  1. PMSL! You , you're not getting another thread when it is your birthday, better enjoy this one!
  2. It means the RPM wire. You can find it at the ECU, or from the back of the dials. Here's the ECU wire:- http://www.mohdparts.com/emanage/install/2jz-gte_install/ECU-MAF.JPG Can't remember which wire it is on the back of the dials, but you should be able to find it pretty easily if you take the dials out and have a look at the tracks on the back.

    ECU's

First of all, the stock ECU is not adjustable or remappable. There are several approaches to ECU upgrades:- 1. Stanalone replacement. These are replacement ECUs that are fully mappable and have loads of extra features. They are generic though, so you must create a set of maps from scratch (or from a base map which the installer has) which takes a fair bit of time and therefore money. They are also quite expensive. Examples are AEM, Autronic etc. 2. Piggy back. These attach to the standard ECU and intercept the signals going to and from it. That allows you to make changes to the standard maps. They are less flexible because you are dealing with changes to a base map which you don't know rather than setting absolute values for things. But, they need less setup as you have the standard map to fall back on, and cheaper. Example would be the Emanage. 3. Modified original ECUs/piggy backs. These are mods that have been made to the original ECU, complete replacements or piggy backs that have pre-defined maps for the Supra programmed in. These maps will handle extra boost or whatever that the standard ECU map doesn't cater for. Examples are Mines, one of the HKS FCON things (can't remember which is which now). You can't reprogramme them yourself though. HTH.
  4. Yes, mine did (just). I have a *friendly* MOT place, so it passed the last time too, despite having no cats at all, but it passed the time before legitimatly with the 1st cat removed.
  5. The 25th is Good Friday, so it's a bank holiday. We went on the Thursday and were at the 'ring on the Friday I think - that's why all the petrol stations seemed to be closed when we had the fuel crisis! What's the feeling then? Do we want to go that weekend again or some other time? Not sure whether I would prefer a date when it's not so busy or go to the meet...

    The Dark Side

I've got one of those CF rad panels too, very nice they are. Just a shame about the extra hole for the standard horn that you don't need if you have a FMIC and have moved it.
  7. If you're only going to remove one cat I would take the first one out and leave the second - the first one is the more restrictive. That's what I did originally.
  8. Happy Birthday mate, have a good day/night!

And what was wrong with January eh? A 2100m high mountain pass with a Supra on not exciting enough for you?
  10. The answer to this question depends on whether you're talking about pre or post facelift Jspecs. After the facelift the RZ was manual only, had big wheels & brakes, LSD, uprated ABS & suspension, Recaro seats etc. The RZ-S was manual or auto, and these things were not standard, they were optional. The GZ doesn't exist after the facelift. Before the facelift, the GZ was auto only (with LSD), the RZ was auto or manual, with the LSD standard on the manual and optional on the auto. Both had small wheels & brakes as standard with the bigger ones as options. This is all assuming you're talking about Jap cars.
  11. I've seen a couple of facelifts with indicators in the wings now, TimWildmans is the same. I think they just cut a hole in the wing and mounted them in there. I haven't got any side repeaters since I changed my front bumper - I just stick some temporary ones on for the MOT and then take 'em off again.
  12. Green stuff pads are pretty much universally regarded as being utter shite, on the Supra at least. You've seen the UK brakes group buy that CJs doing I take it?

Still January here! I think it might be January for at least another few months yet, enjoying my moment of fame...
  14. The meet we went to last year at the 'ring is on March 25th, there's a thread up on Supraforums about it here. There's even pics of us lot there last year!
  15. Thought I'd be the first to post a couple of pics from the "photoshoot" this afternoon! Good to see some new faces and catch up with some old ones...
  16. 1. G9RGE 2. Tigger 3. Mawby 4. WSB2 + Steve W2 5. The Restorer 6. Simon B 7. Elliot (pencilled in!) 8. Timwildman 9. Suprachargedtt? Ok, looks like there's a window in my social schedule after all, so I'll be there...
  17. The charge depends on which country it is, but it's not cheap. The last transfer I did was to Japan, and it cost around £15 IIRC.
  18. Tunnels are the best, definitely! :flame Dev Only trouble is you just have to nail it all the way through which means you come out the other end doing stupid speeds! There's on the way from the Eurotunnel terminal in France. Last time I was there I saw the entrance, so obviously changed down, wound the windows down and then nailed it all the way through. Came out the other side doing >150 leptons! Oops.
  19. See that's where you're going wrong at Williams, you want to make your bodywork out of carbon fibre, not metal...
  20. Yep, Toyota, and there isn't an equivalent. Other oils can cause problems with some of the seals swelling up or some such.
  21. Mmmmm, steak Dunno if I'm around or not yet, have to let you know.
  22. Now he tells me! I've spent ages with bits of cardboard and cutting sheet aluminium now! It just needs a bit of trimming and holes drilling etc. I'll see how I go with it - might take you up on a fibreglass one. I presume it goes from the rear mounting points of the standard one to the inside lip of the bottom of the front bumper?
  23. I got a strange message saying I had logged in via an out of date link when I used it the other day, but it worked when I clicked on the "my account" tab again. Try clearing your cookies?
  24. Mine fits absolutely fine, as far as I know the bodyshop had no particular trouble with it. On stock suspension it's fine over speed bumps, the ground clearance is about the height of a curb. Where you have trouble is when there's a change in gradient because of the overhang over the front wheels. I scraped it a bit the other day going into a car park up a slope. One disadvantage is that the front undertray no longer fits. I've been fabricating one out of sheet aluminium which will sort that out. The main reason I bought one is that I wanted a bumper with a big hole to get air to my FMIC (not much point in having one with a stock bumper, half of it isn't exposed), and it looks nice and simple and unfussy. I love the look of it now though.
