  1. The NV goggles arent proper ones, just toy versions made in china (there are pictures on the IW PC forums)

  3. I think games (and other media such as mags/tv) can desensitise people, which may cause certain actions to be less shocking to some than it is to others. For example, the film "SAW" would have caused huge outrage back in the 60's, however by todays 'standards' its just another horror flick. People have more access to media today than in the past, especially when it comes to computer games. I think most gamers play computer games as a means of escapism from their day to day lives, its a fantasy world, but it is important to remember that it is fantasy and not real at the end of the day. As long as people know the difference between whats real and whats fantasy, and assuming they are raised to know the difference between good and bad, then I dont see how playing a game (or watching a movie) can turn you into a killer or other undesireable low life. To date, I've seen many horror flicks and played many violent computer games and I've not had the need to headshot anyone or mow anyone down in the Supra for 50 points and an extra life.
  4. Whilst the PC platform may arguably be the best for FPS games due to its superior accuracy with the mouse/keyboard combo (not to mention higher spec), the actual MW2 for the PC has been so dumbed down you're basically paying full whack for a very short single player experience that is quite frankly an XBOX 360 port. The MP experience is based on a peer-to-peer network structure like most console games, which isnt suited to FPS games where minimal latency is a priority. Here's some facts about MW2 on the PC (and consoles): - no console - no leaning - no record function like cod 5 - no Mods - no Dedicated Servers - game has to be played as stock/default (unless you buy IW DLC) - MP supports maximum 18 players (9v9) - MP game will pause for 5 seconds when host migration occurs. http://undead.mygameclan.com/user/244066/gallery/432282/features.jpg You just have to head over to the Infinity Ward MW2 PC forums to see how much contempt they have shown to the PC community, their devs also come across as arrogant console fanboys. Alot of buyers on the PC platform are going to be in for a shock. As for console gamers, its probably worth the money since most of the above isnt in a console game to begin with, and since few console games use dedicated servers for low-latency gameplay, they all think pings of 100+ms is acceptable. If you dont think modding is important, your missing out on great FREE extras such as this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QMNpVrrELDM. Its also worth noting that several features of MW2 have been taken from community mods (ie: AC130/Tactical Nuke perks)

    Modern Warfare 2

There's already a leaked torrent of MW2 on the consoles doing the rounds on the t'internet.
  6. I dont think there is a problem with mine, its still working fine, so Im hoping my aircon unit is very efficient and the water im seeing is just condensation from the pipes behind the bulkhead.
  7. Does this sound/look familiar Stick-R? http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=192605

    Modern Warfare 2

I (and other members in our clan) have cancelled our pre-orders and signed he petition. Given that MW2 is based on the same engine as COD4 (which supports dedicated servers/mods), the only reason IW have dumbed down the PC version and lumped us with an inferior P2P solution (aka IW.NET) is to make more $$$ as they can now charge for DLC. It is the end of the line for this game on the PC, its MP will be as big a fail as Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising (another P2P networking MP game).
  10. Hi all, I have a Greddy E-Manage Blue piggy back ECU with: :: GREDDY E-Manage Ignition Harness :: GREDDY E-Manage Injector Harness :: GREDDY E-Manage Support Tool (USB clone) :: GREDDY E-Manage Pressure Sensor :: GREDDY E-Manage Pressure Sensor Harness ...with a brand new Fields field harness like the one below: http://www.field-net.co.jp/lineup/onetouch/cn70_top.jpg My intention was to get my BPU car mapped at a localish company in Wigan a while back, however that company went tits up leaving nowhere local to me that 'specialises' in mapping Supras. I know there are several tuners on this board, however given that I did less than 1000 miles in the car between MOTs Im in two minds to give up on mapping the car and selling the package. My question is, if I opted to sell, what would the above be worth as a package? The EMB ECU is 2nd hand, purchased from a member on here a good while back, its never been fitted to my car. The Fields field harness is brand spanking new (purchased from Nic). Cheers Simon
  11. Anyone here got this yet? Talk about misleading advertising, CodeMasters should be fined for misleasing the public with 'ingame footage' that was not REAL ingame footage and heavily photoshop'd screenshots. The visuals are pathetic for a 2009 game. The quote "As close to war as you ever want to get" is laughable, it is not a milsim like the ArmA series (though they'd like you to think so). The game seems to be a cross between Ubisofts Ghost Recon and Novalogics Delta Force series (visually looking more like the latter!). Gripes so far: :: The environment is not as destructible as they made out (you cannot destroy a small tree in a tank for example). :: The vehicle physics are not realistic, drive over a big blade of grass and you'll flip! :: You cant move your head whilst driving a vehicle. :: You cant lean. :: The AI cant shoot a barn door from 5 yards. :: No dedicated server files for MP, no MP anti-cheat protection and no cd-key on release (a pirates delight arrrgggh matey!). :: In MP, if you get shot it takes several minutes to bleed out, thats several minutes stuck on the floor unable to do anything...unless (a) a medic saves you, or (b) a colleague puts you out of your misery! This game uses the EGO engine, the same game engine as CodeMasters DIRT and GRID titles. The EGO engine is built around P2P networking, therefore it would appear there will be no dedicated server package released! Apart from the above, its not a total waste of space, the gameplay can be rather enjoyable, even if the AI does do some retarded things now and then. One thing is certain though, this isnt the game everyone thought it would be. Disclaimer: Written from a PC point of view. Im sure this is the best thing since sliced bread to console users, however PC users expect more.
  12. Im assuming the police where called to the scene. If the police investigation clears your GF of any blame in the accident, dont think that is the end of it! As soon as the police have completed their accident report - ask for a copy of it and keep it safe! The biker has 3 years to find an ambulance chaser to put in a claim.

