by BT, but the network from the local exchange onwards will be Sky. Normally providers use BTs gear in the local exchange too which they charge a lot for. The reason you're limited to 2mb could be the line itself or the equipment in your local exchange. If it's the line you're buggered unless you can persude BT to upgrade it which is very unlikely. If it's the local exchange you might be in luck when Sky arrives.
  14. No it isn't. It's 36psi. Well actually the tech manual says 33-40psi.
  15. That's for an NA. The TT is 53:47 IIRC although I can't find the link atm.
  16. First check you haven't overfilled with oil, that's a common cause of smoke. Check your oil level with a cold engine.
  17. My better offer has just gone home, so I shall be along...
  18. TBH I'd expect anyone that has to drive for work would get that penalty.
  19. Not sure if I am going to make this or not now, I may have a better offer...

  21. Sparco do them. When I bought mine nobody in this country stocked them so I bought it from Dusty (MVP) in the States. They're a good bit of kit, handy for mounting a fire extinguisher and camera too.
  22. The only safe way to mount them is using a proper harness bar. The seat belt points are too low down and could result in a serious spinal injury in a crash as your spine will compress. If you don't mount them and use them correctly harnesses can be more dangerous than the normal belts. You must keep the lap strap very tight to stop the shoulder straps pulling it up off your waist, and preferably use an anti-sub strap (crotch strap) which is designed to stop it pulling up.

    ahh problem

To drain the coolant system fully you need to also use the second drain plug which is on the exhaust side of the engine.
  24. LOL, you say that every time mate! Looks good though, and has a proper gearbox too. Plus Recaros I see. Not keen on the front personally, but at least it's different I guess!
