Sounds odd but has your car ever stalled or had problems selecting a gear? I know its an auto before anyone corrects me. apparently there is an auto box sensor somewhere that does who knows what (tech guys will be able to expand on this) and I and a few of the other auto owners have had problems in the past with these. For me the car used to shudder and stalling at pull off. Never heard of it whilst on the move but worth keeping in mind as something to investigate if you find nothing else.

Cheers Class One My next move is to get all the security improved. As soon as I get my cards replaced so I can buy things....B*******S

Cheers Guys What is really strange is that he came upstairs and had a nose around. How do I know it was a he? Well the cheeky F****** only took a slash in my loo and nicked the copy of FHM I had in there!!! What the F***! I'd laugh if I was not so pissed off!
-
To be honest I thought I was always very secure, all double glazed etc Apparently, even if you do have UPVC doors, unless you deadlock them they can get in! I have been given a very expensive lesson today and would strongly recommend everyone review their security. I live on a very nice close and never throught it would happen to me....

What a great morning I have had...woke up to find some **** got into my house and nicked about £2000 worth of kit while I was asleep upstairs! Laptops, PSP, TomTom, watch, wallet, cards etc Luckily they did not find my car keys otherwise I would be minus one supra! Police actually were brilliant and came round within an hour of me reporting it...top marks to them. So just a friendly warning, if your supra is on show make sure you hide your keys and deadlock your doors.....otherwise some scummy **** will be trading your prized possessions for their next hit! :( :( :(

Cheers Lee I have actually changed the bov to see if this helped, nothing! Unless the second bov was knackered also. I have replaced all the pipes leading to the bov and been over the IC hoses carefully and cant find any splits. How much do you want for the bov? I dont think its this but would be will willing to give it a go?
-
Carbonangel - see thread http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=80032 it might help?
-
Guys this is exactly the noise mine is making. see thread http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=79764 It just started doing it and it seems I am not alone as Carbonangel has the same problem. My concern was that the flutter was the turbo stalling? Would I be correct? Please can anyone shed some light on this? Why would this have started to happen?
-
I have the same issue. Thought it was a split in an IC hose but nothing found. Changed the BOV still nothing (unless the second BOV was knackered also). Mine sounds a bit like a ralley car coming off boost with a Tsh,Tsh,Tsh flutter sound. Have put up posts before and even had club members look at it? Still no answer. To be honest its been doing it now for ages and as far as I can tell does not seem to affect performance etc. Like you I am concerned and want to try and find a fix as my concern is that the fluttery sound is the turbo stalling! I-macca, this might sound like a stupid question but if the bov is knackered will this have any effect on the performance or on the turbos?

For the past few years my friends have called my supra the MINGESLAYER ....which seems to have stuck as no one now (including me) calls it anything else. Whether it actually lives up to its name is doubtful !!!!
-
Unbelievable!!!! Really feel for you. I feel gutted and it has not even happened to me! A similar thing happened to a mates MR2, he woke up to find that his ex had scribed C*** in foot high letters down both sides of his car........what is the matter with some people!
-
I have only had a couple of people on the forum contact me about mine and I went in very aggressive on the price at £6000. Not one person has come to look at it which is gutting considering what good condition it is and how much I have spent on it and looked after it over the years! I think its the mileage that puts people off although I am sorry to say mine has done 20,000 miles less than yours! Good luck with the sale, I personally would not sell mine for much less than £6000 just on principle, so I guess i`m stuck with mine forever.......oh well more summer fun ;0)

If it helps I had an issue with the speedo jumping all over the place. Turned out to be bad solders where the speed converter had been added. Take out the dash fascia and try giving them a re-solder, sorted mine out a treat! Took about half an our tops! NB when taking out the dash read some of the notes on doing so as you can end up activating the airbag light so it stays on and you then have to re-set it. I did this no big problem but better avoided if you can.

Having spoken to a few people as to why I had such little initial interest I realise I may have priced the car up too cheap and this is what has put some people off! Crazy! Guys, I can assure you that this car is no `Shit Box`, I spent a lot of time and money looking for a Supra and waded through seeing a whole host of crappy cars until I bought this. I know the sort of crap thats out there......this is not one of them! If I did not need a fairly quick sale I think I could hang out for 6-7K but my circumstances mean that I need to sell pretty soon as my new business is just taking off. If you are looking for a TT I promise anyone that comes to look at this car will not be disappointed. As stated i'm open to offers..

Guys I posted up my car for sale a while ago on thread: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=64404 Had some initial interest from some people but no one has actually come to see the car! I cant believe the market for Supras is that bad, especially as I had deliberately priced it at what I thought was a bargain price! Anyway, I have left it a couple of weeks and want to give it one last go on the forum before going down the e-bay / Autotrader route. I would prefer it goes to a club member so I am opening it up to offers! Please PM me with your offer if your interested (note, sensible offers only please).

Anti-virus, personal firewall software etc is also an important part of the puzzle. The threats today use various exploits that one solution alone may not protect you from. Having worked in IT security for may years now I would recommend you look at a proven solution that will cover all bases (AV, Spam, Spyware, desktop firewall and even some now do HIPS). Many people will advise you of how good their free-ware etc is but dont be fooled. If its free or cheap you always end up with what you pay for!
-
As some of you have PM`d requesting more photo from different views see attached, NB some of these pictures where taken before the car was cleaned.
-
Thanks, it really is a nice tidy car. In all the time I have had it its been a pleasure to own and 100% reliable. As its been my daily car the miles are a little high but I dont think its excessive for a 13yr old car. I was unsure of what to price it up for and although its probably worth more than 6k I need to get a more practical car so wanted a fairly quick sale. My only concern is i`ve priced it up too cheap!
-
Shame your not closer as mine has just gone up for sale and is ideal for a newbie as its basically standard. Dont rule out the imports, I would do a bit more hunting round for insurance quotes as mine makes no difference whether its UK or J-spec.

Some more photos.....

Mine is now up for sale! See the MKIV sales section.
