  1. This is straight up...four of us went out to Dusseldorf boat show in a little 8 seater from Hurn. Trip out was fine, then we got back on board to come home. They waited for clearance then revved up, and nothing. They tried again, we didnt move an inch. My boss who knew the pilots well joked that they had left the chocks under the wheels and we all laughed. Then the pilot throttled right back, came down the isle and went outside. He had left the chocks under the wheels. Id never had a problem with flying till then.

  3. My wife is scared of flying, but she finds having a tall strong bloke sat next to her who squeezes her hand and kisses her forehead helps to take her mind off take-offs and landings. You never know it may work for you too.

  9. I had similar on the drivers side after I replaced the winding mechanism....the window looked as though it sealed against the rubber properly, but there was a wee gap I hadnt noticed and water dripped in. If theres nowt obviously wrong with the seal, it could be as simple as that...the glass needs adjusting further out at the bottom so it closes further in at the top, or the glass is hitting the top front before the rear corner hits the seal ??
  10. Hello and welcome Mendy. Im sure Ive met your sister, Bendy Wendy:) Good luck with your Supra search, and post some pics as soon as you get her.

  12. Good looking car Jackal, lovely wheels and pointless telling you silvers the best colour:)
  13. Thanks for replies so far. We were all given the two sheets....they are from the same run. The printout format seems to be stating est max power at flywheel on the power / torque sheet and the max power at the wheels on the other sheet. Travelling to someone who can RR a Tiptronic isnt an issue, just that I planned to RR before and after BPU at the same venue...would have been good to do this 'just down the road'. My main question in this thread was wether you guys thought the result was iffy / bizzarre...I take it as yes

    Hey - Newbie

Diana, that is one hell of a bread shot.
  16. They ran it in every gear...hence the readout looking like an explosion in a spaghetti factory to start with. I think the tester was worried that the car was kicking down, and took it easy but what do I know. Yup, you were 15 up on mine, and Andys auto was 35 up on mine, also run in second. Chris I think was expected to be well up on mine. Surely peak power is around 6000 rpm not '8000 rpm' as my graph seems to indicate. 8000 rpm ????

    Hey - Newbie

Hello and welcome Diana Loads of us in Dorset and Hampshire. Your request will cost you a picture, old clothes or not:) Oh, and Im going for 5 pages on this one:d
  18. Yes, it all looked pretty well set up. No problems with the manual cars and Andys (Soundwave) auto.
  19. Still better than mine Simon:)
  20. As this is in technical, all I can say is technically youve never been up my arse in the first place....unless you worked at Southampton General Hostpital in 1989:d
  21. No, only what I posted....they did about five runs in total but they were a trifle bizzarre to say the least. The guy wasnt happy as he couldnt lock it in gear so had to select the gear he wanted in manual mode and let the Tiptronic box change up to the gear then run if that makes sense. I dont see why he couldnt do that in third, but in the end he said that was the best he could do.
  22. Had my car RRed yesterday, below par result. Im totally stock except for Nur cat back. (two non-VVTI TTs with stock setup got 300 and 320 the same day) Anyone spot anything odd on the enc. printouts ? Triton say theres not anything obviously wrong but have invited me back next week to have a look at boost etc. The SMIC looks fine, and within my limited tech scope, I cant see any problems with pipework etc and the car feels as fast now as when I first got her. They did have a problem with the Tiptronic box on the RR, and ended up doing the run in second which may have given a duff figure?? but I want to ensure that I dont carry a problem on when I go BPU soon.

    fuel economy

Ive got all my mileage records for nearly six years of MkIV ownership. Just for you, Ive cross-matched and correlated the interlaced figures between my worst (12mpg) and best (32mpg). I can give you the following conclusions.... If I travel long distance at a high constant speed, my mpg is better than when I travel short distances at low speed, but I spend more on petrol. Mpg drops alarmingly immediately after an argument with the wife. The amount I spend on Supra petrol drops dramatically when Im in Florida. Hope this helps:)
