The Vulcan flew over Guildford on Monday, heading that way! When I was little, my local village was near a US base, and they got on very well (some of the service guys lived there). So for the village fete every year, they used to have an airshow. I'll never forget a Vulcan coming over our house at about 500 feet. Took ages to pick everything up again! Also used to go to the PFA Rally at Cranfield back in the day. Now that was something. Little airfield where everybody descended for one weekend - I believe it used to be the second biggest rally in the whole world. The record there was 1900 aircraft! The end of the weekend really was a spectacle - the planes would be queued up trying to leave, and they'd be launching them 2 or 3 at a time over the space of several hours. The Tower ATC guys must have been exhausted!

A number of other, similarly described, instances of people experiencing a presence, particularly of being watched from behind have been attributed to low-frequency vibrations. Apparently, oscillations (especially in the inaudible 17-19Hz range) can cause vibrations in the eyeball which create a sense of "presence" in the peripheral vision. Frequent causes of this phenomenon are household appliances like washing machines, tumble driers, ceiling fans, etc., but natural occurrences of infrasound have also been found in some "haunted" sights, like the Edinburgh Vaults.

Interesting. All my favourite, thought-provoking films are those which I concentrate on, and therefore don't watch unless I can totally immerse myself in them. Therefore, the go-to films I have watched the most tend to be lighter fare: - Sleepy Hollow - Deep Blue Sea - Fellowship of the Ring - Aliens

Cool birds. I beleve the "Evil Owl" look is actually an attempt to hide by blending in with a tree trunk - the eyes are closed up as they would otherwise stand out.

With our continued reliance on fossil fuels, the economic pit of doom that most of the western world is digging itself into, and the ever-increasing global population, I am of the increasing opinion that something truly cataclysmic has to happen within the next 50 years. Maybe it'll be a scientific brekathrough (nuclear fusion?) Maybe it'll be a US/China war (US will NEVER afford to pay back their $1trillion debt) Maybe it'll be the collapse of various currencies - USD, GBP, EUR, YEN, etc. (the concept of "money" is looking ever more fragile) Something's got to break...... soon.

Spot on. Had a couple of these myself over the years. One time I woke up and was convinced that there was a live gremlin on the bedside table. I was totally convinced that was what it was (even after turning the light on!) until I "fully" woke up about 10 seconds later. Had another one where the shape of a jacket hung on a chair looked vaguely like the silhoutte of the missus. Again - I was sure it was her for a few seconds and even asked "her" why she was standing in the middle of the room before I woke up properly about 10 seconds later, again.
