Hi Chase, nice to know that there are others with supras in the area. I also live about 10 mins from the Trafford centre. Yes I use RRG at Salford. If you need any parts ask for Dave Cook in the stores and mention me and he will give you between 10-20% discount for anyone from this club. Don't know about import parts though) I have a bill for a new headlight (glass) from the previous owner for £409 fitted. Dave got me one for just over £100. I asked the mechanics how to fit it and they said ohh... you have to take the front end apart, its a messy job. I thought bugger and posted here. Back came the replies...undo 3 bolts, 20 minutes and sure enough. Forget any kind of mechanical work but Dave will order you the parts fast and cheap. Where are you getting your beasty from? What colour. All the best

Cheers for the tips. Ordered it from main dealer will arrive Tuesday. Will do a search for how to drain.
-
Cheers Lads. Thanks for the part number Steve, I'll order it. Is it easy to drain some oil out. Must remember to save a bit for top ups.
-
Just been to the main dealer to get a spoonful of auto box oil, as it just needs a top up. Typical, they said they don't stock it and would have to order some (wonder what they do when they have to do a service) Whats more, it comes in a tin big enough to last a lifetime of top ups at £25 plus vat. My hand book says it needs Tll. Can I use any other ie. a typical halfords one. (I have a litre suitable for Fords in the garage)or must it be Tll, don't want to mess up. Does anyone else know where I can get something suitable around Manchester. Going to Chris Wilson's will cost more in petrol than getting some from the main dealer. Yet they piss me off. Any idea's

Hi Chase.......Mkiv TT UK...in Worsley..add me to your list

Hi Adam, proberly is the battery but I once had a problem getting in and all that had happened, was the small slide on the side of the key fob. Must have moved in my pocket. Try to slide it the other way an hey presto...........I stood outside my car for 10 minutes in the rain.......something you don't forget.........Merry Christmas.....

So.3's are the new pattern.....great tyre, but my tyre dealer told me they use the same compound as the so.2's old pattern......if you want to save a few quid, there are some great deals about as they off load the so.2's.....get bartering, the so.3 pattern has only just come out so until then you would have gone for the so.2 anyway. Unless money is no objective. I have yoko AVS on front and are recording the milage I get from both types for future reference. The So.2 on the back have made an amasing difference when accelerating in the rain.....no slip, just pure grip. Love the new faces.:flame Dev

But do you know what it does Brad.....oh sorry, Mr Kimble........ .......US Marshall Ray..........don't jump !

Just where the air intake for the radiator is, there are 3 plastic lugs that go through a black plastic strip. Is the plastic strip something to do with the active spoiler.... Problem.....the middle lug keeps popping out through the plastic strip. I push it back in and then when I go for a run it has pulled through again, which is why I was thinking something to do with the spoiler.......what's the answer, how do I fix it........I am going up to 10 of the best as a spectator on Sunday so I could show some of you techies that attend what I mean...........
-

3 bolts for the headlights, don't know about the bumper:eek:

Hi Myles...same thing happened to mine 6 weeks ago. Checked all the fuses but in the end its usually just a re-charge. I asked toyota and they quoted something stupid in the £150-200 mark. As advised on this site I went to a specialist found on the net. Local place called AIRCONGO. They were brill, let me watch, talked me through the whole process, checked everything, re-gased with heated gas, weighed and measured precisely, oiled pump, descaled/smelled great after, infra red checked for iodine leaks.....you name it he did it....30 mins tops....£68 for cash...brilliant service. He said that he did most of the main dealers and they just top loaded the bill.....gits. Take it to a specialist
-
All fixed boys and girls. I took your advice and found a aircon specialist near to where I live. Full test, oil, gas (154A) sucked out, vacuum dried, refilled to correct level......all while I waited and watched and asked a thousand questions......£68 for cash......can now make my own ice cream, whilst driving...cheers
-
Just when you need it, my air conditioning is not blowing cold air. Looked in the little glass viewer and cannot see anything happening. Pipes are not cold near oil filter. Cannot hear the pump switching on and off like on my wifes Ford. Before I send it in for a re-gas, could it be anything else. Are there any tests I can perform. Toyota want £146 to re-gas......anyone know any cheaper (Manchester area). What kind of gas is in a 94 UK TT.......Quick I'm cooking
-
Well I'm finally going to do my own oil & filter change.........usually done by main dealer. Now for the 63 million dollar question.......here goes a big thread. Which oil is best to use and which oil filter.....mkiv.com said use the bigger oil filter of a big toyota something.......my cars a 94 TT auto, looks like Deans. Mobil 1, shell oil, olive oil, toyota filter, coffee filter...........dare I say, Whats your opinion......................................................................................... .................................................................................................... .............................................arrrrrrr

Don't know how much the full kit would cost but discs and pads all round cost me £391 inc vat. Ring Dave Cook at RRG Toyota Salford Quays, Manchester for a full price.....he will give you 10 - 20% discount on anything...........mention the club........only the cost of a call
-
Hi Rob, read page 3 of this technical section (fit headlights) all the info is there. You will get 10% minimum on the £123 but with a bit of gentle talk you could get you up to 20%. Ask for Dave Cook.... Ray

Following discussions with a contact at RRG Toyota in Salford Quays, Manchester, about the amount of hits on the website since I posted the news about glass headlights (247 times) he has agreed to give all members a 10% discount on anything for the supra. He has given me permission to put his name on the website. His name is Dave Cook and he runs the stores. He said anyone contacting him from MkivSupra.net (he didn't say anything about evidence, but you could always mention my name and glass headlight and he will know how you have got his name and that your a member) will get the discount. I don't know what the stock level is for headlights but I only waited 3 days....the early bird catches the worm springs to mind. But I hope the resource is as useful to you as it is to me ie. Full set of Discs and pads recently cost me £390+ inc vat. Dave is on 0161 745 7766 ask for the stores. It just shows that your/our interest level can pave the way for discounts for us and increased business for dealers...go get em.........PS. I notice that my profile says I just joined the club but I joined last year (number 84) only just registered to yak............

All fitted, 35 minutes. Only removed front air box and filter. Used miniture ratchet, 10mm socket and UJ. Fitted small bit of bluetack into socket to stop nut falling into black hole. Next job... messed up 2 of the screws in hatchback bump stops, even though I heated then up and used a good quality Phillips screwdriver. Anyone got any iedeas before getting a mate to drill and draw them out.....sent this once today, must have clicked wrong button..........end with a sing along..... Iv'e got a brand new shiny glass headlight, youv'e got a steamed up beam...............Iv'e got a brand new shiny glass headlight, looks like a new machine......smug eh !............maybe tomorrow I can sort out a good deal for everyone.
-
Okay boys.....sing along, .......I got a brand new shiny glass headlight.....you got a misty beam, .....I got a brand new shiny glass headlight, looks like a new machine. Yep its glass, I followed the advice and used a miniture socket, ratchet and UJ plus 10mm socket. Took 35 minutes start to finish. Only moved air box front and filter (I'm lazy too) Small tip - put a small blob of bluetack in the socket when undoing/tightening the awkward bottom nut (save it falling into a block hole) My old unit had an egg cup of water in it. Tried the tip on removing the 2 screws from the hatch bumpstops (heat them up and use phillips, didn't work) I'll have to get a mate to drill them out, boy are they tight, heads are goosed now on 2 of them...bummer...anyone any easier suggestions...I'm all ears...
