  1. If you like your classic war films, I believe 84C MoPic finally got released on DVD last year.
  2. Actually, I think that's pretty amusing, seeing as he was getting totally whitewashed - especially as he only got the point as the other guy missed his shot. I'd rather that someone made a joke out of it like that than acted like a bad loser.

My back-up for when I don't want to carry the DSLR is the Fujifilm FinePix S2000HD. It's 10MP with a pretty decent 15x optical zoom lens and shoots video in 1280x720. You can pick them up for well under £200 now. Worth a look if you're considering a "superzoom".
  4. Korn (Freak), Royksopp and Radiohead (Just) are all great choices! Not sure what my favourite is, but I also like: - Basement Jaxx - Where's Your Head At - White Stripes - Fell in Love with a Girl - Beastie Boys - Sabotage - Weezer - Buddy Holly - REM - Immitation of Life - Eminem - Guily Conscience - VAST - Pretty when you Cry - AHA - Take on Me - Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer - Bob Dylan - Subterranean Homesick Blues - Michael Jackson - Thriller - Jamiroquai - Virtual Insanity oh - and "Plug me In" by Add N to X
  5. Agreed. Now is a good time to buy $.
  6. The term "Supercar" is about an image more than anything. The Supra may have the performance, but it does not have the image of a supercar. Personally, I think the reason is that the Japanese manufacturers never built their cars with the same exclusivity goals that a lot of the european supercar manufacturers aspired to, created by short production runs, racing pedigrees and 6-figure pricing. I also think this is a GOOD thing!! If the Supra was really perceived as a "supercar", I'd never have been able to afford one!
  7. Is biting the inside of other peoples' cheeks carcinogenic too?
  8. Isn't the GT3 "only" the N/A engine, tho' (360hp)?? The turbo pushes that up to 420ish, I believe (not sure I'd believe any unproven claims of 500+)? Could that make up a bit of the power difference? 'nother question BN - as someone who has probably pushed both these cars closer to the edge than anyone - what is your opinion on how easy they are to drive on a track - does the 4WD on the 911 help?
  9. Funny, but not sure it's entirely accurate!
  10. How many here have actually driven a 911? Although he's probably slightly down on power at full boost (off boost and while spooling, the 911 has a slight edge), I predict the 911 would win easily round Knockhill with equally skilled drivers - the handling is definitely superior to the Supra - especially in the 4WD version. That said, driver ability can make up for a lot there, so for this race, I think the better driver will win..... Good luck! Will be rooting for you!
  11. Errr - Branners wasn't stating that you DID stomp on the brakes - like you say, he didn't witness it. What he is saying is that even if everything you say is true, what happens if the old codger claims that you cut up in front of him and then hit the brakes, then refused to give him your insurance details and threw away your keys? I suspect that if he does report it like that then (a) the insurance company will apportion it 50/50 due to conflicting statements and no witnesses and (b) the police might be interested in you leaving the scene without exchanging details. Personally, I still like the key throwing idea!
  12. Correct. Two possible situations where the car in front would be to blame are: 1) Car in front was moving backwards (obviously) 2) Car in front performed a manouver to place itself infront of second car when insufficient space was there, causing car behind to either swerve to avoid or crash (cutting up) In this scenario, old bloke could claim #2 - that you moved across in front of him then slowed down. Even if you'd left him a load of space - if he lied about it and said you pulled across right in front of him, without witnesses I could easily see it coming out 50/50 from insurance PS. Like the key throwing
  13. By the way, if anyone is thinking of investing, be aware that with the recent collapse of the GBP, lens prices will nearly all be shooting up by as much as 20% in the imminent future. I bought a Nikon lens this weekend for £390 which was the remains of last year's stock - stockists getting the same lens in this year are selling it for £480 !!!
  14. We must have about one of these threads a week at the moment. Can't believe people are STILL using PayPal.....
  15. Well - Gomez were excellent. Crowd was a bit lacklustre - not many people know the new album yet, I guess - but I certainly did my bit - you would have been proud of my singing efforts, Mike! I was surprised that they opened with Airstream Driver, and disappointed that they played nothing from In Our Gun, but they played most of the new album, which was great - I thought the album as recorded was slightly too mellow for my liking, but the tracks had so much more energy the way they played them live. Top one!! I saw Wonderstuff do an "Eight-Legged Groove Machine" last year and I've got tickets to see Carter USM on two consecutive nights later in the year - they're doing all four of their 4 albums over 2 nights!
  16. Unlucky, Dan I suspect that most trans-atlantic charters are going to be a struggling quite a bit at the moment....
  17. ....and you're not allowed to call them "Insane Asylums" any more - they're now "Psychiatric Hospitals"...... ......it's madness gone politically correct! :D
  18. Sounds promising! It's going to be a looooong day in the office now, though...
  19. Not really my taste, but not awful by any means. Fantastic photoshopping effort from your brother, by the way!
  20. Any Gomez fans out there? Going to see them tomorrow night and looking forward to hearing the new album material......
  21. Is there also a benefit of copper over Iridium/Platinum if something goes wrong? Maybe copper will do less damage to bits down the line if it breaks? Just a thought.
  22. The toilet one is true - from last year. Quite sad, really - imagine the state of mind to be "happy" to just sit there alone for 2 years.......
  23. Sat inside a Supra all the time you, unfortunately, can easily forget how good it looks from the outside. The same thing when you get used to having the power under your right foot - it's worth (if you can bear it) handing over the keys to a trusted friend once in a while and having a go in the passenger seat - that'll help remind you!
