  1. I have had this problem on mine. Sometimes when you start up and go to pull away the `slip control` light flashes. In its worst case on mine you go to pull away it feels like the gearbox has not engaged and it sometimes shudders to a stall! Which is impressive on an auto!!! I have been told that its some sort of sensor at the gearbox (this might be wrong) and it can be disabled/replaced but its so infrequent (2/3 times per year) I have not bothered.
  2. Hi Darryl, nope not me. I have seen another Silver Sup that trawls up and down the M4 daily. Dont know who this is and have put a post up for them before, if it is you check your rear lights as you have got a bulb out!
  3. Read this question, come up with an answer and then scroll down to the bottom for the result. This is not a trick question. It is as it reads. A woman, while at the funeral of her own mother, met a guy whom she did not know. She thought this guy was amazing. She believed him to be her dream guy so much, that she fell in love with him right there, but never asked for his number and could not find him. A few days later she killed her sister. Question: What is her motive for killing her sister? [Give this some thought before you answer, see answer below] > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Answer: She was hoping the guy would appear at the funeral again! If you answered this correctly, you think like a psychopath. This was a test by a famous American Psychologist used to test if one has the same mentality as a killer . Many arrested serial killers took part in the test and answered the question correctly. If you didn't answer the question correctly, good for you. If you got the answer correct, please let the other forum members know that your an axe waving maniac!
  4. Was it you? Lovely condition Saphire Blue! Followed you down the A4.
  5. Everyday for the past 3 yrs - on a quick calculation that means I have done over £7800 in fuel alone without even considering servicing, insurance, tyres, tax etc! I must be mad!
  6. In some cases could it also be where the rear seat hinges? In my old car the rear seats used to squeak a bit where the seat hinged and locked into place?
  7. Thanks for the ideas so far. I did have a new rad put on in the summer, but surely this would not have held an air lock for this long? Whats the best way to check?
  8. First chilly morning, Christmas is on its was! So I thought I would use the heater for the first time this year. Turned it up to hot and ........ only a tiny amount of warm air If I give her some stick then I do get a burst of warm air but if its idling then its almost cold. Is this a blocked matrix? If so whats the best way to sort it out? I cant be driving to work with a hat, coat and gloves on all winter.
  9. Silver one, not me! The black one could be `Dylant`.

    odd whine

I have started a few threads regarding a whine I am getting at certain revs, usually when the boost starts to come in. Its not the `death whine` but is a loud howl/drone noise. You can hold the noise if you keep the revs constant, as soon as you give it just a bit more gas/or back off slightly it stops instantly? There have been quite a few suggestions from split pipes causing a boost leak to prop bearings. Ultimately I am going to have to get it looked at, if I get a successful diagnosis of the problem I will post it up.
  11. I have this also, done it ever since I bought the car 3 yrs ago. (slight tappet sound on idle). Having heard a few more sup`s since I think they all do it to some degree. Some of the tech guys should be able to add more information on this, I may be wrong but I am led to believe the tappets are self adjusting so theres not a great deal that can be done regarding the sound? Anyone?
  12. Sorry for the quick hijack of the thread! One question. Can you just fit aftermarket 4" speakers in the fronts without having to do any bracket mods? Having spoken to someone else whos has put 6" in the front they said you would never find speakers to directly replace the existing ones? I find this hard to believe as theres loads of choice these days even in the 4" range?
  13. Branners Spotted my deliberate mistake.... full marks! I was waiting for someone to spot this once I posted it!

  15. Dave Good question, one that I have been pondering for a while. I use mine everyday and need something reliable (as well as fun). Mines on the verge of 130k and I think a BPU might just kill it! Any thoughts
  16. Michael Out of interest where did you get your clear front indicators from (I presume this is why you have the orange type for sale). Did you OEM Toyota or aftermarket.
  17. Thanks Jake, really appreciate your help! Hopefully someone has some hands on experience with these! Anyone?
  18. Bugger! I knew there would be something like that! Thanks Jake, that would be useful.
  19. Tech Bods Does anyone know if an auto N/A diff is the same as an auto TT diff (jap spec). Cheers!
  20. Cheers Guys Will PM them just in case!
  21. Under further investigation of my strange `howling` noise there is some evidance pointing towards a noisy diff? Although this still needs to be properly looked at by the garage I am just checking to see if anyone happens to have an auto diff available? The car is a stock 93 TT and i`m just looking for a second hand unit if possible. Had a few expensive months recently and want to try and get this sorted for as little money as possible. If you have a diff available please PM me.
  22. The `tinkling` noise happens when the box is in drive/reverse and you are crawling along with no accelerator. ie at 1mph. The two noises may be unrelated but I am suspicious that something is `Howling` as its close to death and the `metallic` sound it a result of what ever it is!
  23. Thats my next step. I think it will pick up the `Howl` but the metallic plinking sound is only just audible.
  24. No not death whine. That was my first thought but would be highly unusual on ceramic turbos. It sounds mechanical?
