  1. A blow-through carb which you would need for a supercharger or turbo setup would cost you much more than a stand alone ECU I suspect.
  2. Carbs are inferior in every way to fuel injection. You have all sorts of mechanical bodges with carbs to try and get the fueling and timing right under all conditions and even then it's not very good. Or you just program your ECU to get exactly the right fueling and timing all the time. Plus a turbo car with carbs is complex - you either put the carb before the turbo in which case you can't use an intercooler or a BOV, or after the turbo in which case you have to pressurise the fuel somehow with a special setup.
  3. With the Motec too you can have a rotary switch with multiple boost settings if you want, I just don't know why you'd bother. Apart from if you wanted a different map for race fuel.
  4. I've never seen the point of adjusting boost. Just set it at the level the car's mapped and set up for. Your right foot is the thing that controls how much power to put down. I never changed mine on the fly when I had one, my Motec ECU looks after it now, and has much more control over boost than even the best EBC as it knows what your speed. rpm, gear and anything else is and can adjust boost accordingly.
  5. A full stand-alone such as the AEM, Motec, Autronic etc can control boost but the piggy backs like the Emanage cannot. Of course the stand-alones are significantly more expensive.
  6. Gah, the youth of today, no fortitude! Anyway, if you're sharing it with Genna I wouldn't expect you to have an over filled stomach...
  7. Ahh, good old Mycroft. I'd almost forgotten how much total bollocks he used to spout...
  8. I wonder if it would make a difference if you remapped the ignition timing.
  9. You don't HAVE to remove anything, I just found it a bit easier if you move the battery and it only takes a minute to do.
  10. Will do, I'll have a look when I get back tonight. I'm sure it's there somewhere though.
  11. Blimey, sounds like you need to look at your diet...
  12. Battery out, unbolt power steering reservoir and move out the way a bit, reach through with your arm from the front. Put a plastic bag around the old filter before unscrewing it and it will drop into the bag and not get oil everywhere.
  13. I'm pretty sure I've got one lying around in the garage. I won't have the O ring that holds the BOV into the fitment though because I re-used it on my new flange.
  14. You also need to have filled in your address under the user cp and ticked the box I think.
  15. Any boost reference point, depends where you have your BOV where the most convenient place is. I have mine connected up to the place on the back of the inlet manifold where there's a spare nipple that originally connected up to pipe than runs along the back of the engine and goes to the original BOV if you trace it round.
  16. The drain can't be too large. It can be too small, and the feed can be too large, but not the drain.

What a load of old bollocks.
  18. Yeah good point. Maybe someone nicked it from work and took it for a quick spin round Christchurch at 3pm!
  19. Don't think that was me. I was in Christchurch at lunchtime but I went up Bargates and I left about 12:45. Plus my reg is R**PRA. Spooky if there's another one around with almost the same reg though!
  20. Blimey, this must be the longest thread ever.
  21. You can still do that by locking two bolts together and using one of those to turn the stud. It's more of a PITA though.
  22. Are they UK or J spec pads? There you go, a post that also asks a sesible question. That should count as 2 posts...
  23. The 2nd decat is still available as the buyer has had to pull out. Just to be clear, this is the 2nd decat as in the one nearest the rear of the car. It will fit any Supra - only the 1st cat is different between UK and J spec.
