  1. They're busy thinking "isn't that no1boyracer?" :d:d
  2. Because they are just a push fit, they can leak where they fit into the runners, especially under high boost. I used liquid gasket and have no problems, but welding would be better.
  3. Yeah, xemacs, or gvim. Depends if you're an emacs or a vi sort of person... http://blinkynet.net/comp/vi-man.jpg
  4. If you're using Linux just use an editor and the gcc compiler that will already be installed. You probably have some really good editors installed that will do things like syntax colouring etc anyway.
  5. I just saw a sky advert on one of their channels that said they were going to cut the price of the Sky HD box for all customers in the autumn and that the longer you'd been with them the cheaper it would be. It didn't have any specifics though.
  6. It may be that you're on the limits of what the stock ECU can adjust for. In closed loop it will only lean off (or richen up) a certain amount. You may need to pull more fuel out so it doesn't have to adjust so much.
  7. We use a proprietary toolkit we wrote quite a while back. The interfaces are basically defined in IDL and a code generator generates wrappers. The underlying toolkit uses good old TCP sockets and XDR to encode the data. It's multi-platform too, we used to use VMS machines (some of the code is still in ADA) and we now use SUN Solaris and Intel Solaris boxes, Windows and also the odd Linux box. These days we are running Solaris on VMware.
  8. I work for NATS (National Air Traffic Services, although we're not supposed to call it that any more, "branding" and all that ). We do air traffic control simulations. They are used to train new air traffic controllers and try new stuff out before it gets implemented for real. For example new tools that predict the trajectory of aircraft in the medium term to sort out potential conflicts and enable the controller to handle more traffic - they were all simulated by us. Some of our sims have 30 odd controller positions, each of which has 2 radar displays and a couple of information displays. Then there are >30 pilot positions where guys basically pretend to be the aircraft. Behind it all there is a pretty complex model that simulates the aircraft performance etc, and how they would appear on radar etc. All that lot is basically one big distributed system. No flight sims though, sorry!
  9. Depends what you mean by "network programmer". I'm a software engineer, and our simulations are distributed systems mainly written in C++.
  10. Sounds like the sensor is not plugged in, or has fallen off or something inside the tank if you've just fitted twin pumps in there.
  11. Really? I'm getting it mixed up with the GReddy racing titanium I think. It's very confusing as they seem to have different models and names in the USA where the English websites seem to be. I guess it's actually a Trust. Have you got a link to any info/pics for these? Post up some prices, seems to be a few people interested...
  12. Interesting you should post this. I was thinking of doing the same sometime soon as I'm getting some creaks from the rear and the handling isn't as tight as it used to be. My car is a bit newer (jun 97) but has done a few more miles.
  13. That's with the bung in the back though, which is a big restriction. My Nur spec is quiet enough with the bung in, but insanely loud without. The Tanabe is 93Db without the need for a bung. That's what I'm going to go for fairly soon I think as mine really is annoyingly loud with the single. In fact that's another thing worth remembering. It's all very well saying "my exhaust is nice and quiet" when you have stock turbos, but with a single it'll be a whole load louder.
  14. I've been in Turbo Dynamics since they're just round the corner from me. In fact they did some aluminium welding for me and were very reasonable and did a good job. They certainly have all the gear there, they look like they know what they're doing.
  15. I think thinkauto do them, and the other unions. http://www.thinkauto.com
  16. They are -6 or -10 depending which one you have. Probably -6. You need an O ring to seal the male-male unions.
  17. PMSL! I sense a ban coming on...

    Hey

*waits for this to become the busiest thread in mkivsupra.net history*
  19. It's not the make, it's a Jap standard that says it's road legal in japan.
  20. I think the reason its always on is the hi and low voltage settings. I'd try setting the hi one to 4 and the lo to 1 see what that does.
  21. What did you do to get it working?
  22. Dunno. I think most of the flooding is in the west, so it should be ok.
  23. Fair enough. Can't see it doing any damage fiddling with it.
  24. I think maybe the logic polarity should be 0 if it goes from 5v to 0v when switched on. Mine's got no gas in it, so I think it won't engage anyway.
