Cams made a really nice difference to my supra (256in 264ex), obviously Syed has tried them in his and wasnt impressed...

May I step in..... I have a new contact who can definitely get a big discount on these kits, he will only give me a price if I can provide him with a chassis number from a UK spec car; so can someone give me this info ? If so, ill order 3 kits in.

While we are on the subject of electrical faults, the "green ring" around the drivers door lock is permanently lit , this causes the battery to flatten after about 3 days. Can anyone suggest a fix ?

Im only mucking around Chris Tony almost certainly has the fastest track evo in the UK, he has spent well over £35k on mods so far and his car is stunning! I think a lot of evo owners would be deeply saddened to hear a £3.5k 1.4ltr Mazda gave him a run for his money...ROFL. As you say,Tony is a top bloke , complete petrol head (he just bought a set of AP 6 pots for his M5 from me !) and he speaks very highly of your too. Justin

Motec's get a hell of a slating over on the evo list; even the rally boys seem to be using Gems now. Apparantly the processer speed is not in the same league as Gems/Autronic either. I know what you are saying about knock control, but what if you get a bad batch of fuel ? This is road use we are talking about, not race cars running non pump fuel. To be honest Chris, i'll happy to take whatever you recommend even if it is motec, but I cannee afford £7k for mapping !!! BTW, one of my customers said he gave you a run for your money in your RX7 in his evo6....you know Tony Rodriguez ?
-
You can fit a Motec to anything if you have the time and money ! Motec's are overpriced, over-rated, and not as good as you might think. No knock control and idle control for starters! I believe it is possilbe to "piggy back" a Motec with the stock ECU controlling many of the standard functions, mmmmm...... Paul's "re-mapped" stock ECU is a very good answer; I know, because I have gone this route with my evo. There is one problem with this though, it may still be a bit of a problem running larger injectors, we shall see....... Justin

I wouldn't own a supra without it ;-) Ive got a few kits in stock £619.95 inc vat and del (includes adjustable and launch control) - retail £1050 !!!! Justin 01233 500384

Cheers Chis, it is SOUL destroying to see the supe sitting there totally un-usable. Biggest problem is the turbos, somehow there is no control of boost - hits over 2 bar sometimes then .5 at others - weird. The car also shakes at speed, Chris reckons this is due to a shagged tyre which took a hit in the crash. Im getting desperate now, cant wait till the spring and cant live with the lag that Christain has (infact, Chris wont even fit the turbos without an ECU !!!) Perhaps I should bite the bullet and buy a motec ???? Justin

Well, my poorly supra continues to sit in my garage, been used just once in 1 year and 2 months 8-( There's a whole host of things not quite right about it, such as shame ..... I've asked Chris Wilson to complete the work, but Chris wants to wait until the AEM ecu is out before fitting the 2835's,680cc injectors and fixing all the faults. Does anyone know when this unit will be ready ? Its driving me nuts not being able to use my supra 8-( Yours, absolutely totally frustrated and gutted..... Justin

I thought the Nur-Spec was louder than the hiper ????? I am a *BIG* HKS fan, but have to admit, the Blitz definitely *IS* the best exhaust out there, actually, by quite a margin. Justin

GT type does use a more efficient core; unfortunately HKS dont do one for the JZA80. S Type is £750+v core size 600x301x65 r type is £1385+v core size 600x302x97 Oh, pipe work on the R type is the lovely mirror polished stuff that makes my knees go wobbly.... Forget about power ratings, just buy the most expensive FMIC you can afford (an R type would be a worthwhile mod on a stock supra).
-
£480 used to be the "group buy" price, Racelogic put the prices up a while back and I cant even get them at that price now with trade discount and bulk purchase discount 8-( I also joined in the 300 club group buy and got mine for £480, just a few days before I was about to pay £1050 for one !!!!!!! Talk about good timing....ROFL.

