A petrol strike by blockade seems slightly ludicrous. I don't see why the government would pay any attention to it, myself.
Surely, the whole point of a petrol strike is that Joe Public demonstrates their complaints about petrol duty by not buying petrol THROUGH THEIR OWN CHOICE, not because it's forced upon them?
ie. by proving that they need to actually blockade deliveries to force people not to buy petrol, isn't that kind of showing that the complaints are only really those of the minority?
If there really was a large majority of people in the country who objected to current fuel tax, surely they would happily be demonstrating by just not buying petrol, regardless of whether there's a blockade or not?
If we showed our complaint by voluntarily avoiding buying fuel, that would be much more telling to the govenrment, no?
