  1. Cheers Supradibbs Nice wheels....PM me what your looking for them and the tyres fitted? Note - are they currently UK available? Would it be gods own nightmare tracking down a single wheel?
  2. Dilemma.... replace tyres on my current 17" alloys or go for a set of 18"? If anyone has a set of 18" alloys for sale with good tyres to fit Jspec TT I would be interested. Not looking for anything too high end or expensive as working to a budget. Please PM me. Cheers (note, tyres need to have loads of life in them, not looking for rims on their own)
  3. I have never heard of your problem but there are some trojans out there that open back doors up on peoples computers allowing hackers to do all manor of weird stuff (open cd drives, listen and talk through speakers, flip screens, plus more malicious stuff) might be worth running a full system scan with a decent AV.
  4. Totally gutted for you.....utter *******! Makes me very angry! Just a thought and might be worth a phone call. A guy I used to know worked for a company called Cryogenesis http://www.cryogenesis.co.uk/index.asp?PageID=1 who use high pressure dry ice blasting to clean all sorts of kit. Although its a type of blasting it is totally non-abrasive and can be used on big industrial applications down to delicate things like circuit boards! I have no idea if this may help but they may be able to strip the stuff off the car without damaging the underlying paintwork?
  5. I made a similar error of judgement once and turned up to a fancy dress event in a wet suit....after about 15-20 mins I was almost passing out with the heat and had to go home! Doh!

    Reposts

Agree, I now start a new thread with 'sorry if this is repost' as nearly everything of interest has been covered before.
  7. They said on the radio this morning that he viewed his charity work as 'the rent you pay on earth' which I thought was a nice way to look at things and a measure of the guy. What a shame....RIP JB
  8. Mine started to rattle which ended up being the alternator belt tensioner, so decided it was a good indicator to get everything changed up front. I got the timing belt and tensioner and alternator belt and tensioner changed and all bits supplied main dealer (Steve Manley - 01865 291300 or [email protected]) he will sort you out a good deal.
  9. mine started to grumble a bit - only option is to change it....although a word of advice its not cheap!
  10. If its a repost.....as usual sorry but its the first time I have seen it Amazing stuff and the last picture is brilliant!!!
  11. I know...there have a few threads on this already but has anyone sussed this yet? I had TT5 on my old phone and it worked great! But apparently TT6 is needed with the newer phones. So I called TomTom who tell me there is no upgrade path and I need to buy the software all over again (which I think is a rip off considering how often people will be changing their phones), plus the N95 is not supported anyway under TT6!!! Now I know it sort of works as a mate has it on his N95 but it is clunky and often freezes etc. Has anyone here got this sorted and equally have they managed to do it without it costing a chuffin fortune with TomTom?
  12. I agree, it gets on my **** that they expect me to pay to take a piss and wash my own hands. It may be a shock to them but I have been able to perform this task on my own without assitance for some years now! Its like the old joke, Man takes a piss and goes to walk out without washing his hands and the 'robbin bstard' sorry cloakroom attendant says did your mother not teach you to wash your hands? No replies the man, she taught me not to piss on them in the first place!!!!
  13. Whats the rental market like in the area? What is the likely rental return pcm on that type of property?
  14. Looking for a road warrior to soak up plenty of miles as I am doing around 20,000 per year at the moment. My current diesel Peugeot has racked up around 190,000 now and is not far from coughing its lot! Looking for an estate ideally and for the money I want to spend £3-4k I was thinking of a Mondeo/Focus but the last Ford I owned was a Sierra so if anyone can vouch for their reliability running costs, mpg etc I would be grateful. Plus any other vehicle suggestions also welcome.
  15. Yesterday, White L reg, on the hard shoulder with a police car behind. Hope it was a breakdown rather than getting pulled!

    Air rifles?

IMO your better off getting a good second hand rifle than a cheap new one. They are what they are! One in particular rifle that springs to mind in the bottom end of the price spectrum would be .22 calibre, Webley Tracker. Its been around for years now so someone will be selling one off cheap and they are a great compact hunting rifle. Dont waste time and money on a cheap one its just not man enough for the job. Your more likely to kill the rabbit clubbing it to death with the rifle rather than hitting it with a pellet!
  17. james - I think its a box sensor causing the problem - dont know whick one though (I have it, but only happens on the odd occasion). As a quick fix, pull the stick into L and drive off manually, once into D it should be OK. If your looking to reverse, do the same, pull the stick into L (wait to feel it engage) and push it back up to R and you should be OK. I have posted the issue before as others have it but to my knowledge no one yet has cured the problem? Hope this helps.
  18. James Where abouts in Hartley Witney are you?

    XBox

Agree.. the Wii is fine for about 20 minutes but once over the novelty is only useful if you have little kids or have partys when everyone is plastered! I gave mine away....its not a games machine like the 360 or PS3. Although back to the main thread, I would be cautious of getting the 360 over the ps3. I love them both so have no axe to grind. Assuming the problem with the 360 is fixed (my mate is now on his 5th Xbox!!) there is the war over HD DVD and Blu-ray. On reading recent articles many people believe that Blu-ray is the victor and HD DVD will fizzle out! This then might be worth considering the PS3 as its still one of if not the cheapest Blu-ray player out there!
  20. It makes me want to cry......why am I so poor!!!!!
  21. Look at Marketsafe, if you haggle you can get a year subscription for about £400 which will give you something like 20,000 downloadable contacts and with this you have access with all marketing details, addresses, tel numbers, faxes etc to every company in the UK. You can filter by sector, TPS register, Ltd non Ltd etc... also gives you credit check information as well.
  22. ADSL should be fine - plug in the ethernet cable and go through the relevant set up in the PS3 menu. You have to register for live play, give yourself a gamer tag etc.. No downloads unfortunately as its a chip that processes the PS2 games thats been left out of the 40GB units to make them cheaper. However, those lucky enough to have bought a 30GB or 60GB PS3 (before they were discontinued) should find that most of their old PS2 games work.
  23. A good friend of mine used to be a mechanic twisting spanners in his dads garage on £12k per year. He left that and went into IT and worked his way through some rubbish telesales jobs eventually getting into Channel Account management, worked at this, and worked at various companies collecting contacts along the way. Its who you know not what you know! His personality is brilliant and can talk as happily with the caretaker as he can with a high level boardroom director and this is a skill that cant be learned! To cut a long story short he is now CEO of a company that is currently valued at between £50-100m and has a significant shareholding. A long way from working in a rural garage 8 yrs ago!
  24. COD4 is excellent and I love the graphics but game play live is not as strategic as GRAW2 so thats my preffered game still. Can usually be found playing GRAW2 or WSOP 2008? My ID is FASTCASH-UK
