  1. Never understood this. If you cross-lay insulation above the joists, doesn't that mean you can't board your loft (making it very difficult to use for storage)?

Acer. Good features, but not fantastic build quality, so be a bit wary if they're going tobe in for some abuse.
  3. Liked one of the comments. In response to "Not only poor people should experience this":
  4. Yep - that's you then! I was sat right behind you at the lights at the A323 junction (just before the A3 junction) and gave you a flash, but you probably wouldn't have noticed the pimp-mobile! Looking good, by the way - and good to see you out and about despite the conditions!
  5. Braving the snow and heading in to town on the Worplesden road then down along Parkway.

'fraid so - we got a block of 4 - me and two friends. I got the 4th one for my dad too, but knowing him he might change his mind and decide against going closer to the time. The online "tout" sites (getmein.com, goldstartickets.co.uk, etc.) seem to have listings at resonable-ish prices - never used any of those sites myself, tho'.

Not sure - some online places still seem to be claiming to have some. One of mine is still only a "probable", tho', so it may be up for grabs if you're still without and interested closer to the time?

Going along. Been for the last 2 years and it's great! Last year's was a fantastic game, and even the mud in the 2007 game actually helped even the game up for Miami! Got seats in the lower section too this time - near the halfway line! :D

Well - I got the Steelers scoreline right (27), but Arizona looked stronger than I (an everybody else, I think) were expecting! Looking forward to the Wembley game now!
  10. If you like. The "glass half full" version would say that if the insurance company didn't ask you whether you'd had any incidents in the past, they'd have to slap the extra on the premium anyway, just in case. In fact, the reason that most insurance companies want to incorporate as much of these statistics as possible is so that they can offer the lowest price that they can get away with. If they can find and use a new statistic that nobody else uses to distinguish people who are more or less likely to have a claim against them in the future, it allows them to give better discounts to those who fall on the good side of the stats, winning them even more margin-making business.
  11. I believe the opinion of the insurance companies is that the more incidents you are involved in, the more likely one of them is to be your fault. It's not a "punishment" thing, it's just a probability calculation. It's all just calculations from statistics. The insurance company statistics machine will output a report which says, "people who have had non-fault incidents in the past are x% more likely to have a succesful claim against them in the next 12 months", and that will be used to effect a premium increase. ANY data that the insurance company have on you will be used in this way. If they knew what colour eyes everybody had, I expect that would change your insurance premiums too!
  12. Agree with the above 2. Never a better time to get a fixed-rate deal. For as long of a fixed period as you can find. Get a 25-year fixed deal now, and in 5-10 years when rates are back through the roof you'll be laughing. (maybe)
  13. Cardinals struggle against a strong Steelers defense. 27-14 to Pittsburgh.
  14. Ha! The F150 doesn't count, Jamie - visibility isn't a problem - you can see OVER everything!
  15. ....and we've still to get round to "quantative easing", which will make the GBP drop even further. Fun times, hey?

3048 is my best so far.
  17. Hope you're having a good one!
  18. This debate has been coming up for years. I believe the general opinion from what I recall is that while most people believe that dyslexia does really exist, it is a much rarer condition than it appears - many people get called, or claim to be, dyslexic, when in fact they are not.
  19. Reading back - you said you have £500-600/month spends? If so, then a TT is definitely affordable. Yes, it could cost you slightly more to run than an N/A, but that budget should cover it, unless a complete disaster occurs. So, if Jurgen says he can get you an auto TT for £5k, you're happy to use up half your monthly cash running it, and you trust yourself with 320hp, then my advice would definitely be to go for the TT.
  20. 5k should get you a decent enough TT auto, but it's more about the running costs than the purchase costs, to be honest. The N/A is a good car, but 5.9s 0-60 is wholly unrealistic. I think you'd be closer to 6.5s. The TT should be good for about 5.0s (do note, however, that 0-60 is not an area where the Supra excels anyway).
  21. Yeah - Schipol is a good choice - flying from here to Atlanta with BA, it was actually cheaper to fly from here to Schipol and get a Club World (the one with the bed/seat) flight from there than it was to fly in the standard World Traveller Plus direct from Heathrow. Stupid thing was it was the very same plane! It flew from Schipol back to Heathrow before the Atlantic hop! Adds about 3 hours onto your journey, but worth it for the bed and (comparatively) decent food and drink. The other great thing is that the flight back actually lands at Heathrow and then you're supposed to transfer to Gatwick for the return to Schipol, which means you can just check out your bags and go AWOL from Heathrow, so you don't have to do the Schipol link on the return. Who'd work in the crazy travel industry, hey?!
  22. Cheapest I can find to Kos from a quick scour is £205. I suspect the only way you'll get it cheaper is a last-minute deal from a charter carrier, booked around May, but that'll be a bit hit & miss, and you won't be the only one doing it!
