I'm not ashamed to admit I love Columbo. Always have. Never quite felt the same about Ironside / Perry Mason / Burkes Law (except the episode that had the exploding tennis balls in it) / Murder She Wrote et al. Wide Screen Relaxation I call it. Midsommer Murders comes close, but for me Columbo is that rarest of TV fodder...as enjoyable now as it was thirty odd years ago

Eagerly anticipated, ultimately deliciously satisfying. Almost (almost) as good a way of unwinding as logging on here. A triumph of predictability over substance. Jane still cant guess who did it though.

Sons had two replacements to date. Defective cable first time round, dead hard-drive the next. Waiting on the phones a pita, but both times hes had his replacement within 10 days of the call.

Had a great time, good to see the usual suspects again, and meet a few new faces, sorry didnt quite get round to chatting to all. Some great cars as usual. A regular monthly meet was almost suggested, thats got to be worth a go surely ?

Anarak time ! The Spitfire is my favorite aeroplane. Its shape just does something for me, cant explain it. The sound is a bonus and I've been lucky enough to hear and see a few in the flesh. The XIVE and XVII variants with the bubble canopy and pointed tail fins are the best looking single engined plane that ever flew. The P-51D Mustang looks great, but the Spitfire is beautiful. What were they thinking when they developed the Spiteful, with the laminar flow wing ? The eliptical wing is where its at.

Dont you think the one sat down looks like gay Brian from Big Brother ? But, no its neither him nor the one with the gun as thats me. I'll give you a clue, hes too big to argue with and although you may be a bit sore the morning after, at least he's rich enough to show you a good time. Alledgedly.

Daily driver, averaging 8,500 miles a year @ 18 mpg for the last three years. Do you lot worry about how much your gf / wife spends on drink too ? Scary stuff, I may go single. Then I could afford to go single:sly:
