There are some badly thought decorations out there, and some people who dont have a clue what looks nice and what looks like mini-las-vegas. I think when people decorate the outside of their houses like the one above - its mainly for the kids - not the adults. Christmas becomes less special as you get older, whereas for young kids its probably the most magical day of the year. I doubt many young kids think those lights, or the house shown above is crap....it probably makes it a more magical event for them.

Hi everyone, My 95 JDM TT (6sp) came with a HKS FCON V (the silver one that bugger all companies can map). Since getting the car, I have decatted and fitted a walbro fuel pump to go BPU (car already came with boost controller, exhaust and colder plugs). The car still has the stock 440cc injectors as far as I can tell (see pic in this thread). So, given the fact that: :: Im only on stock injectors :: Running what I believe to be stock turbos @ no more than 1.2 bar :: Running Tesco 99 Ron fuel (not sure how different that is to Japans fuel) ...am I really benefitting from having it installed since it was no doubt mapped in Japan with a different spec (plus its costing me more on my insurance lol). I'd love to hear your views on this, as if its not really benefitting me (apart from preventing fuel cut @ 1+ bar) I may as well bin it and hopefully get some money knocked off my insurance. Im happy with the car as it is performance wise, and hardly 'give it death' whilst Im driving. Cheers Simon

Dear knowledgeable guru's ...I need your help badly I have a 95 RZ TT (BPU) that came with a speed converter. Since removing an "Apexi Rev/Speed Meter" (some gadget that measures 0-60, etc) and adding 2 new gauges I've had a code 42 error when I hit 60mph (regardless of boost/revs/gear). Having put the forum search feature through its paces I've come across several informative threads on the problem. To date I have: 1> Checked the Odometer loom for loose wires, etc - none found 2> Fitted another speed converter that Jurgen kindly borrowed me - but that didnt fix it. 3> Since the tripometer does increment, I believe this means the #1 speed sensor is sending a good signal as far as the Odometer, so I fitted a second hand Odometer that I purchased from JezzyBabes - but this didnt fix it Frustrated at this, I pulled up the passenger footwell carpet to check out the ECU loom...and lo and behold I think I've found the problem! Passenger Footwell My car has an FCON V ECU fitted, and as mentioned above it came with an "Apexi Rev/Speed Meter". The footwell looked like this before I touched it (no bird nest comments please lol): http://mooch.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/supra/F-CON_V_6.jpg Since removing the "Apexi I-Monitor", it now looks like this: http://mooch.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/supra/ecu_loom.jpg In the 1st image (when the "Apexi Rev/Speed Meter" was connected) the PINK WIRE (which I believe to be the speed signal input wire) is CUT and connected to the "Apexi Rev/Speed Meter" as follows: :: Pink wire (plug side) connected to PEACH wire of "Apexi Rev/Speed Meter" :: Pink wire (loom side) connected to PURPLE wire of "Apexi Rev/Speed Meter" Having tracked down the installation manual for the "Apexi Rev/Speed Meter" I found this: http://mooch.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/supra/apexi_ecu.jpg Note the lower diagram, showing the PURPLE (PINK in the case of the Supra) ECU wire cut and spliced into the PURPLE / PEACH wires of the "Apexi Rev/Speed Meter". Possible cause of my Code 42 Im thinking that if I re-connect the cut PINK wire my Code 42 problem will be solved. I have attached the "Apexi Rev/Speed Meter" instructions to this post should they be of any use. Do you think Im on the right track or talking bollocks / barking up the wrong tree? Regards Simon Apexi-RSM.pdf

I'd also be interested in this as my current Odo may need some solder action to cure my code 42 error (I guess I'll find out soon enough when I stick a second hand odometer in to see if my problem goes away).

Not all delimiters have a wire going to ECU, the 2 I've seen (not Thor ones) were wired into the loom behind the dials.

Nice one and your welcome

Jez will never make it as a drug smuggler thats for sure...can you imagine someone trying to smuggle something like that up their arse! By the way, my Odometer arrived today Jez....will test it tomorrow hopefully Cheers. Simon

24k (cars still a virgin compared to some - hope it does as well)
-
I was wondering if it was Jezzybabes lol. I've already had a set of wind deflectors off Jez in the past and have just bought a 2nd hand odometer from him that I hope will arrive early this week (code 42 error - but we wont go there!)

Sorry Gaz, I misunderstood your first post. I thought you were saying a boost controller can reduce boost lower than its stock amount - ie: if your getting 1bar boost without a boost controller, you can install one and set boost to 0.8.
-
Boost controllers dont turn boost down - they can only raise boost. If your on stock j-spec tubbies, decatted with restrictor ring and you can reach 1.2 bar on WOT then there isnt much point in getting a boost controller.

Heres some waffle from the THOR Website:

Not trying to do CW's carbon man out of work, but I think my mate could knock out a set of carbon doors (and at a push maybe the moulds too) for less than £1900. My mates website is in my sig - he's done doors for other race cars. His composites are not vac-formed/auto-claved though (like F1 composites), he uses the wet layup technique.

Make sure you have good clearance from the wheels so the tyres don't rub the brakeline. On your fronts, make sure you can go from lock-to-lock without any kinks or straining in the hoses. You may have to adjust the position of the fixing brackets on the lines (can't remember whether it was the fronts or rears that I had to adjust on mine), I had to lube the outer plastic coating and slowly wiggle the bracket up the line so I didnt damage the plastic coating or screw up the braided hose.

If you want to see where you tax money is getting pissed away, check out the Taxpayers Alliance BLOG. They also list 10 Facts on Browns record...he's not as great as he likes to think he is. Im more in favour of splitting up the UK now - though it will never happen. I voted Labour in thinking they couldnt do any worse than the Tories...Im regretting that decision now. However my vote was based on Tony Blair as the main man - not Gordon Brown. If Blair is stepping down, I think the public should say who gets to be PM.
-
Not being funny, but get some pet insurance mate...its worth it. We did with our dog. Glad to hear your cat is ok.

Mr Brown thinks his 'green taxes' will make him popular for the PM job. A small portion of the money raised from Road Tax and Petrol Tax is put back into the roads, the rest is pissed away on non-road related stuff. How can they claim they dont have enough money to maintain the roads? Also, the idea of him introducing this 'green tax' on fuel (and air travel too!) is a p*ss take. How is taxing the UK motorists going to save the world?....when the likes of America, China, Russia and India are far bigger polluters than us? (and we all know the US dont like the Kyoto agreement...and they have cheaper fuel!) Im one more step closer to buying a gun to..... The public transport system at the moment is crap, buses and trains run late, thats if they run at all (oh no - leaves on the track - no trains today)...and theyre over-priced. It'll never happen, but I would love everyone with a car in the UK to leave their car at home one day and use public transport....because the country would come to a grinding halt and then the Government will realise how thick they are and no doubt ask people to use cars again. The day a bus or train can take me from my door to my destination is the day I'll use public transport.
