  1. Yeah - they sound like traffic cameras. They're the ones that they use when they show those black & white, grainy pictures of traffic jams on the travel news, aren't they?
  2. Sky+ box lets you record stuff. I hate to agree with the marketing spiel, but our Sky+ box really did "change the way we watch television". I don't notice what time programmes are on any more. I don't even notice what channel they're on - I just pick them out of the lists on the EPG and they appear on the HD drive a few days later. It means we're nearly always watching programmes a day or two after they were broadcast, but it means that whenever we sit down to watch TV there is ALWAYS something we really want to watch on ('cos we recorded it!)....
  3. "Skyline" sounds nicer. The second syllable just rolls off the tongue instead of the hard "PR" in the middle of "Supra".
  4. *sigh* The RS200 is my #1 dream car!
  5. Oh - the PS3 will happily output 1080p, and games CAN be written to run in 1080p..... but the machine doesn't really have the raw processing power to make a decent game in 1080p and as most of the world doesn't have 1080p, the developers are expecting to use the consoles power to make gameplay (eg. physics engines, artificial intelligence, etc.) better rather than to make 1080p output instead of 1080i (or 720p) output. The list of PS3 games currently supporting 1080p is a little short: http://www.makeyougohmm.com/ps3-1080p-games/ The list of 1080p games for the 360 is slightly longer: http://www.makeyougohmm.com/xbox360-1080p-games/ But still not really enough to justify spending the extra money on a TV to most people.
  6. Depends. To be honest, 1080p will only really make a big difference on a really large TV or if you're intending to use the TV with a PC or similar. Most console games won't be 1080p for a long time yet. Sky HD is only 1080i, terrestrial HD (if it ever appears) almost definitely won't be 1080p. 1080p is good for PC usage and for HD/BluRay films - and for the films, it's probably only worth the extra money on a huge telly.

    Will it blend?

So close! By the terms & conditions of your original post, I'd still have had to actually find your body first anyhow...... Maybe I can have another chance at instigating your suicide in a future contest?

  9. If these are the genuine article, that's a bargain compared to the prices these have gone for in the past.
  10. Yeah - this unit is pretty much identical to the MkII Aristo. There's a guy in Bournemouth called Luke (runs the soarer.tv website) who can do a full conversion to UK sat nav, but it will cost ££££.

    Sky Renewal

Because the personal aspect of your quote is insignificant! The only aspect of your quote which is about YOU and your driving experience is your past accidents and the "supposed" no claims bonus. Your quote is more affected by factors like your car, your location, last year's theft statistics, etc. The personal aspect of your quote is insignificant! The insurance company quote is primarily based on how much of a risk they think you will be in the upcoming year. Now, whilst one more year of proven safe driving is in your favour, there's a whole host of other parameters that may have changed from their persepctive. Also, remember that inflation also affects everything - including insurance prices - the personal aspect of your quote is insignificant!
  12. LOL - what utter crap. There is no reason for introducing a voice recognition telephone service apart from saving money for THEM.
  13. Or just an older PC will have the same effect.....

    2 monitors - 1 PC

Oh - from the title I thought this thread might be another "2 girls - 1 cup".........
  15. Hahaha. Yeah - thanks for that, mate! Maybe I'll walk to Islington instead, heh?
  16. Hurrah - just secured tickets to see Penguin Cafe Orchestra at Union Chapel in a couple of weeks' time ! :D

    Fuel Strike

So, just to clear it up for me, please..... You're pissed off with petrol prices and think something should be done..... so you're going to get down to the petrol station good and early before everyone else to buy as much as you can? Yeah! That'll show 'em!
  18. Yeah - Barclays sent me one of these. Pile of arse. Half the point of internet banking is so I can access it anywhere. Now I can't. It's one more thing that hackers will have to get round, and hopefully avoids keypress reading as a mechanism, which is good, but I can't help but wonder how much it now absolves the bank of any liability if your account does get hacked......
  19. You risked...... and LOST! http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=131053 http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=130987 Nice try, tho!

    whos up

Me. Not sure why - just not tired enough yet. Busy copying some music (Ludovico Einaudi) over to my phone to listen to at work tomorrow.
  21. Unfortunately, you can't just take the picture source into account. With Plasma/LCDs, you also have to bear in mind what a large impact the TV settings have. Although manufacturers often ship their TVs at default settings with showrooms in mind, I wouldn't necessarily trust the likes of Comet/Currys to ensure that both TVs are set up optimally.

    Also budget £1,000 for insurance!
