  1. That's the badgers, that's one of my favourite tips because it's so unlikely but actually works a treat. You beat me to it though! They have them in B&Q too.
  2. It sits at 0, but only because of the pin that stops it reading less. If you just line it up with zero it will read wrong. You need to get the car warm and then put it back with the engine running at the warm idle speed (800rpm or so IIRC).

    Tax Disks

It's not a producer for failing to display a tax disc, it's a £60 fixed penalty. There is no grace period or exemptions for any reason - I think the 14 days refers to the amount of time before your previous tax runs out that you can apply for a new one. I have heard of people being fined despite having tax - the people checking don't always have access to the computer to check if they're not police.
  4. You can get her to do a naked strip in the strip club, but then she goes off with another bloke!
  5. Someone sent me a link to this ages ago, you can get her and her friend naked in the swimming pool, have sex with her in the parking lot by the convenience shop, out by the viewpoint or at home. If you're sad and have too much time on your hands that is! (Or just cheat and find out what options to choose like I did )

    KatieC....

You're kidding right? Anyway, congratulations again!
  7. Lol! I did think of that, grovelled about under the car for a bit trying to see if I could get my fingers in there but no chance. It's always the critical bolt you lose. I did think I'd be in big trouble because there's no way of bolting the manifold back on without a 12mm socket. Can't go buy another one cos I've got no intake manifold on! Just as well I've got another one.
  8. I've been busy fitting my fuel kit, dual pumps, new rail etc etc. So I'm in the middle of taking the intake manifold off (which incidently is a job I absoluely bloody HATE!) and I knocked something off the side. Just saw it disappearing down the inner wing (how did it get in there!). Clunk clunk clink, somehow it's managed to end up INSIDE my side skirt (which naturally is stuck on, not just bolted). So not only will I now have the thing rattling round driving me nuts until I can get it out but it was my 12mm socket which I need to put the thing back together Luckily I found another socket, but what a PITA!
  9. I don't think so, the ECU handles cold start idle by stepping the idle control. The coolant pipes are there to stop the valve icing up in very cold climates. Still, it's not a great idea to block them anyway, what's the point? The air intake you can stick a small K&N filter on on a Jspec with no MAF, but on a UK spec you must route a hose from the intake after the MAF.
  10. Have a look at this thread.
  11. In a word, no. The viscous fan puts a load on the engine when it's needed, but so does an electric fan, via the alternator, and this is less efficient as it involves converting motion to electricity and then back again. It does free up a load of space at the front of the engine though...
  12. My sizes are already posted, but tbh I hope they have replaced them. The new model is going to be an improvement or they wouldn't introduce it, and this is backed up by the (admittedly single) review I've read of them.
  13. Try taking your anti-squeel shims off the pads if you haven't already (the plates on the back of the pads).
  14. Not sure what you mean, the stock BOV attaches to the standard pipework which isn't used if you have a single.

  16. I read a review of them the other day that said they were very good, a significant improvement on the old ones.

  18. There's some pics of my DIY job in this post on another thread:- http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=801091&postcount=32 I made it out of several pipe bends from a place in the USA.
  19. I've done a couple of track days at Silverstone and I've yet to see anyone with a sound meter. It's not like castle combe where they check everyone before they go on.

    Dyno

AFAIK the actual units that bolt up to the hubs are independant so there shouldn't be any width limit if that's what you mean? You just move them further apart.
  21. I've done one of the Goldtrack evening sessions, they're brilliant. Open pitlane, so you get as much track time if not more than a full day with sessions, and it's half the price!
  22. If the water temp sensor isn't attached the ECU goes into safe mode because engine temp is one of the things it uses to decide how much fuel to inject. It will run like crap if at all. That's probably all it was.
  23. Here is the vid from a couple of years ago with the "fire in the hole" incident... p.s. Sorry for inflicting Ray's chest on you all again .
  24. We all sit around, drink heavily, eat burgers, talk crap and set fire to things. Think that about covers it...