  14. Its better than a piece of string with a styrene cup at the end
  15. Its not just the rear that looks impressive, I had to pick up my uncles car and get my mate to drive my supra back. A supra in the rear view mirror is equally as impressive - looks very intimidating even from a distance, just has loads of road presence IMO.
  16. You would download themes and upload them to the web server for whichever ecomerce package you opt for. In Magento for example, themes can either be uploaded manually by yourself or via the Magento Connect Manager (Magento Admin Back end) which will install the theme for you automatically (it auto-downloads the theme from another server). You need to look at the features offered by the various ecommerce packages, find one that meets your needs (some may be too basic, others too complex, etc). Several ecommerce packages also have 'bolt-ons' which add further functionality, for example in Magento these are called 'Extensions'. You may want to consider getting some quotes from designers to get an idea of your likely costs, if the quoted costs are outside the limits of your budget then you can look at trying it yourself and possibly purchase a book or two on a given ecommerce package. I couldnt comment on 123reg, I've never used them. You should note that Magento requires a certain operating environment to perform well (it uses quite a bit of memory), therefore if you did opt for Magento make sure you use a host who specialises in hosting it - such as NuBlue for example.
  17. Just thought I'd mention the SEO optimised Magento Ecommerce software (http://www.magentocommerce.com), there are many companies specialising in this software package. An example of a company in the UK would be NuBlue - http://www.nublue.co.uk (I have no links to them!) If your selling something unique (ie: Guatamalan Midget Nymph lube) then SEO would be easier than something more common (ie: toothpaste). Bear in mind that relying on Search Engines alone to bring in custom is not the best approach, SEO is important, but so is promoting your business through other mediums. The most time consuming part (hence the initial cost) is building the catalog of items you will sell (creating categories, attributes, sourcing images, product information, etc)...it is very time consuming!
  18. They where made by a company called RadTec (http://www.radtec.co.uk) and can still be purchased from them. From what I've read it is a deeper SMIC than stock and I've heard that you *may* have trouble fitting the drivers side inner arch panel that sits at the back of the SMIC.
  19. Good to know we have mobile jamming too, shame about the infrared issue.
  20. Wasnt there some form of mobile signal jamming counter measure deployed to counter such 'mobile triggered' IEDs? Not sure if our lads have it, but I thought the yanks had something along those lines to prevent the bombs going off when they where near them.

    Condoms

Saw this on another forum and thought it was quite funny. Imagine if all the major retailers started making their own condoms and kept the same tag-line... Sainsbury Condoms - making life taste better. Tesco Condoms - every little helps. Nike Condoms - Just do it. Peugeot Condoms - The ride of your life. Galaxy Condoms - Why have rubber when you can have silk. KFC Condoms - Finger licking good. Minstrels Condoms -melt in your mouth, not in your hands. Safeway Condoms - Lightening the load. Coca Cola condoms - The real thing. Pringles condoms - once you pop, you can't stop. Burger King Condoms - Home of the whopper. Goodyear Condoms - for a longer ride go wide. FCUK condoms - no comment required. Muller light condoms - so much pleasure, but where's the pain? Halfords condoms - we go the extra mile. Royal Mail condoms - I saw this and thought of you. Andrex condoms - Soft, strong and very very long. Renault condoms - size really does matter! Ronseal condoms - does exactly what it says on the tin. Domestos condoms - gets right under the rim ! ! ! (Please). Heineken condoms - reaches parts that other condoms just cannot reach. Carlsberg condoms - probably the best condom in the world. AA Condoms - for the 4th emergency service. Pepperami condoms - it's a bit of a animal. Polo condoms - the condom with the hole
  23. I read the thread title and thought your brakes had failed
  24. Would anyone know of any reputable Emanage Blue tuners in the North West? Apologies if this has been asked to death, I did search using several terms but came up blank. Cheers
