I was at Brands Hatch yesterday and was on and off track for most of the afternoon.
As I come into one of the corners I lost all eletrical power and rolled onto the grass.
I had not ignition power at all, no windows, no wipers. All my lighs still worked and the light for my door open was ok.
Got it back into the pits and found that he AM2 fuse (7.5amp) had blown. Replaced the fuse, turned the ignition on and it blew stright away.
Had a look at it tonight
Put new fuse in turned ignition on.......fuse ok
Crank car over, turned 1-2 times...... fuse blew
(New fuse) Took starter relay out, go to turn over fuse ok, relay back in, turn over fuse blew.
(New Fuse) Turn ignition on....use eletric windows..fuse blows stright away
(New Fuse) Turn ignition on....use wipers..fuse blows....
Everytime you draw power it blows
Could it be a relay?
If I leave the starter relay out and use windows it blows.
Im going to try and take both wiper and window fuses out as I do belive the amp on them are higher. If I crank it and the am2 fuse is ok then it narrows it. If it blows, then going to test the 3 main relays in the engine bay (Ignition Main, EFI And COR)
What has crossed my mine is the this....might be very way off mark.
The car got very very hot as was on track about 2 half hours. On for about 20-25min and off for about 10-15. The turbo would of got very hot. Just below the Turbo is the starter motor. If i melted/damaged the wires or even the starter motor its self could this cause the problems im getting