Theres your answer Matt, ill order you up some UK brakes, you book me in for a big install and ill give you a wad of cash.....whatday say? ROFL ! Justin

Right, just to put an end to the confusion :o I am based in Ashford, Kent during the week where I concentrate on the mail order side of things. Phone number 01233 500384. The retail side is based at Formula 1 , which is the large shop on the A20 (not A21) opposite (almost) the main entrance to Brands (not the rear entrance ). Currently, im only there on Saturdays, which is the busy day. So, Rob, it is the shop you mentioned above with the large tarmac front, and not next to the Ferrari dealer.
-
I too have given this some considertaion as ill be running both on my supra. I think Ash and I decided that when NOS is activated wed have to have some sort of system to disable the traction control. Which is a pity, because when NOS is activated in a car knocking out 600bhp+ through the rear wheels, traction control would have been quite handy..... Oh well.
-
Matt- F1 is very easy to find , its on the A21 opposite the main entrance to Brands Hatch. TIC is the name of the best HKS/Blitz dealers in the world ;-) view the website at www.torqueic.com Pads- im 99.9% sure the GS3000 pads are the same as the J-spec TT. I could do great value Ferodo, or EBC greenstuff which stop you pretty quick but arent that kind to discs. As for the Jan meet, I can tell you now, that is fine. Lovely little road outside the shop, so lovely that we did 160mph 4 up on Saturday in Christians supra.... We are also organising a nitrous open day soon, will be demonstrating loads of cars weve fitted nos too, Redline mag are coming with a fit model too......
-
If you too fancy getting it togther at Brands next Saturday then great, I can sort out some cover if it rains and we have a nice big trolley jack too. Matt, if you want to sort Keith out some beers or something as this is obviously a nice favour from Keith (and itll cost him petrol). Should be a laugh, supras always welcome
-
Matt, I think you'll be ok with the UK spec brakes, the £730 includes everything you need, new discs, new pads, new calipers, all you need to do is hack off the j-spec dust cover, change the brake fluid, and say hello to incredible brakes..... I guess some sexy braided hoses would go amiss.... If your in Kent, I know a couple of people close by with UK brakes who are on this list, and as we are all such a helpful bunch, im sure they would be delighted to let you try one of your wheels on their car for a few beers.....eh Keith ?
-
I supply brand new uk brakes, which includes callipers, discs, pads and rattle clips (everything you need short of fluid) for £729.99 including VAT and delivery, all pukka Toyota parts. Difference between the jap and uk brakes, is , errr, mind-numbing ! The fast road pads I supply are EBC Greenstuff and they are £58+vat for a pair of fronts. Not great pads for hard track use, but they do the job on the road, even for a nutter like me.
-
Im in Kent too, and sell plenty of mkiv pads. The UK "spec" pads are the following size : 122mm x 83mm x 18mm Once you know if yours is UK or Jap spec, I can give you more info on available pads and prices. I can do some impressive fast road/track day pads for the UK spec for just £58+vat and free delivery. email : [email protected]

Blitz have decided to stop selling EGT gauges, apparently, they have "gone out of fashion in Japan" None in stock, no more being produced. Not sure if HKS will follow suit, guess its possible. If you want an HKS EGT gauge, better give me a shout soon ! EGT gauges have been replaced with air/fuel ratio gauges !!!!!!!! And not shite gauges that take readings from the stock lamda, these come complete with their own probe and are as accurate as a £2000+ wide band motec lamda sensor !!!!!!!!!! Think this is too good to be true ? You wont when I tell you then price  Blitz 52mm A/F gauge.....£900+vat !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Justin
-
Your all cheesy knobs..... Run 74psi front and 66psi rear and instead of filling with air, fill with helium, this helps keep unsprung weight down. Well, thats what I read on a US list anyway
-
Chris, Tthere are hundred of evo's running around with mappable ECU's and none of them (as far as im aware) have had an "engine out jobbie" to get a decent mapped ECU. Surely all we need is for one engine out, and then use that map for all future jobs, trimming it to that particular cars spec on the road ? I do hope so anyway.....
-
Alex, I think the days of add on kludges are numbered, save your money, wait for the mappable ECU. It wont be long now. Keep boost down to 1.1 , enjoy 360ish bhp, and when the new ECU is available, with a FMIC, cams and 550cc injectors and your own map you should seee 400bhp+ ultra reliably 8-) Its all exciting stuff, a motec fitted to an Evo gives over 30bhp with no boost increase at all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess by running an ignition map which is perfect for 98ron fuel.
