  1. I have a set of Power Enterprise 650cc injectors for sale. They are high impedance, so drop straight into a standard Jspec fuel rail with no need for resistor packs etc and connect up to the standard injector connectors. These were running in my car perfectly until a couple of weeks ago when I switched to a top feed fuel rail. They are a year or so old. To buy these new would cost you around £100 each IIRC. I'm after £400 delivered.
  2. I heel and toe when downshifting - sometimes I get it right, sometimes not . It's a lot easier when you're really going for it on track or something, but I do it on the road as practice. Still not that good at it though!
  3. But what most people are describing (matching revs to speed to do a seamless downshift) is heel and toe, not double declutch. Press clutch, blip throttle, raise clutch just as engine revs are at the correct point. That's not pointless, but double declutching - raising the clutch in neutral - is pointless and just slows gearchanges down.

    Oversteer

Generally, assuming you are accelerating you should ease off the power and counter steer. Don't jump off the accelerator completely or brake, as that will transfer weight forwards and give you even less rear grip. Be ready to steer back the other way again as soon as you begin to regain rear grip or you will fishtail. If you were braking and the rear came out (unlikely with ABS) you should ease off the brakes to allow weight to transfer rearwards and give you more rear grip.
  5. Yep, managed to crack mine going into the Arnage car park at Le Mans at the weekend though, so I might change, haven't decided yet. It's already been repaired once.

Did anyone see the Legends race this year? I've never got up early enough before but this year one of the entrants was one of the guys we always camp next to, Dan. He was in the 31 car, a TVR Grantura. It was actually a brilliant race, loads of action at the Dunlop esses where we were! He finished 41st overall and 5th in class I think.

Yeah, real shame they closed that, that was one of the best bits of Mad Friday. I think it was because there was at least one hit and run accident down there last year. I would never turn up Friday night, that would be a nightmare! Think I was demonstrating the power to one of our guys in the passenger seat It's a real shame about the roundabout. Our guys were one of the people to start the whole mad friday burnout thing, but that was on a straight and the crowd were out the way. The stupid water pistol thing annoys me too, don't see what's funny about opening people's doors and throwing water bombs in. Then you've got nutters setting fireworks off in their hands. The last couple of years it's got so full of twats it's no fun any more.

That would be Ed, and yes he probably was!

He he, me driving like a loon, surely not Had a great time as usual despite the weather. The car ran faultlessly and is sooo fast now! I've got some great footage of our convoy flooring it through the tunnel on the way back. Quick tip for getting out (ok, I know a bit late now) - go watch the end from Arnage, then you can get out no problem. Mind you, this year it was a total mudbath up there when it pissed it down the last hour. Also, we always stay in a hotel Sunday night, Treuville this year. Then you can have a final pissup before heading back on the Monday. The annexe roundabout was shit this year, just too many people and too many arseholes. Shame about the Creation Dave, felt sorry for you each time it got crashed, which was a few! I was going to pop in and see you Friday but it absolutely pissed it down when we were in the pitlane so we legged it for shelter! Good news for Shorty and the Rollcenter team though, 4th overall!

If you haven't got a camping ticket you're in trouble. They all sell out ages in advance, you can't just turn up! If you can find someone else with one you can do the old swicheroo - send them in and then walk out with the ticket and put it in your car. You could try one of the package operators like justtickets or page&moy, they may have something left they haven't sold.

