    Had accident!!!

Yeah - interesting that one. If you turned right, across the road there, and he was oncoming, how did you not see him? The road looks pretty straight. Or did you just misjudge his speed?

    Had accident!!!

Did you get contact details for any witnesses?

    Civic Type R

That's ridiculous. How the hell do you get that much power down through the front wheels? Surely you'd just sit there generating clouds of smoke? What about torque steer?
  4. How do you know what your piss smells like for a "couple of hours"? Do you pee in a jar and then sniff it every so often or something?

    Civic Type R

The full Rally spec Type-R from JAS has a whole different engine dropped in (the K20?), and even that's only 265bhp (and will set you back £65k for the full Group-R rally spec conversion). I think you can buy just the chip from JAS as an off-the-shelf mod for a standard Type-R, but I'm not sure how much power gain you'll see with it.
  6. lol - nice pic! Was just up with Mark for the afternoon for him to give my new MkII a once-over. He seemed pretty happy with it.
  7. Yeah - heard about the Astra (was at Phoenix with Mark when you called) - sounded like you were planning to thrash the b*ll*cks off of it! We had a brief discussion about the feasibility of dropping your engine into a Supra...... Hope that neck's okay, mate.
  8. oh - by the way. If this hypothetical accident HAD occurred, it would be entirely your fault - the fact she had no lights on is irrelevant.

  10. 10k should buy you a top-notch J-Spec 6spd TT. I bought mine ('93, stock, 55k miles at the time) 3 years ago for 10k. Sold it a couple of months ago in vgc (70k miles) for just under 8k (it sold in just a couple of weeks, mind).
  11. Exactly. So doubtless he'll be back on the road uninsured again in 6 weeks time.
  12. I think the main problem is that the ABI (association of British Insurers) don't actually recognise the existence of an N/A Supra. The only MkIV Supras on their books are: "SUPRA TWIN TURBO - Manual" - Group 19 (this is a UK spec) "SUPRA TWIN TURBO - Automatic" - Group 19 (UK spec again) "SUPRA RZ TWIN TURBO - Manual" - Grey (Jap import) "SUPRA RZ TWIN TURBO - Automatic" - Grey (Jap import) So you'll probably find that many insurers (especially those who only use the ABI groupings) don't actually maintain an insurance rate for an N/A MkIV, and therefore end up putting premiums on it which may (especially for unknowledgable insurance companies) exceed the rate for a TT. ALWAYS try and find an insurance company who actually understands what car you've got! The difference in insurance premiums and policies between the two will be pretty much entirely based on how much profit or lost they've made on the two in the past. As you can see from before - the ABI treat the auto and the manual as two different cars, so the corresponding insurance premium rates and policies will be separate too, and will be adjusted independently based on their relative performance as financial products.
  13. According to this: http://www.albeedigital.com/supercoupe/articles/0-60times.html (which usually seems pretty accurate) '94 N/A 0-60 time is 6.9s: 1983 Toyota Supra 8.9 16.8 1984 Toyota Supra 8.7 16.8 1986 Toyota Supra 7.0 15.4 1988 Toyota Supra 7.9 16.0 1989 Toyota Supra Turbo 6.6 15.2 1991 Toyota Supra Turbo 7.1 15.6 1993 Toyota Supra Turbo 4.6 13.1 (C&D Mar '93) 1994 Toyota Supra 6.9 15.2 1994 Toyota Supra Turbo 5.3 13.7 1995 Toyota Supra Turbo 5.1 13.5 1997 Toyota Supra Turbo 5.1 13.6
  14. Mine were ( past tense! ) stuck on behind some dark tint film. Looked subtle and didn't show the outlines at all - was very proud to display the club stickers! Not sure if they belong in the new car, tho....
  15. Can't say enough good things about Mark. Shame we've only got him for another 12 months!
  16. It's not a no-no, but generally not recommended. As long as she won't be close to the airbag in the event of a smash, it should be okay. Source: http://www.childcarseats.org.uk/choosing/airbags.htm
  17. I've no idea what they'll do either, but I'd bet on Phil bl**dy Collins being involved!
  18. Not sure exactly elsewhere - I guess that's up to the specific database implementation - but that 2Gb size limit sounds right for a TEXT. Note - I think the separate storage means that TEXT fields are a lot slower than VARCHARS for some substring queries (such as "LIKE" clauses), but I'm open to correction on that claim!
  19. I recently sold my VGC J-Spec Manual ('93, 75k-ish miles) for about 8k.
  20. IIRC - for these kind of fields, the data is not stored in the table itself. Instead, the data is stored elsewhere and the table just stores a "pointer" to the data. It is just the pointer that is of size 16. The TEXT itself will be much bigger.
  21. In most respects, a TEXT field is just a VARCHAR with an unlimited(ish) length, I believe. it can't actulaly be unlimited though, right?
  22. hahaha - God has retaliated against homosexuals by flooding Sheffield. You'd have thought he'd have gone for somewhere like Brighton instead, surely?
