  1. WinXP Pro AMD Athlon XP 2500 (runs at 1800Mhz) 1gb DDR Ram (can't remember what speed, but matches the CPU FSB) Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe Mobo (decent mobo for its time) 256mb Ati Radeo 9600XT (AGP8X) SB Audigy 2 sound card Will be building a new system when Crysis comes out, based on Intel CPU Core 2 Duo E6600 CPU, Asus P5W-DH Deluxe mobo, 2GB Crucial Ballistix DDR2 800 ram, a Creative X-Fi soundcard and a DX10 PCIe graphics card...not decided yet. I may try AA again at that point in time.
  2. My tax is out this month, so Im off to tax it for 12 months tomorrow (tues) before Gordon rapes the motorists again on Wed.

  4. I played the demo, found the performance to be really poor for the eye candy on offer. Im sure it would be better if you have a decent rig to play it on. Gamewise, it was good, the (enemy) AI was good in the demo, making many a flanking manouver, but the poor performance for me ruined my experience as it was hard to kill someone due to FPS stutter.
  5. The next and last version of DX9 for Windows XP will be DX9L, a half way house between DX9c and DX10. DX10 has been overhauled in a big way, and is more efficient and faster than previous DX9 versions. The new structure of DX10 is responsible for the hardware/driver issues with it. Only 100% DX10 compliant hardware will work with it. Bedtime Reading: http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,1931918,00.asp Its worth noting that there are EAX sound card issues with Vista too, since Vista removed the Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) for DirectSound and DirectSound3D. If you have EAX capable cards, they wont work unless you have a Creative X-FI one with compatible drivers. Bedtime Reading: http://preview.creativelabs.com/alchemy/default.aspx
  6. I wonder if the contention ratio has changed since the merger, as that would have some affect on the speed of your broadband. I am/was with BlueYonder, who had a contention ratio of 20:1, if they have increased that (most ISP's use 50:1) then the speed will go slower.
  7. Here are 2 new videos of the Sandbox editor for Crysis, but it shows some really neat features of what the CryEngine 2 can do: ::Part 1 ::Part 2
  8. How many miles have you done since you reconnected the battery after fitting the AEM AFR gauge? Could it be your ECU needs to relearn still? FWIW, my AFRs go down to 10:1 on full boost @ 1.2bar.
  9. Place the "Nordschleife" folder into the following location: :: x/GameData/Locations/ ...where x is the installation directory for GTR2. I've not had that issue, but any ingame stuttering is an idication of your PC struggling to run it smoothly at the settings you have chosen. You can improve your ingame FPS by downloading FSAutoStart, a tool that lets you configure what background services are running whilst you play the game. The less background non-essential services running, the more resources your system has whilst playing the game. If your using Windows XP, you can also download TuneXP v1.5, which lets you squeeze more performance out of the operating system.
  10. Its a form of legalised rape...mine runs out at the end of this month Have fun tomorrow Chris!
  11. I think it looks nice, but it wouldnt last 10 minutes on our pot-holed speed humped roads.
  12. Is this of any help Tony? http://www.blimeygames.com/files/GTR2%20MoTeC%20i2%20Pro%20Beginners%20Guide.pdf
  13. A BIOS update for the mobo may fix the RAM issue if it is officially recognised as a problem by the manufacturer.
  14. Download FRAPS Tony and show us your lap of the Nurburgring, see if you can have as many 'offs' as I did in mine lol.
  15. Suprattgaz is looking into a modified version of the abflug headlight: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=101240 Im looking into something else but its early days yet so wont post anything till I have a working prototype.
  16. Theres a couple in the works
  17. Forgot to mention, if your odometer/tripometer does increment, then the signal from the #1 speed sensor is OK (eliminating that as a cause).
  18. Here's my DivX movie of my 'tourist' track lap in the lotus elise: :: http://stage6.divx.com/content/show/1150888?user_id=622538 :: http://tinyurl.com/3d9lkm You'll need the DivX player to watch it: http://www.divx.com As you'll see, Im crap lol, but in my defence I still havent memorised the full track. Edit: Youtube WMV version (poorer quality for some reason):
  19. Sounds speed sensor related. If you do the diagnostics check as per Nics link, you will most likely get a 42 error code. If your car is an import (which I believe it is) and its speedo is reading MPH instead of KMH then it will have a speed converter either in the passenger footwell where the ECU is or behind your dials. It could be a knackered one like Nic suggested. Alternatively, it could be a faulty Odometer. Does your milage/tripometer still increment? It could also be related to the Active Spoiler as Nic has mentioned, or a loose speed-related wire to the ECU in the passenger footrest. A search for "Code 42" will give you plenty of reading materials and causes/solutions.
  20. I think you've made the right decision selling the bike Jamie, lets face it....it wouldnt keep up with a Supra
  21. I'd say Adobe Premier or Sony Vegas. I used Sony Vegas to create a 6gb movie in AVI format, which I later converted to DivX (at one heck of a reduced file size lol).
  22. I'll take a butchers if you like.
  23. I spent the day getting high on resin fumes whilst laying up a gt40 rear end ...I was going to wash my Supe but its threatening rain and getting a little dark now, so I opted for spaming these forums and will then go and lie down for a bit.
  24. My Spec isnt that great, in fact you'll probably think it belongs in a museum given todays machines WinXP Pro AMD Athlon XP 2500 (runs at 1800Mhz) 1gb DDR Ram (can't remember what speed) Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe Mobo (decent mobo for its time) 256mb Ati Radeo 9600XT SB Audigy 2 sound card Running game @ 1024x768 on decent enough settings and getting around 50fps on average on most tracks. Im using a Thrustmaster 'formula 1' racing wheel and pedals (ancient lol)...am tempted to get the one Tony mentioned above as its the best out there apparently. I'm in the process of making a video using FRAPS of me doing the 'tourist' lap in the Lotus Elise. I do great until I go down into 1st instead of 2nd on a bend and spin the back end out...then its all downhill from there lol. I will post a link once uploaded somewhere like youtube or google. I also use a program called FSAutoStart to launch my games. It was made for a flight sim originally but can be used for any game. It basically lets you shuts down processes that are running in the background that you do not need for gaming, improving the performance of your system whilst you play the game. It can be configure to restart any process/application you shutdown when you exit the game...a handy tool for squeezing more FPS out your games.
