    Cant decide!!

Friend of mine went on a single-seater track day, but the car was so restricted, he pretty much lapped the track with his foot stuck to the floor, bouncing of the speed limiter. He said it was pretty pointless.
  2. The that always does it for me, big time, is at #34 on that top 100 list - "Life is Beautiful" It's even worse now I have my own little boy. Just thinking about it is making me well up a bit now!
  3. Try clicking the "Get Directions" link......it's really quite simple.
  4. This used to annoy me. Why did women and older contestants get a head start in the obstacle course? They didn't give stupid people a head start in the other rounds!
  5. Well - I guess that going by my previous argument that a heavier car requires more centripetal resistance from road grip and ALL other factors being identical (let's assume that the extra passengers balance the centre of gravity to exactly the same position as the stocker), then I think you're right - the lighter car will be quicker. As I think the difference will be in corners, the difference in performance (lap times) will be entirely down to the circuit layout. That's where your calculations will have to be applied! I think. PS. hope you had a good Christmas, mate!
  6. Whilst I agree with you that overall weight does have an effect on lap times (my gut feeling would be that it's due to increased centrifugal force requiring more grip and therefore limiting cornering speed), I think it's probably a much smaller factor than the suspension, tyres, etc. that you mention.
  7. Interesting that only a couple of comments so far have alluded to the inclusion of cornering speed (or "circuit lap times" in the comments). Is that telling of a Supra forum? I've had my ass handed to me on more than one occasion by far less powerful, but better handling cars (your typical 4WD "nutter" cars - scoobys and evos - plus all the little elise-type kiddy go karts are probably quicker A to B on anything less than major A roads than a GT car like the Supra). In the Aristo it's even worse! I need lots of straight bits in order to keep up!

    Me!!!

Welcome! But remember - it is possible to have too much fun...
  10. cos he compains about weather and puts a location of "Barbados"!
  11. Think we all know the answer to that one.... (not sure about the money, tho)
  12. I would have thought 700hp was do-able. You can gain an extra 100hp alone by folding the seats flat. Fact.
  13. Vin's character in the film just needed a way of asserting his superior driving skills for the purposes of the plot line. As they'd only had a straight drag, there was very little he could criticise ("you didn't press the pedal hard enough", maybe? ), so the writers just picked some technical driving term that the majority of viewers wouldn't understand or question.
  14. It'll be a total and utter farce if this goes ahead. I don't know one single person who thinks this is a good idea!
  15. Not sure I see the point. If it's just the 15,000 people we're worried about, can't we just let them be made redundant and give them the bail-out cash directly? They're talking about £1bn - that would be about £65k each.
  16. Hey - at least I actually made it there this time! Defintely be up for that again. Top gig!
  17. Interesting - my mate just drinks water at gigs too, and he actually mentioned the same solution of bringing along his own bottle top AT THE BAR AT BRIXTON AT THE CARTER GIG!
  18. Is this either the Regza 42XV505 or 42XV555? If so - I have the same TV but at 37". Cracking TV - I ummed and erred for about 18 months of scouring avforums before I plumped for it (although this was 6 months ago, so I don't know what's come out since, btw). Only thing you might find it lacking is a 100Hz mode (or M100 active on the Toshs, I think). That might mean it's not the best TV for SD sports viewing, but I've still found it fine for that myself, and you'd be paying a lot more money for anything better. So that's another recommendation from me.
  19. Daman - can I ask why? When, for example, the one in the link I posted costs just £30 more but includes 300 minutes and 200 texts a month.....
  20. I so don't understand the prices on 2nd hand mobiles. Who would pay £200 for a phone they could just get for free by getting a new contract? Especially when you can get a brand new N95 for a total contract cost of only £210 on deals like this one. Somebody explain to me, please!
  21. Bingo. We have a winner. So fundamentally, yet again, we can blame this on peoples' selfish greed, law firms' relentless ability to capitalise on that and the complete farce of a legal system that lets these sort of stupid claims through.
