Boost Cut Controller (BCC) 2jzgte vvti & Speed Cut?
legendswraith replied to a topic in mkiv Technical
Well if you are going single you are going to need some sort of piggyback/management system to control the fuelling for a start. Some systems have the ability to remove boost and speed cut but i know for a fact that the EMU will not remove the speed cut on the vvti but it will do boost cut. Other than that you are looking for one of the black boxes from hks or greddy. I believe the greddy bcc is favoured over the HKS one due to the scaling of voltage rather than the hks which clamps voltage (correct me if i am wrong) -
Are you sure its the droplinks and that you haven't got pillowball mounts? The sphericals on the pillowballs are fairly cheap and nasty on the teins but they are replaceable. If you can find out the sizes of them i'm fairly sure there will be some nice sturdy aero grade ones kicking around somewhere

I have several graphics cards kicking around ones definately a radeon xt850x and possibly a couple of nvidia ones if they can suit your needs you are welcome to one of them as i'm sick of them gathering dust

for sale Fuel Pump (uk), Coil Pack, TPS aand MAF (vvti)
legendswraith replied to legendswraith's topic in Parts for Sale
Tghe pump didn't give the issues it was the fit to the cradle in the vvti aristo. As the pump does not fit quite right into the cradle it was pushing itself off the connectors and leaking the pressure back into the tank rather than giving the pressure at the rail. Pumps fine it was the muppet fitting it got it wrong[OOPS][/OOPS] -
Turbo comp/turb housing A/R is the inlet area v the radius of the housing Trim is worked out by exducer dia squared divided by inducer diameter squared multiplied by 100

for sale Fuel Pump (uk), Coil Pack, TPS aand MAF (vvti)
legendswraith posted a topic in Parts for Sale
Still have a Walbro 255lph fuel pump, a vvti Throttle position sensor and MAF sensor for the vvti available. The pump only did about 50 miles in the car due to being the wrong spec and causing issues. The TPS was bought brand new to sort the issues out the fuel pump was causing as was the MAF Looking to either exchange the fuel pump for a JSpec version that hasn't been running for years or sell it. £50 for the pump (in box with filter sock etc) £60 for the TPS (its brand new) £25 for the MAF sensor £20 for the vvti Coil pack All prices include the postage unless you live in foreign climes -
why do auto and 6 speed have diffrent aux belt tensioners?
legendswraith replied to supra matt's topic in mkiv Technical
"You'd have to be a total animal with the gearbox and clutch to do it" "I had to fit one to my auto!!!!! to stop the belts coming off when it changed gear" You weren't the drummer with the electric mayhem band as well were you dude -
There is quite a difference between the jspecs and the uk brakes the uk are much larger and look one piece if you look at the jspec brakes you can see the edge of the carrier with the caliper sitting inside it. AFAIK the uk discs are 325mm dia at teh front so you may want to recheck the size or look for pics of the uk calipers

If you are confident you could always buy the overhaul kit and the compressor/turbine wheel and shaft and rebuild it yourself. The reconditioned housing will just mean its been cleaned, crack tested and has new journals. Then all you will need to do is find someone to balance it for you.

Most interesting thread i have read for a while, unfortunately all the pics are blocked by websense (god bless coporate security software) So what i have come out of this with is there will be forever 2 camps of preference (no jokes). However has anyone acheived a big power set up with sequentials as i have been led to belive that a big twin sequential set up was problematic? Besides that i'll wait till someone perfects an axial flow turbo and another debate rages

Dunno if its possible but the 2jz-ge vvti was sold here on the lexus GS300 and possibly the IS300 you may be able to transpose the data from them but i would get confirmation
-
Oh btw if you are still thinking of doing a lay up you want to look at a resin by the trade name of aeropoxy
-
Well if you are that keen on it i have enough of a supply of kevlar (fan blade containment type) hanging around that could go to a good home. Would have mentioned it earlier but i missed the thread

Require connecting-rod balance reccomendations
legendswraith replied to absz's topic in mkiv Technical
Yes i know both ends etc need to be within grammes of each other as well as the whole assembly and each other. Probably didn't give the best description and relied on the link too much. We balance the assemblies in gas turbines alot finer than con rods He's bringing them to you anyhow so its a null point, and you have the gear. -
Require connecting-rod balance reccomendations
legendswraith replied to absz's topic in mkiv Technical
Was wondering what was wrong with grinding the pads and measuring around the centre points of the bearing ends. Did you think i meant grind randomly till they all weighed roughly the same -

Get some digi scales and do it yourself. http://www.angelfire.com/ca4/CorvAIRCRAFT/RodBalance.html -
Not 100% sure what you are getting at with this do you mean you are constantly low revs or that you see the revs drop off quickly during shifts? If its that the rpm drops off quickly when you change gear thats because there is less rotating mass to spin down and it has less momentum to get rid of

Help!? White smoke and oil film in air pipes
legendswraith replied to dukenukem's topic in mkiv Technical
the oil film is more than likely the oil that is blown into the journals leaking past the seal as long as its just a film its not the end of the world, if its wet or dripping its trouble. Valve stem seals won't lose you the boost either so i would think your smoke may be related to the low boost too. It'll probably be something screamingly obvious when you find it -
Help!? White smoke and oil film in air pipes
legendswraith replied to dukenukem's topic in mkiv Technical
Due to the way you described the car at JAE and we eliminated it leaking at the BOV i think it may be mechanically based rather than solenoid especially still getting the same boost in true twin http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=35926&highlight=boost+level+turbo is a good thread for troubleshooting As i haven't had your type of problem myself a guess would be either the wastegate is not doing its job properly or an issue with the EGCV. Theres more than a few who have had more tubby trouble than i who should be able to shed more light, but if you can absolutely definately discount the vsv's it might be worth exposing the turbos and seeing if there is anything glaring there -
for sale Walbro pump Coil pack and MAF sensor (vvti)
legendswraith replied to legendswraith's topic in Parts for Sale
Just to clear this up the pump is a GSS 341 which is for the UK spec not the import. Fortunately Ganty researched it before he bought it so the pump is still available -
for sale Walbro pump Coil pack and MAF sensor (vvti)
legendswraith replied to legendswraith's topic in Parts for Sale
Ganty has first dibs on the pump. The pump doesn't fit the mk2 aristo due to the pump carrier assy which encloses the pump. It doesn't secure it properly whih caused all my issues earlier in the year -
for sale Walbro pump Coil pack and MAF sensor (vvti)
legendswraith replied to legendswraith's topic in Parts for Sale
Yes its the uprated pump for bpu it just didn't fit properly in the carrier for the aristo. I'll post the part number when i get the pump out of the box again -
Have some spares i want to get rid of as they are jsut taking up room. Have a walbro pump which i bought for my aristo wrongly thinking that the fitment was the same on both cars. Used for about 60 miles before it was swapped out £55 VVti coil pack in good condition £30 Stock MAF sensor VVti, i belive they are the same but i can get the part number off it to double check £40 If anyone is interested i can bring them to JAE so you can look them over too Cheers Austin

Normally you pick a size that just fits over the nut and the taper and spiral causes it to lock down onto the nut as you remove it. that said a tap with a hammer on eeze outs and removal tools never hurts to make them get a good purchase
