  1. After nearly 4 years of loving my TT she has to go as I am setting up a new company and need something more practical. Spec: Silver 1993 (K) GZ Twin Turbo, auto. 125,000 miles J-spec, first UK registered 1-2-97 Usual GZ Spec: Leather Seats (electric drivers) Leather Steering wheel (with airbag) Leather gear shift (auto with overdrive) 7 speaker stereo system Active front spoiler Cruise control Standard stuff: Power steering Central locking Electric/heated mirrors ABS Traction control Electric windows Air con/climate control Additions: Cat back stainless steel exhaust, bespoke fitted to car by Blue Flame Performance, sounds great HKS air filter, some people dont like these but on mine you get a great induction noise which I love! Kosei 17" alloys, in good condition Koni adjustable front suspension Panasonic head unit, 6 disc CD changer, amp and sub (although the ICE is nothing spectacular and would have been this years project if I kept the car) Cat 1 alarm/immobiliser, works with central locking keyfob. (certificate included for insurance purposes). Private plate (VIL ****) which will stay with the car. Rear fogs in lights (no unsightly after market lights) Service: Full 12 months MOT just done, passed without fault. Tax till July Serviced regularly at a local garage who I have dealt with for years and trust implicitly Folder full of bills, servicing, parts etc Just had oil change and fluid check done. Good tyres all round, car has only done a few thousand miles since all 4 where changed. Does it need anything? Two things to sort out at some point: The subframe bolts could possibly do with a spanner check, I did have this done at Phoenix a while back but think they could do with looking at again. I still sometimes get a `howl` on acceleration which I think is a split in an IC hose somewhere. Again I had one of the hoses changed at Phoenix which improved it but I think there is another one that needs investigating further. As the noise is intermittent and there is no loss of performance I have not bothered to do anything over winter. General: If you are looking for an honest, fairly standard Supra this is ideal. The body work looks as good up close as it does in the photos with only one or two minor blemishes. NB, the head lights look blue as they are covered with a special high impact material that I imported from the US (also gives off a HID look). Price: I am aware that the current price on Supras has dropped and that mine has a few more miles on it that some people would look for, therefore the first person to wave £6000 in my face can have it! I you are interested PM me or call me on 0789 990 6160.
  2. Unfortunately time is drawing ever closer to me having to at some point put my beloved Supra up for sale. My question is do I let people test drive her? I had a friend who allowed someone to test drive his GT4, 1/2 a mile into it the nobber booted it and went up the arse end of another car. As he was not insured to drive it so it got very messy and ended up with my mate losing wads of cash! For people who have sold Supras before whats the best way to go about a test drive? My initial feelings are to drive it myself so they get a feel for it but not actually let them drive. However, I dont know as if I would buy a car myself without test driving it!!!! Dilemma, help!!!!
  3. HKS Supperdraggers are a bag`o`shite IMO. I had one on mine, they cost a fortune and are mild steel from the box back so just rust through at the weld points. I had mine repaired a couple of times then gave it up as a bad job as it just keeps on going. The only way to save the box is to get the back pipe fabricated out of stainless steel, although if your like me you will just give up on the shitty old thing and go for a full stainless system. HKS.....what a rip off!

    Need a TT!

Looks like I will be selling mine in the near future due to a change in my job. Have not decided how much I want for her yet but it will be realistically priced. Going to get an MOT on her in a few weeks and then probably post it up for sale on this site so keep an eye out for it.

    Airbag light

Adam, this method does work although can take a bit of time to get it right. You will definately need someone sat in the car to tell you when you've got it right and the lights gone out.
  6. I guess this goes in the chat section as I am just canvassing opinions at moment. My job is changing in a few weeks and it looks like after 3.5 great years together, the Sup may have to go She is a Silver GZ TT (usual full GZ spec, leather, cruise, etc) registed 93, 125,000 miles, mostly standard except for 17" Kosei alloys, cat back stainless steel exhaust & Koni front struts, plus a few other bits`n`pieces. Nice, cared for clean car inside and out? Roughly whats it worth?

    Pissing Contest!

What I was trying to say in my first post is I sometimes wonder at the `way` some people come across on this forum. Are they attempting to be helpful (as you would hope) or just making a post to show how clever they are without actually helping at all! There are various levels of knowledge on the forum on all topics (not just the tech section) and are we not all on here to learn from each other? I just sometimes feel that on more than a few occasions there seems to be the odd `pointed` comment introduced to a thread that is not helpful, or required.

    Pissing Contest!