Doing my final packing here. Hardest part done already - getting the fridge in the car
  12. Well, it's a bit early to say, I'll have a better impression after giving it a good thrashing down to Le Mans and back. It does spool later, that's for sure. Where the GT35R would be at full boost at 3.5K ish in 5th, the 67 is more like 4K. But it still seems responsive enough and it feels much faster. One of the reasons I changed was I was getting some compressor surge with the GT35R, especially in 5th which was annoying - I was thinking about porting the compressor cover but changed turbo instead. Now I have an relatively unusual exhaust manifold & FMIC piping so that may have combined to make it spool a bit too soon for its own good!
  13. Just back from Owen's, so the car is now mapped at last! 625BHP@6893rpm and 500lbft@6486 is what it made on the dyno. To say it's fast is a severe understatement, it's like a missile! Still got a few things to do, haven't fitting my new rad and fans yet, still haven't got round to fitting my Mocal power steering rad either. And I need to fab myself a front undertray, duct the rad/FMIC a bit better and tidy the intercooler pipework up a bit. Then I think I shall be off on a quick trip to Germany to see if I can make 200mph
  14. I bought a real cheapy one from Maplin and it was shite, so avoid that! The polishing cloth thing you can't attach tightly enough.
  15. The way the series link feature works, it only bookmarks the next in the series when it starts recording the current one. Also, it only works a max of 2 weeks in advance, so if there's longer than that between episodes it misses it. I think the GP they have the quali down as the same as the GP, so it probably will record the USA qualifying, then when that starts it will mark the actual race down to record.

A hotel and a grandstand ticket? You really are going soft! We'll be on the N138 all the way too as usual, love that road! Gace was a bit weird last year - it was pretty deserted compared to previous years when it's been chock full of exotic cars. I'll be in the Houx campsite again this year somewhere. We're going for flames this year instead of stripes, orange ones apparently. So my car should be hard to miss...

Staying in a hotel at Le Mans is a bit like going to Glastonbury and staying at a hotel 5 miles away. The whole atmosphere of the place is the campsites! Things you MUST have: High factor sun screen - it's usually seriously hot (38 degrees not unknown) and there's virtually no shade. A hat/cap, same as above. Portable radio - you will spend virtually the whole time listening to Radio Le Mans, which is brilliant and the only way of knowing what the hell is going on. Good comfy shoes - you will walk bloody miles. If you're camping: kids inflatible paddling pool - fill with water and keep your beers only luke warm . hosepipe - use to fill your beer cooler and have a shower if you're in a crappy campsite. some sort of gazebo to give you some shade. camping chairs head to the hypermarket and buy a ton of beer, disposable bbqs and dodgy sausages. Things you should do/see: Thursday is good because there's day and night practice and far less people there so you can watch from places like the Dunlop curves without a ton of people in the way. Mad Friday is a must, walk around the pits (and go and see our man Dave Haggas), drive the circuit and go to the impromptu car meet around Indianapolis/Arnage. Then head to the Houx Anexe roundabout if you want to see all sorts of chaos, burnouts, blokes in mobile pirate ships and mopeds with fireworks attached. Total carnage and very funny - take some beers. Head to Tetre Rouge at night, it makes your spine tingle to hear the cars through the trees, downshifting with the brakes glowing. Arnage you also have to go watch from, that's also good at night, but is a nightmare to drive to then as it's so busy. Don't bother watching the start from the start straight - it's way too busy. We've watched the start from Arnage before, which wasn't too bad. Have a look round the campsites, you'll see all sorts of stuff. E.g. A McLaren F1, motorised sofa, a bunch of guys with a full bar complete with TV, optics and draft beer.
  18. The new engine is well and truly run in (done 2500 miles on it now). It was booked in to be mapped a month or so back but I was still waiting on my fuel kit from Dusty so I had to postpone. I fitted the fuel kit last weekend, for which my tip is make sure you use the stock crush washers on the stock fuel filter fitting that goes to the rail or it will leak like a bastard! Anyway, it's going to be mapped on Monday, just in time as I'm going to Le Mans on Wednesday. I'll probably swap in my new Koyo rad and fans tomorrow. Then I'm just waiting on my cam covers with -12 fittings for the bigger breather system - I've got a catch tank and hose and fittings already.
  19. Alternatively, take your spoiler off completely and strap the surfboard to the back and it will look like a Veilside spoiler...
  20. Have fun guys, I won't be there as I've only just got the car running after changing my injectors, rail etc and the fueling is all over the place atm. Need to get busy with the laptop to get it going well enough to drive until Monday when it's getting mapped again!
  21. I tried doing it that way but it ended up overreading. I guess even with the power on it tries to sit lower than 0 and is stopped by the pin.
  22. Took me a while to sus that, just click the continue on to results button at the top.
  23. Well, I'm going to die at the age of 52 of sexual exhaustion! Chance would be a fine thing...
