  1. Someone at work got all four tyres slashed by that guy. Total nightmare, because you can't even put a spare on and get it to the tyre place. There was one guy who had all 4 slashed, had them all changed the next day and had all 4 slashed again that night!
  2. Yep, I'll be there with a few TVR owning mates. I'll be infiltrating the TVR owners club patch of Houx campsite with the Supra!
  3. Well, shudder under braking points to warped discs. I had some on my old Celica that warped so much they were throwing the balance of the wheel off too so you could feel it even when not braking. Or it could be a wheel bearing.

Unfortunately there's no hole in the base of my seats, so nowhere for the crotch straps to go. Maybe that's a good thing for my chances of ever fathering children (not that I particularly want to!) ...
  5. You haven't been playing with the kph/mph speed convertor I take it? Most just feed a converted signal in to the rest of the car, which means it thinks you are going slower than you are and gives too much assistance. The steering is FAR better when working correctly, but there must be loads of people who don't have it converted correctly.
  6. Brand new tyres need to be scrubbed in for a bit before they grip properly. They use a compound to get them out of the molds that is a bit slippy. So it could just be that.
  7. Yep, they're the fellas. They've done a couple of service jobs that I couldn't be arsed to for me (fuel filter, brake fluid), plus they fitted my decat and exhaust, and changed my clutch and flywheel. They're very good, and pretty cheap too.
  8. I've got a RPS fly and a Southbend kevlar sprung clutch. You still get rattling sometimes, especially when hot. I think the reason for having a sprung one is more to do with reducing the shock to the drive train than rattles. It doesn't bother me. I didn't go for the RPS 6 puck jobbie because the pedal pressure is a fair bit higher I believe, and I drive mine everyday in traffic. I've also heard you get a fair bit a chatter (i.e. some of the pucks grab before the others so you get a judder when engaging it). My Sountbend is a 6 puck too, so you do get this occasionally, but most of the time it's fine, and the pedal pressure is the same as stock (maybe a fraction higher).

Has anyone got harnesses in their car? I.e. 3,4 or more point jobbies. I've got Recaro seats, and I quite fancy some for track days etc, but I'm not sure how you would mount the shoulder straps safely, as they are really supposed to be as near to horizontal as possible. I know Sparco have started selling a harness bar (see this Supraforums thread). The other thing that puts me off is the stories about the danger of "submarining" if you don't have a crotch strap. This is where the force of you pushing on the shoulder straps in an accident causes them to pull the waist belts up so you go under them and cause serious injury. This doesn't happen with a normal seatbelt because the shoulder strap is anchored at the clip. Anyone got any opinions etc?
  10. Dredging this up to ask if anyone has a photo of a Momo (or any other for that matter) handbrake in a Supra? I've only seen the little crappy pictures of the handle, not the whole thing in an actual car...
  11. They don't seem to check models very carefully when imports are first registered in the UK, so your V5 doesn't necessary bear much relation to the actual model. I'm sure there are RZs that are called RZ-S on the V5 and vice versa because it doesn't have a nice easy set of letters on the back for them to check. In fact, when mine was first registered the chassis number was one out. I had to get it changed - all you do is send the V5 back with the alterations and they change it.
  12. 166 round the ring! That really would need a change of underpants...
  13. The amount of boost you get depends on the amount of exhaust gas and hence engine load. So in 1st the engine isn't as loaded at partial throttle as in higher gears, so you don't get as much boost. Nothing to do with the boost controller. (AFAIK!)
  14. Go to www.mkiv.co.nz, click on "specs" and have a look at the chassis plate info bit. The model code will tell you everything you need to know....
  15. Wow, love that photo!
  16. That picture's knackered mate.
  17. That's genuine Nurburgring dirt that is. I thought I'd leave the car dirty like they do with the Le Mans cars at shows afterwards..
  18. And here's a pic of the big brakes (you can't quite see because the spoke is in the way, but the Supra logo is on the calipers)...
  19. Basically you can't guarantee this, as the wheels were optional even on cars that came with the small brakes. From the facelift onwards (which is another possible reason to buy an import - they stopped selling UK cars before the facelift) the RZ came as 6sp with standard large wheels and brakes and the RZ-S with small wheels and brakes as standard, but both seemed to be options. Here's a pic of the small brakes...
  20. That's because you've just come back from the pub pissed mate! Looks the same to me...
  21. So good I'm in there twice Corrected list...
  22. As on the other thread, I'm going and doing a couple of track sessions.
  23. I'm going, and doing a couple of sessions on the track too.
  24. IIRC you use the same code as in messages, so for a hyperlink you use {URL=http://www.wibble.com} wibble {/URL}, but with square brackets "[" and "]" instead of curly ones, I had to change it to display the tags.
  25. I've posted up Herr BMW X5 in the owned section, who wants to do the honours with that flippin' scoobie?
