I need to get my TTE alloys refurbed, but I noticed the TTE center caps stand out alot more - they match pretty well on mine as they are now, and Im worried a refurb may result in them sticking out like a sore thumb (wonder if the lacquer had a tint?).

I have a 2001 SE 1.9tdi Alhambra. It is the same car as the VW Sharan and Ford Galaxy, the shells are actually made at the same factory. I would say when you compare all three, the Seat gives you more for your money in terms of spec - the SE version I have for example comes with front/rear air con, heated front seats, front/rear heated screens, electric windows/mirrors, pas, abs, sportier suspension, adjustable seat/wheel). Inside there is plenty of room (I like my leg room), the seats front and rear are comfy, I get good MPG (especially on motorways thanks to a 6 speed box). You get a good drivers position. In the 3 years I've had it its needed a new turbo (overboost problem) which cost around £500 if I remember correctly, a new aircon pipe (£120) and a couple sets of tyres. The tyres on these cars have reinforced walls and cost over £100 a corner, but you get decent mileage out of them. The engine is nice with good performance, considering the weight of the alhambra. With regards to parts, you can shop around between Ford and Seat for a good price. Have you test drove one?

Probably not best suited to a public forum mate. Maybe one of the mods can move it to private forums. Good on you though - the police seem to do sod all these days when it comes to vandalism. They probably cant be arsed arresting someone, spending the next couple hours doing the paper work...only for the CPS to drop the case because someone forgot to put a full stop somewhere in the report.

The fit can vary for numerous reasons, one of the more common mis-alignment issues is when you have a 2 part mould (ie:bonnet) where you have one mould that makes the outer skin and one mould for making the inner frame. When you come to bond them together, getting the alignment of the inner and the outer composites wrong will have noticecable effect (ie: bonnet edge will align closer to one wing than the other). The thickness of a composite can also cause alignment issues, especially on 'wet lay' composites where the thickness of the composite can vary depending upon how well it was rolled out (and how many layers of composite it is comprised of).

When Im not working for myself I work for my mate at his composites company. We tend to make numerous things for race/rally cars. Most of the work is 'wet lay' (cheap and cheerful) but recently we've started doing vac formed composites cured in an oven. As a test, we created a pure CF bootlid for an Alfa 75. A standard bootlid weighs 8.3kg, a 'wet-lay Kevlar/Carbon one weighs 3kg, the pure CF vac formed one weighs 1.5kg. The pure CF one is really strong with little flex. As Chris said, you'd probably need a pure CF vac formed bonnet to save weight over the stock one, though they cost a lot more to make (both the tooling and composite) and it may be easier (from a weight saving point of view) to just go on a diet With regards to 'bling' composites, few gelcoats are UV stable, and whilst you can get UV Inhibitor to mix into a gelcoat there's no way of knowing that it has been mixed perfectly, which over time can cause the gelcoat to go milky in certain areas.

Stumbled across the Zero Punctuation video review website, covering games. Quite funny, but not something to watch from work or whilst your gran is visiting and you have your speakers on max volume. Does anyone have a 'night' pic of a fully lit stock Supra dash? I was wondering if I had full illuminiation or if a couple bulbs needed replacing.

White, East Lancs heading to billinge at Waterside junction

If Havard lives around this way, it may have been Ste D, I base that on the fact he visited Havard not so long ago: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=136153 -
White, East Lancs heading to billinge at Waterside junction
Angarak replied to Angarak's topic in Was it You?
It was yesterday (9th) Phil. Original post updated -
Just after 5pm on Wednesday 9th, you where on the East Bound (manchester way) East Lancs, turning left @ the Waterside Junction (Car Mill Damn) as if you where going to billinge. I was at the Lights opposite but I doubt you'd have been 'scouting' for Supras at the time...more so with it being dark at that time Only got a quick glance, but it looked nice a nice white supra from where I was (couldnt read the reg as there was a car following you and it got in the way).

Have you ever seen the Autopsy: Emergency Room series on C4 late at night? They did one looking at the main blood vessels in the body, and then covered stab victims. I was shocked at how easy it is to die from a stab wound (even shallow ones).

I had a mate who took up boxing to lose weight, within 3 months he had lossed a load of weight and look a load better for it. I just hope the new boxing school near you is not the 'Frank Bruno Boxing Academy', they teach to you to tire your opponent out by punching their hands with your face.

I think it looks OK and I'd like to think Im past my 'chav' stage in life. I couldn't think of a worse place to park it though (next to a trolley park) ....the number of numpteys I've seen pushing trolleys around bumping into stuff, then you have the possessed trolleys which go where *they* want, and then you have the social scumbag who just pushes the trolley in the direction of the trolley park assuming it will find its way there after pingballing off several cars.

I believe there is a difference between a UK spec and J-Spec master cylinder. Maybe someone with better knowledge will correct me, but Im under the impression that if a JSpec came with the brake upgrade (aka UK brakes) from the factory it should have a UK spec master cylinder. If it came with jspec brakes it will have a jspec master cylinder. If you upgrade to UK spec brakes, I believe its a good idea to match it with a uk spec master cylinder. EDIT See JohnA's post regarding the MC here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=950802&postcount=12

You can't tease people by saying your car looks amazing and then not post any pics, "a picture says a thousands words" as the saying goes

In St.Helens you have Joe Walsh's near the McDonalds roundabout on the link road (near Sherdley). I've had bodywork done on my Alhambra by a company in Warrington, can't remember the name of the company but they where recommended by the Insurance Company and they did a great job. I'll try to find out an post back on here. -

Angarak replied to Angarak's topic in Was it You?
It must have been another Supra owner then as I was driving my Seat Alhambra. My Supra's been in my garage for the last 3 weeks as some of the roads around here have been pretty slippy with the gritters and poor weather we've had of late. If your formerly from Knowsley Road, you'll probably know BleakHill road which takes you towards the East Lancs (Windle Island). That is like driving on ice sometimes! Funnily enough, before I past you, I saw a gun metal grey Supra in Walmesley Road at the shops, and then a white supra parked up on Springfield Lane, before heading down Church Lane and then left into Millfields where I saw your accident. Glad to hear your OK. Is your car still in St.Helens or did you get it recovered back to Wakefield? -
Black Supra in accident on Knowsley Road, St.Helens
Angarak replied to Angarak's topic in Was it You?
A police volvo was already on scene when I drove past. The collision was between the Supra and a Ford of some kind, possibly a focus. The supra had been hit from behind (thats what I assumed with the back end being caved in), and was parked on the pavement.
