    Radiator

Cheers Pete. I'm thinking that I won't be able to flush the heater matrix and associated tubes unless the heater is switched on to allow water to run through the system. Good luck with yours. Are you replacing the stat and hoses? I'm picking my ones up today.

    Radiator

Thanks Peter but I've got one now. Do you know the best way to flush the system while it's in bits? Does the engine have to be running?

What's the best way to flush the coolant system? (The faulty radiator is off, old coolant out, battery off)

    Radiator

Thanks for the advice. I made a start earlier to get the old thermostat out, decided to try to do it from above but lots of bits in the way. Can you remove it without taking the alternator off or is this a must? (Car's on axle stands, wheels off, bumper off, rad out so access isn't a problem)

    Radiator

Thanks guys. I have blue hosetechniques silicon hoses around the engine bay but the rad hoses are stock. Do you know anyone who sells hosetechniques rad hoses (so they match)?
  7. I use Auto Glym leather cleaner then their leather care cream. That and the McGuires' are quality stuff. http://s240.photobucket.com/user/firepooldp/media/20130405_204945.jpg.html

Cheers Dnk. Any thoughts on the rad hoses? Also, I'm trying to remove the expansion tank to get the old coolant out. I've undone some bolts but it soesn't seem to wanna come out!

    Radiator

Hi Looks like my radiator has finally given up after 19 yrs of service! Noticed a leak from the front end after a short run. I let her cool down and started her up from cold, and it started leaking again quite badly once it got hot. I noticed the top rad hose was hot and the bottom hose cold. Is this normal? And does anyone know who has a new rad for sale? I'm not really interested in a shiny blinging one as the old AC condenser sits in front of it! Would like a new one as opposed to a used/recon one though. Thanks firepool

    why a supra

I was saying the exact same thing when talking with my mates the other day! I've had my Supra for 2 years (after a 10 year wait!) and still grin like a cheshire cat every time I drive it! I don't think I'll ever lose that feeling! The shape, looks, drive feel, sound, reliability, list goes on, all go towards making this car like no other. I honestly wouldn't swap it for anything that has been or is on the road today (ok, maybe a Bugatti Veyron, but thats it!) Buying a Supra - best thing I've ever done
  11. Very sad We gotta treat our babies with some respect eh?
  12. Definitely worth a watch! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SXNAtwYMBw&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Efacebook%2Ecom%2Fposted%2Ephp%3Fid%3D1270056523%26share%5Fid%3D74680531564%26ref%3Dnf&feature=player_embedded
  13. Very nice Stevo What do you use to polish your exhaust?
  14. Bit ott imo. You can't beat the classic shape and lines
  15. Not seen that before! Good find
  16. Personally, I love the retro feel to 4 spoke wheel. It compliments the rest of the retro dash perfectly (more so than the 3 spoke IMO) and is infitting with a 15ish yr old car. Saying that, I know where you're coming from and that 3 spoke wheel is pretty cool
  17. Gutted for ya mate. Why are there so many ignorant nasty people around?! I'm lucky enough to have another car so would never take my Supra anywhere near a supermarket car park or similar place. I witnessed a van driver open his door straight into the car in the nextdoor bay, I went over and said 'you just hit that car mate', he just told me to get lost (in slightly more offensive words) so I wrote his details down and put them on the cars windscreen. Hope you get it sorted out ok mate
  18. Very very nice Matt! (I must visit the A66!)

  20. 34 and glad I didn't get my 1st Supra until I had plenty of driving experience under my belt; There's a lot of dangerous power there if you don't know what you're doing
  21. Very, very sad. I think it would be a great idea to make a donation of some kind to his family. Perhaps if someone who lives nearby could find out who he was and maybe a moderator set up a donation account, I think, as some of you have already said, that would be a nice gesture from the Club.
  22. Thanks very much gordy, I just missed your post but was on way to do it exactly how you just said! Its wired to the 1st floor lighting circuit so I isolated that before I done anything. Its working fine now with all connections nice and tight. Thanks for all your help people
  23. no, its just a pull cord on/off
  24. Thanks for the comments guys, I've taken it apart so I'll finish the job now! I'll let you know how it goes. . .
