  1. Is 1 bottle enough for the scuttle? Ive been thinking of doing this for a while.
  2. Just thought I'd post this here as it may be a promising product once mass produced: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/fobo-tire-world-s-first-all-bluetooth-smart-tpms Basically you get a set of 4 bluetooth sensors for each wheel which bond with your smartphone to give you realtime pressure info. If they get robbed take some comfort knowing the thief cant use them as they are tied to your FOBO Cloud Account...though you'll still obviously be annoyed Alternatively for those with a death like grip on their wallets, purses or manbags, just nip to your local petrol station and pop 50p in to check your tire pressures
  3. Im 37, in a 'medium risk' (wa10) postcode area. I dont think all the mods help, I get the impression they dont mind a couple but if there are several they think im going to be doing doughnuts and burnouts on the local primary playground whilst the kids are on their dinner break!!
  4. Your all jammy, with a clean licence, full ncb, garaged overnight, social use only, 3000 miles and all mods declared my bpu tt costs me just over £700 on a classic policy (though I do have agreed value)
  5. I find the car smoother to drive without any cats in and I get better mpg when taking it easy
  6. Would sell well to a lady with Tritanopia
  7. I've been in a situation where I was in a one way system that has 2 lanes approaching a roundabout. At peak time I was stuck in traffic and an ambulance with flashing lights and sirens came up behind. I was in the right lane with a high kerb to my right, to my left was a bus that couldn't move to its left due to a pedestrian railing. The cars behind and in front of me mounted the high kerb to the right, but I knew if I tried that I'd damage my Supra. I moved over to the right as far as I could without hitting anything but the ambulance didn't pass (I thought there was enough room but I guess he didn't want to chance it). By this time I was sure the other drivers were looking at me thinking "stupid hairy chested medallion wearing idiot" so I saw no other alternative but to put my left indicator on and blast up the center of the 2 lanes as the sea of cars parted...with the ambulance in pursuit. As I approached the roundabout the road widens and there was enough space for me to pull over and let the ambulance past (so as not to look like one of those pricks who use emergency vehicles to jump ques). As the ambulance passed by the driver gave me a thumbs up. So, whilst I'll try my best not to cause an obstruction (more so for emergency services) I wont drive up kerbs (unless there's an oncoming vehicle that looks like it will kill me).
  8. I'm going to do some little jobs on it and sell it - don't drive it enough to justify the cost of keeping it...and don't enjoy always fearing the worst when leaving it parked anywhere but in my garage ...too many knob jockeys about. I'll replace it with a cheap sh*tbox run around so I won't care if it gets dinged, vandalised or stolen. I love the car to bits, always put a smile on my face when driving it (even like an old woman!) - but I don't enjoy owning it due to the paranoia I get when its out of my sight
  9. Thanks for the clarification. Cheers
  10. Apologies for dragging this up again, but I just want to make sure I'm not having a blonde moment! I have a JDM Supra that had a speed converter/delimiter fitted to convert KMH to MPH. Does this mean my Odometer reading of 32026 is still in KM or Miles? Since I've had the Supra I've always thought the converter coverted both the speedo and odo to miles, but now I'm not 100% sure. Cheers
  11. Just had a quick look and cant really get my hand to it with the intercooler hose in the way, dont have time tonight to take it off. Do I take it I should be able to rotate the inner part when the engine is off?
  12. Hi all, My Supra has recently been sat in the garage for 6 weeks without being started up due to work commitments. When I finally got to take it out the other day (its not my daily driver) and turned on the AC I noticed a problem. The AC LED started blinking and the revs dropped, I turned the AC off straight away and when I got back home had a look under the bonnet. Here are my observations: AC OFF: Whilst having the engine running with the AC off the car idles as normal and the outer section of the Compressor pulley moves freely with the drive belt whilst the inner part of the pulley remains static. AC ON: When I engage the AC the engine revs drop (almost stalling the engine), the outer section of the Compressor pulley moves at a slower rate whilst the inner part of the pulley judders as if its trying to move but is siezed. The AC was working fine before the car was left for 6 weeks, I've run the Air Con Diagnostics mode and no errors are raised. I'll hopefully get chance to look at it later in the week, so in the meantime Im looking for your advice on what you think could be the possible culprit of the above symptoms. I have never noticed any unusual noises when the AC was working previously, nor can I hear any audible metallic/grating noises above the engine noise at the moment when I engage the AC. :: Compressor Lock Sensor (dodgy resistance causing fault) :: Metallic Clutch :: Siezed Compressor Any ideas as to what to check or solutions? Cheers Simon Edit Post edited to replace "condensor" with "compressor"
  13. Happening in the St.Helens/Rainford/Ormskirk area too, mainly on the dual carriageways ...noticed an increase in the number of coppers parked up in their camera vans, plus the odd unmarked car I know of.
  14. Only thing going for it is that it doesnt have that fat tosser Mike Brewer on it from Wheeler Dealers. Looking at the presenters on the website you have to ask yourself who really calls themselves "Wolf" or "Professor D"?
  15. I had a code #42 issue that was speed signal related. The MIL light came on whenever i went over 60. Could be duff odometer, dry solder issue on odometer, dodgy speed signal connection near ecu or speedo converter unit. Dont use scotch clamps...ideally dont use any kind of clamping connection...if you can solder connections and shrink rap them. Good luck
  16. Search the forum for the thread detailing how to check error codes with a paper clip. Once you have the code(s) post them up and im sure you wont be short of answers. As a shot in the dark...you may have a loose speed sensor wire causing the engine light to come on....usually when you go over a certain speed.
  17. As per title, I have a 2001 1.9tdi Alhambra (VW AUY engine) and may need a refurbed/new turbo for it. Was looking at a refurb but Ive been told that Garrett dont provide service kits for their VNT turbos. Was wondering if this is true and if there is an alternative kit as opposed to splashing out on a new turbo.
  18. I'm sure you meant they should all be banned FROM life, dont need tossers like that on the roads (or stood in the roads!) - lets give them all lethal injections, free up houses, reduce carbon emissions, reduce the number of unemployed...hmmm, the more I type the more Im motivated to put my ideas in letter form to the PM - the answer to most of his problem
  19. Just a FYI, as real CF is electrically conductive, you wouldnt really want it near anything electrical on the off chance it makes contact (i.e. battery/fuse covers). I cant see CF looking skins/dips having the same issues assuming they are not using materials that are electrically conductive.
