  1. Not sure about this two insurance policies question. I've seen lots of people on here say that they would only let a potential buyer test drive their car if they got insured for it first. If you can't have two policies covering one car, surely this would not be possible? The policy belonging to the driver at the time! Maybe you can only have one policy per driver/car combination?
  2. Hi John. Come join us Club Aristo too!
  3. Worse one for me was an american football injury - I was stationary, and someone put their helmet into the bottom of my back at full speed. First and only time I've ever gone down and been literally unable to get up again. Luckily, he just missed a clean hit on my spine (or I'd still be in a wheelchair today), but it broke off a small bit of my cocyx (still floating around in there somewhere), and left me with a hematoma with about a 12" radius. A friend of mine with cluster headaches swears by daily feverfew (which greatly reduced the number of attacks) and red bull (to curb an impending attack).
  4. True. You'd still be right at the bottom end of the auto TT market, I guess. Maybe 6-12 months more saving and market depreciation might close the gap?
  5. Can't you afford to upgrade to TT Supra if you've got £2k burning a hole? Or are you too attached to your current Supra?

    Knee Trouble

Serves you right for playing that silly game!
  7. Hurrah! Having seen the pilot episode (a lot of which was filmed at Doune Castle near Stirling), HBO have funded filming of the first series. If you're a fan of this kind of stuff - medieval/fantasy with gritty/adult themes - this has the potential to be amazing - The books (at least, the ones that George Martin has written so far) are my favourite read and are thoroughly recommended.
  8. £17.99 new on play.com.
  9. Superb player, mate - but you can pick these up brand new for only about £210-£220.
  10. What's with the hate? Nicholas Cage has done some cracking films: - Bringing Out the Dead - Lord of War - Adaptation - Wild at Heart - Honeymoon in Vegas

    Beds

If that's a full memory foam mattress, then be aware that they get damn hot, and don't breathe too well, so if you like your bed to stay cool in the hot summer, I would avoid. It also smells odd, IMO! Pocket-sprung with a latex topper is where it's at!
  12. Cripes! Bring out the garlic butter - we're going to need a bucketfull!
  13. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tactical_voting Another reason why true democracy has to have proprtional representation.
  14. Ah - in that case, an extended discussion about relative running costs and the questionable longevity of the Evo clutch is probably in order. Keep talking for a good five minutes or so, then you'll probably never have to talk to her again!
  15. Probably never speak because they don't speak English. Maybe Chinese? Looking forward to my brood being old enough to make an excuse for a trip to Disney Land!
  16. Have you considered why she feel the need to even comment? It's usually down to envy. If I genuinely wanted to tell everybody with an ugly car that I thought as much, I'd be telling every third person I know. Maybe she just said it because she knew you'd get upset about it and go and whinge on an internet forum?
  17. Precisely! Give me real proportional representation and I might bother my arse to go down to the polling station for the first time in my life!
  18. If you're at all worried about interest rates, then the best policy is to take out a long-term fixed rate mortage as soon as possible - fixed rates are literally NEVER going to be better than they are at the moment. If I wasn't on 0.8% interest rate myself at the moment, I'd be all over a 15/20-year fixed policy (if I could find one). As it is, I'm trying to gamble and see how long I can leave it before making the jump.

    Preludes?

btw - if FWD is the main issue (as it would be for me), then you really should strongly consider a 5th gen - I believe the design was modified considerably to improve on traditional FWD problems.
  20. meh. Harder penalites for those actually caught commiting benefit fraud? From my understanding, that's a pretty insubstantial percentage. EDIT: Ooh - that's more like it. Sounds promising.
  21. Okay - so who's manifestos include updates to the benefits system?

    Preludes?

I've always had a soft spot for them, but for one word: FWD (okay - so that's 3 words).
  23. I've never won anything much myself, but a good friend of ours (and work colleague of Vicki's) is the Lindsay mentioned at the bottom of this story: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/southern_counties/3144631.stm Thoroughly nice, deserving people.
  24. Crikey - it's going to be a pretty serious geek/collector who buys LD stuff these days, isn't it?
  25. Same here. Even that Telegraph quiz suggested my best match was Labour, but at only 52%. That figures - I don't see any party which is talking about the subjects that I really want to hear.
