  1. Crikey. If it's not mongooses, it's pigs?
  2. I find it utterly hilarious that the only result of reporting on Anjem Choudary is to drum up support for the BNP, and the only result of reporting on Nick Griffin is to drum up support against the BNP.
  3. If I'm in a spaceship travelling at the speed of light and turn on the headlights, what happens?
  4. Yep. Just need to find a way to get rid of his bike now.
  5. These are EAN-13 barcodes, and the "guard bars" - printed left, centre and right, are NOT the same as the representation for the number 6, otherwise the system wouldn't work! The representation of a "6" in EAN-13 is two (equal-width!) lines followed by a space. The guard bars, whilst having the same two lines, are not followed by the space.
  6. Up to £100. They will offer you the market value of your laptop up to a maximum of £100.

    Enough is Enough

Isn't the main problem with the Royal Mail system that although they have some control over their costs (eg. underpaying or overpaying workers, etc.), they don't seem to be driving their income up much. Surely the solution here is to put up the price of stamps? Stamped mail is hugely loss-making for Royal Mail, isn't it?
  8. Problem is a lot of these bonuses were based on contracts and agreements signed a long time ago - before government cash injections. My understanding was that they actually looked at and considered just not paying bonues in a lot of cases, and determined that they were actually legally bound to do so, and would have ended up shelling out even more money in legal costs if they tried not to. This £6bn figure also includes banks that did NOT recieve tax payers money and are still posting profits (eg. Barclays investment banking). That said - I'm sure even these banks are still taking unnecessary risks based on the precedented belief that the government will bail them if it goes pear shaped. I agree with imi - nothing significant has really changed in the business world in the last couple of years - a slight decline in market value but that's all - I believe will still headed for a major economic disaster at some point. With all the "quantitative easing" and the GBP dropping like a stone, we're at risk of inflation coming in seriously hard in the near future - who knows what effect that might have....

    NFL @ Wembley

Yep - I'll be there again. Got good seats this time - lower tier mid-pitch. But yeah - looks like it's going to be one-way traffic. My prediction: Pats by 20.
  10. Yes - the straight line performance will be very similar to a BPU+ Supra abd the TOMs ECU is a good choice for these cars. He'll be lucky to get over £5k for it in my opinion!
  11. The price should definitely go lower. The last couple of comments in the thread are correct. He'll be lucky to get over £5k for it in my opinion. I only paid £8k for mine 2 years ago!
  12. This is not a bad looking car, but you should be able to get an Aristo for similar money. Looks alright! ORLY?
  13. Regardless of peoples reactions, sense of duty, responsibility, etc., this kind of stuff has been happening forEVER. It is not a new phenomenon. It is only because of media attention and internet social sites like youtube and this here forum that people are more aware of it. I'm sure I've done loads of things where I have left my son at risk of a 1 in a million accident. I'm sure my parents did the same with me. I'm sure ALL parents do EVERYWHERE. This one was just unlucky that hers happened to get caught on camera and uploaded to the internet! Everyone takes risks with both their own lives and others. Occasionaly people get unlucky...... This country really isn't massively different from how it was 50 years ago - we're just more aware of it these days. It's only because people have been cajoled into being more "PC" or "socially aware" that they delight in getting upset by such things and enjoy being outraged.
  14. Having a kid then replacing your Supra with a VVTi Aristo? Whoever heard of such a crazy idea?
  15. Ah - I see. Yeah - there's an argument to say that's true - if you're going to blow a tyre, you're better off with as much space as possible before you hit anything. Like I say - I don't have a problem with people doing that as long as they're not holding other traffic up. When the road's empty, I probably tend to stick in the middle lane myself too. You're certainly right about the test being an issue. I think we're now one of the only countries in europe that doesn't include a multi-lane road in the driving test.
  16. Really? Crikey - if a driver feels too "nervous" to follow some simple lane discipline rules in the highway code then they probably shouldn't be driving a car at all, IMO! Mind you - I don't really care what lane people sit in as long as they're not actually holding any traffic up.
  17. Happy birthday, mate! If I catch up with you at the Forum or Brixton Academy this time I'll buy you a drink!
  18. Good point! This whole thing is so unrealistic! I'm not going to watch it any more!
  19. That doesn't strike me as demonstrating that cats are clever; more that dogs are stupid.
  20. Like Scott says, completely off throttle can be as bad as pedal down if it means you are decelerating too hard. All the weight shifts to the front and you lose grip at the back: lift-off oversteer. To get used to the handling of a car, you should be aiming to practice cornering at "throttle neutral" like Terminator says - ie. with enough foot in to ensure the car is neither accelerating nor decelerating. That will get you used to how the car behaves as you push the grip. Only when you've got used to that can you start playing more with use of the throttle to control the car in corners. I suggest practising at a skid pan session first!
  21. Okay - now that does sound good. I'd be worried about being chased down by giant white balloons, tho!
