    Pretty sure you find its really there is a fue on there like that like the guy that drove his m5 like that and ironically did kill himself.

    Have you removed the rear shock and jacked it up with the wheel on to see how much clearance you have now mate?

    You can weld it by just tack welding it along the seams mate this will keep the heat right down you could leap frog cornor to cornor , And it will feel soiled to the touch, but once out on the road you will be surprised how much the whole car twist and flexes,

    You could plate it and pop rivet it with a bead of Tiger seal between the two as a sealer and bond, , nothing else will really be strong enough as the two skins flex now,

    You need to weld a plate back in mate and I would not drive it till you have as you will run the risk of cracking the arch and that will be a nightmare for you
