  1. Thats what I thought but I've heard contradicting stories. Can anyone confirm that they are exactly the same? (A pic of the j spec one is above)
  2. Cheers James I'll give him a try but I think I'll need both cats as I think I've got a 1 piece double decat fitted
  3. I think I'll need them both as I've got a 1 piece double decat fitted
  4. I'm in desperate need of 1st, 2nd or both cats for my MOT retest this Friday. Failing that a complete stock UK exhaust system will do
  5. Just like everything else we have to adapt to in this country !
  6. I may be able to get hold of a UK 1st cat at a push, but I reckon I'll still need a UK 2nd cat so if anyone has 1 they can lend me I'll be eternally grateful. . .
  7. That plate used to be on my car!!! If only I had the money for it I'd have it My Supra was first registered with that plate many moons ago. I bought the car off Graham S who offered me the plates with the car but I didn't have the extra dosh then and I still haven't

  9. Has anyone in or around Essex got both UK cats they could lend me for my MOT retest Friday? monkey3 kindly lent me his j spec ones but i now know they don't fit the UK system! I've currently got (I believe from advice on here) a 1 piece double decat fitted from the turbo down and around to appx middle of the car, then a mid section, then the back box section. Any help greatly appreciated Pics of the j spec ones which didn't fit: 1st cat 2nd cat
  10. Park a Supra next to it to show how bad it really is! Mind you, you could park a smart car next to it and it would look better!
  11. Just done a search and found the part no. Front - 04479-14140. I'll still have the problem of extending the 2 sticky pistons though won't I?
  12. Thanks for your help guys, looks like I'll be investing in an overhaul kit then
  13. Hi all To inspect a possible brake sticking on, I've removed my n/s front caliper and it looks like only 2 of the 4 pots are actually moving (the two nearest to where the fluid hose connects. Are the other 2 supposed to move as well? Also, as I was pumping the brake pedal, 1 of the pistons came out too far and a bit of fluid came out. The piston went back in ok but will this cause me any problems? Thanks
  14. Mk3 Escort 1.6 L with lowered suspension, Janspeed exhaust and an XR3i rear spoiler - turned out to be a rust bucket! Mk2 Fiesta 1.1 with Capri sports rims - had a serious oil leak! Mk4 Escort 1.6 GL - good motor this one Rover 620 SDi - carribean blue, a very smooth ride Escort 1.8 TD - workhorse And after all these high powered beasts, I've now settled down for something a bit more tame .......... NOT!!!
  15. Did you know you have one foot bigger than the other
  16. The guy I bought my supra from (Graham S) had it for 4 yrs and it only got wet once when at a show, so I'm carrying it on! It only comes out the garage on nice dry days but as said, its nice to have the luxury of having a choice
  17. I can't say I like it, but if you do, get it! We're all individual and if thats what you like, AV IT
  18. Sorry to hear this happened mate. Hope it goes smooth getting it sorted
  19. Gutted to hear this mate. Im in the fire service in London and have never heard of this happening before. When reversing an appliance (fire engine), there has to be at least one person at the rear to see the driver back. This person must use hand signals and shout out if the driver is getting close to anything. In my experience, there has been the odd occasion when the person at the back shouts out but the driver doesn't hear first time. It sometimes takes a second or third shout which can be too late. This may be due to the fact that the person at the back is usually in a quiet environment and believes their voice is sufficiently loud for the driver to hear, but the driver is sitting on top of the engine and next to the officer in charge (who may be sending verbal messages over the radio), the heater blower would normally be on full blast this time of year and the switches and relays for the blue lights make quite a lot of noise. This obviously is no excuse but may be a contributing factor. If they have tried to leave the scene without taking any details then that is unacceptable and I would hope that this is an isolated incident. As for your insurance, I believe London's insurance company are fairly quick with any claims but don't know about Suffolk. Don't worry though, you won't have any problems. The firemen responsible may be retained (part time) in your area and have another profession which they earn more money in but this is no excuse for leaving the scene of an accident. In East London we work with the police and ambulance quite a lot and we have an excellent relationship. As for the lazy slackers bit, I suppose you could find a few of them in any profession. And as for moral fibre, I don't know any firefighter who I wouldn't put my life in the hands of. Anyway, hope you get it sorted out mate
  20. I've only had this happen once, where a fiesta full of boy racers wanted a pop. They flew past me at around 100mph on a dual carriageway then slowed down to around 50. As I went to overtake I THINK they floored it, at which point i tickled the throttle and they turned into a little speck in my rear view mirror! But having reached 70 they then pulled alongside me and were nodding in appreciation before they sped off to risk their licence being taken away
  21. All these accidents happening involving supes and I havent even seen one since before xmas! Apart from mine all tucked up warm for the winter

    Auto Advan???

I think Jurgen is top dog when it comes to imports. After being a member here for some time, I've never heard a bad word said about him (I would have gone through him but i found a UK spec). If you ever need to import, Jurgen is your man
  23. Sorry to hear about this mate, but them photos stink of fail on his part. Hope you get it all sorted out with no hassle. (That bloke looks like the one in the film 'Ghost'; "GET OFF MY TRAIN!")
