    Scotland

If you're visiting 3 places, I would recommend: 1) Edinburgh 2) Stirling & Trossachs (Loch Lomond) and then either west (for the scenery): 3) Kintyre, Skye east (coastal towns): 3) Perth, Dundee, St Andrews and Aberdeen or north (hills and walking): 3) Inverness & Highlands
  2. Plenty of bad drivers driving all marques of cars. It's just the BMW incidents that get remembered. I believe the notoriety of the BMW badge stems back to the yuppie London-set of the early 80s, for whom the 3-series Beemer was the status symbol of choice. It just so happened that a lot of these type of people were also aggressive drivers, hence the origins of the infamy.
  3. be aware that transcoding standard (not lossless) WMA to mp3 will substantially reduce the sound quality, btw, if that matters.
  4. Jurgen, what sort of money would I realistically be looking at for importing an aristo with a single conversion?

    want a tt for 8k

The next few questions I'd ask yourself: UK or Import? UK will be cheaper to insure, but more expensive to buy. Modified or standard? Most TT Supras come with a few modifications these days - the mods can add some nice features - extra performance (BPU), better brakes and improved traction control are popular, for example. Mods will tend to add a bit to your insurance premium, but you'll generally get better value buying a modded car rather than a standard one and then getting the modifications done yourself. Aerotop (convertible) or not? Aerotops are auto gearbox only, by the way. And whilst CJ is correct (and obviously knows a lot more about Supra prices and values than us mere mortals) in that you'll get a better Auto than Manual for your money, I personally wouldn't necessarily write off the manual idea. I have a 1993 Import (70k miles) TT Manual, and I'd be surprised if it would fetch much more than 8k as a private sale. Both auto and manual are good cars, and as everyone else suggests - the best way to find out is to see if you can get a ride in both.
  6. In my opinion I think you should look primarily at NAs (and probably just autos) if you're looking to spend Unless you are extremely fortunate and manage to find a real bargain from an unknowledgable seller in a hurry to sell, a good condition Auto TT should still be setting you back at least £6k, I would have thought - I would be extremely wary of anything priced lower. btw - for insurance, I'm 32 with 8yrs NCB paying about £450 for a manual TT valued at £8k (Sky insurance)
  7. This has to be the best online news discussion ever! "Marksman Called In To Kill Kingston Pigeons" The comments just get better and better. "Tania, Sensible comments only please." :D
  8. This site should explain everything you need to know about World Of Warcraft.
  9. Errrr... the southeast monthly meet is in Cobham, which is only 10 miles from Guildford.
  10. Well, my Soop's out on the roads of Guildford at least 12 hours of every day! The only other Supra I've seen regularly around Guildford was a K-Reg silver one down by the cricket ground, but appeared to be a non-member and I haven't seen it for a few weeks now.
  11. ZX81's! Pah - newfangled, modern stuff! I started on a TRS-80 before I graduated to my Spectrum!!
  12. Do what you would want somebody in your situation to do if you came out and found the scuff on your bumper.
  13. Goose fat for roasties! It's the only way!
  14. On the subject of Codecs, having upgraded Windows Media to the new version (11?), I am unable to rip to mp3, and understand this is because it no longer includes an mp3 codec? Any recommendations for a good mp3 codec for ripping/transcoding?

    Paypal Scam

errrr - don't get this at all: If they've already got all your details, why do they need to bother sending you an email? They could just log in to your account and rip it off anyway!
  16. Ultimate roast dinner has gotta be the bustergophechideckneaealckideverwingailusharkolanine. Think I'm kidding? Look it up......
  17. Idiots. There's plenty of them about..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AsNAX4oCkpk Jackass has a lot to answer for!
  18. Aren't there issues with this potentially affecting premiums, though? I thought some insurance companies took any reported accident (regardless of whether a claim was made or not or the outcome) into account when calculating premiums?
  19. I wonder with these things, what happens if it takes a couple of weeks to go and get it looked at and a quote and everything, then you go back and say, "Okay, mate - it'll be £1k", or something. What happens if they then say, "Ouch - can't afford that - it'll have to go through insurance.", or maybe, "Sorry - don't know what you're talking about."? Can you still then put in an insurance claim, two weeks (or however long) after the incident occurred?
  20. Presumably you'd still have 20 seconds to comply, though?
  21. Really? Mike doesn't seem so bad to me.....
  22. You're quite correct, of course, and despite very rarely driving genuinely dangerously, I too have probably performed manouvers (deliberate drifting, high-speed driving, etc.) which, although performed safely (IMO), would be considered "dangerous driving" under current legislation. Whilst I hold with the fact that "dangerous driving" and "causing death by dangerous driving" should carry the same penalty, I would thoroughly agree that the current definition of dangerous driving is ludicrously lax. If it were going to carry a serious penalty (which I believe it should), it should be only enforcible where multiple officers could testify to witnessing the offender driving in such a way that caused a genuine high risk of injury and possible fatalities, not just because they happened to be diriving 101mph on an empty motorway (which, of course, could cause an accident, but is actually low risk).
  23. Exactly this. Using the consequence to define the crime makes the crimes very easy to prove, but can lead to some real injustices. For example, if you slam down hard just on "causing death" cases, the problem you get is the one safe driver who makes a single mistake (nobody drives without EVER making a mistake) and, because of circumstances, causes a death, whereas the driver who drives recklessly all the time, but their accident injures (not kills) 10 people, gets away with a lesser charge. I blame the complexity of the law and the evil, money-grabbing lawyers. The justice system has to rely on known consequences (even the most expensive lawyer can't deny a death) to define law, because the lawyers are allowed to get away with nit-picking through 1000's of pages of law and citations to get their clients out of any less-clear-cut offences. In my opinion, it's not the "causing death" cases that they need to crack down on specifically. It's ALL "dangerous driving" cases. ANYONE who is caught "driving dangerously" could potentially cause a death and the punishment should be the same whether a death is actually caused or not.
  24. http://www.dinnerandamurder.com/ It's an American site, but they sell some of their games by immediate download, so if you've got access to a printer..... If you buy a boxed one off the shelf, the "How To Host A Murder" series are the more highly regarded, I believe.
