  1. On the test drive! Oops. Wouldn't have bought it myself - I would have pointed out the wing and told them it looked like it had been driven into barrier or something!
  2. Used to live right near there. Went to school in Ampthill!
  3. ..heh - I built the very first British Airways Executive Club internet site, back in '98 or so!
  4. Oh - and on the original topic, I have registered for tickets, but am not tooooo bothered: I love(d) playing american football, but it's not a great spectator sport, IMO (mind you, I much prefer playing any sport to watching it). Having never been to the states I'd quite like to see an NFL game live, tho', for the experience.
  5. Hehe - I think we put in a pretty good showing over all. I like to think that it was on the performance of veteran players like you and I that the Knight's success was founded. At least that's the way I remember it.
  6. hmmm - wonder how many of us there are on here? I played for about 12 years in total, from 1991-2003. Mostly at the Farnham Knights. Played a couple of games in European competition which are still very special memories for me. At the Knights, I played alongside Scooter, another member here - I remember admiring the Supra he had back then. I'd long forgotten about it when I got my own and ran into him again when I joined here!

    Nintendo wii

Oh - I wasn't having a pop at him. I know plenty of people who were gutted at not getting a Wii first time round and would probably be willing to stump up the extra cash to get one ASAP. I guess I'm just getting more frugal in my old age, especially with the nipper's food eating into my petrol money these days!!!

You do realise that that lot would only set you back £230 new? http://www.play.com/Games/Wii/4-/1032617/Nintendo_Wii_Console_+_Wii_Sports/Product.html http://www.play.com/Games/Wii/4-/1720583/-/Product.html?searchstring=wii+play&searchsource=0 http://www.play.com/Games/Wii/4-/1720585/Official_Nintendo_Nunchuk/Product.html Although these are, of course, not available at the moment. The "rumoured" restock date (with the reinforced contoller straps!) is later this month, but no official word for Nintendo yet, as far as I am aware.

Mind if I ask why you are selling, mate? A couple of my friends have bought Wiis and they love 'em!
  10. If someone "steps out" right infront of you, sure - that's their own stupid fault, but from the looks of bbtiger's diagram, he'd have been walking in the road (totally unavoidable sometimes) for quite a while (all the way across the other side of the roundabout), so I don't see how he can be to blame - from his description, he was already standing in the road long before the biker should have seen him - he didn't "suddenly" leap in front of the bike.
  11. Sorry - but the lorry driver did NOT cause this accident in any way. Yes - he's a total idiot for parking where the diagram indicates, and should get into trouble for it if there is no good reason, but this in NO WAY caused the accident. Consider what the situation would have been if the lorry had broken down rather than parked? It would have been in exactly the same place. Would it still have been the lorry driver's fault for his lorry breaking down? PS. Glad you're sounding okay, bbtiger
  12. The pointy steering is what really grabbed me about the 911 over the Supra. You feel totally connected to the road. The Supra is good, but the 911 is in a different class in this respect. Couldn't afford to buy or run a 911, tho' - and the Supra is more practical. The Supra rear seats are pretty poor, but the 911 bench is literally unusable.
  13. Manual will be worth slightly more - my '93 TT6 70k miles is worth about £7.5k, IMO.
  14. Female friend applied for her, my missus and I about 18 months ago. Nowt yet.

  16. Argh - this one is all too common! Every time when I wake up afterwards, it takes a couple of minutes for my brain to realise that I've finished with all that hard deadline stuff! The relief is unbelievable!
  17. LOL - ack - don't get me started on the differentiation of reality and the dream state - that's a whole other existential argument! Anyhow - I've done my reality checks and - rather unfortunately - looks like you lot ARE part of my real world. A waking nightmare, maybe??
  18. I have lucid dreams sometimes. In my opinion, lucid dreaming is one of the most amazing things that you can experience. I have had about a dozen in my lifetime. Unfortunately, training yourself to deliberately have lucid dreams is crazy difficult - a lifetime's obsession for some people. I'm just pleased to have at least mastered some skills for identifying and prolonging the lucidity. I just don't have the time and patience to commit to working at it like it did when I was a student.
  19. Hey Bijal - still interested if these are available. Did you check whether either of them had the tiptronic gearshift? Cheers, ben

Hate to state the obvious, but try driving a few if you can - not sure how many there are up in your area, but if you can have a shot in a manual and an auto, and especially in both a TT and an N/A, then you'll have a much clearer view of what you're after and what you're willing to accept.
  21. I can't believe people still use eBay

    Rabbit Joke

A rabbit walks in to a pub and says to the barman, "Got any carrots?". The barman says, "No - try the grocery shop down the road". The next day the rabbit goes back in to the pub and says, "Got any carrots?" The barman said "No - we don't sell carrots". The same thing happens again the next day and the day after and the day after! The day after that the rabbit goes back in to the same pub and says, "Got any carrots?" The barman finally snaps and yells, "Arrgh! If you come in again and ask for some carrots I'm gonna nail your ears to the floor". The next day the rabbit comes back into the bar and says, "Have you got any nails?" The barman looks slightly confused and tentatively says, "errr...no". The rabbit looks him straight in the eyes and says..... ..."Got any carrots?" :D