Just a bit of a winge. I have been on the forum for some months now and on the whole its very informative with some great characters. However, I do sometimes feel its a bit of a `pissing contest` on some topics. As an example on the `Tech Forum`, some of us are clearly less technical than others and we rely on the knowledge and help from other members. In these instances some members use it as a opportunity to `flex` their superior knowledge to make you feel like a t**t for asking the question in the first place and ultimately dont help at all. Is it me or does anyone else sometimes feel the same way?
  9. Supra-Dupra, with all due respect how do you know! If all you have used is this product how can you be sure its catching everything? Just because it has not found anything does not mean there is nothing there! Just because your machine still runs does not mean there is no spyware running in the background! What the eye does not see the heart does not grieve over!
  10. Not wanting to tout business but free security software has its limitations. The thing to think about is if its free how much time, money and resourse can they put into the product? Remember `youre only as good as your last update`!!! We (McAfee Security) spend millons per yer in R&D to keep one step ahead of the unpleasant things out there and unfortunately is a never ending cycle. Its also worth bearing in mind that anti-virus solutions alone are now only part of the puzzle. Really you need a good AV, spyware solution, desktop firewall (& possibly anti-spam solution depending on how you use e-mail) if you want to try and keep your machine as clean as possible. I would seriously look at investing in a trusted & industry proven security solution if you value any information on your machine or use it for internet purchases, on-line banking etc...
  11. I remember when I first saw a Supra back in 93, I was a student at Southampton Uni (penny-less of course). When I first saw one.... wow... thats the car for me... big bonnet, big wheels, vents and A MASSIVE REAR SPOILER!!! Taking it off is losing the identity of the car IMO. 90% of the cars on the road have crappy, worthless spoilers but the Sup is different. Its there to say to other drivers, `beware this car is so fast and in your face it might just take off and fly the rest of the way home` ;0)
  12. Why would you want to remove it? I want my sup to look like its doing 100mph standing still and dumbing down the looks just makes it look odd IMO! However i`m sure there are others out there who hate the rear spoilers!
  13. Sky I can confirm this is a top bit of kit. A mate of mine has one, we went over to France a short while ago and it was easily giving my `Dynojetted` Fireblade a run for its money. The ride, brakes and handing are superb! Plus it looks the nuts..... Top Choice!
  14. sorry just saw your link..... duhhhh
  15. Thanks SkyJawa, thats what i`m looking for. I`m not massively up on the technical stuff, is it easy to do? Do you know of a post anywhere that helps you go through the process?
  16. To be totally honest I dont know now? When I bought the car I was told it was delimited but clearly this was a bit of sales speak! If you have the same issue and its the limiter that controls the top speed of the cruise control then I guess thats the problem. Thanks
  17. Guys can anyone help here. As some of you know i`ve had my sup now for years and to be honest never bothered with the cruise control as its pretty much a waste of time on todays roads. However, I am now doing more motorway driving at night and having the sup sit at `Ahem` mph would be useful. Problem I have is that you can set the cruise control below 70 mph, `but if for some reason you wanted to go above this` then it will not accelerate beyond 70! I guess there is some sort of speed limiter restricting the speed, does anyone know how you get round this?
  18. On a quick calculation I think in the 3.5 yrs I have had the Sup its cost about £18K to run without even including the £11K buying it! £1000pa insurance £3500pa fuel £1500+pa tyres/servicing/parts etc! I also dont know how some of you guys afford to keep throwing money at them?! Do you all live with your mums eating beans on toast?
  19. Finally got my car back from the body shop, (had rear O/S sprayed after some nobber drove into it). They have done a decent job but you can now tell the colour variation I know fresh paint is never going to match up with the existing 13yr old paint but its disappointing to know it will never quite look the same again. To add insult to injury my girlfriend of 2 yrs also broke up with me at the start of the week......what a sh**ter! If anyone knows the lottery numbers for the weekend please pass them on! I need to get a full respray and a new missus!!!
  20. When I worked for Mercedes we used to de-badge the vehicles by puring hot water over them to heat up the adhesive. Works on most decals and wont damage the paintwork. I would also do it sooner rather than later, those decals look Shite!
  21. Thats rough! This could be the start of a new thread! Whats the worst car you have ever had to drive!
  22. Certainly am, and i`ve only been without it for one morning! The bodyshop estimate it could be up to a week before I get her back, 1 WEEK !!! I will be lucky to make it to the weekend with this crappy Golf thing! Hopefully the weather will be good and I can dust off the `Fireblade` after hibernating it over winter!
  23. She`s in to get the rear quarter re-sprayed after some plank in a Mondeo used me as a brake! To add insult to injury I have been given a pathetic VW Golf Plus as a courtesy car. I think its the first time in 4 years I have had to use the middle lane of the motorway to let someone get past me...... Oh the indignity!!!
  24. Definately worth signing up for. Gets very addictive once you get into it. Although, be prepared to get your arse kicked by spotty 15yr olds who clearly do nothing else but play it 24/7
