The younger generation seem to overlook the fact that the older generation knew life before the EU and they've spent a good chunk of their life in the EU.
They have experienced both the good and the bad of EU membership, some of them would have voted for EU membership initially and may have changed their opinion based on their life experience of the EU.
You cant ignore them on the basis that they're old and will retire/die soon. They're more patriotic than most of the younger generations. I've seen some ignorant comments from remainers saying the likes of "congrats old people, you've just ruined your pension", you know what, i think the older generation would do that happily if they believed it would be better in the longterm for their families - their generation made great sacrifices for this country.
