  1. well that was a bit of a shock were you actively trying to sell it Tim? Mike
  2. If the heater is not working well it could point to a dodgy heater matrix which is a nightmare of a job to replace. Full dash out job As Josh says there is a brilliant guide to what to look for, but it is a bit old and could do with updating to highlight some of the more recent problem areas like the Crank Pulley, engine mounts and suspension components. Happy hunting. Mike
  3. Yeah, it's a shame someone changed the date really ;)You still on for Wales though yeah?
  4. No worries guys, Steph is flying to Luxembourg tomorrow for a week. We'll catch it when she gets back. Mike
  5. Ah balls, can't do Wednesday, only checked the thread to find out about times for tonight. Looks like I missed a big chunk of conversation. Never mind
  6. he'll also likely be struggling with the older version of the refrigerant I would imagine. Can't help in Huddersfield I'm afraid. Mike
  7. that hotel being the one with the nice breakfasts, or the one you stayed at Mike
  8. you don't *need* them, but I wouldn't fancy your chances of them coming off and going back on intact. check prices from Toyota - I'm sure I didn't pay that much for mine.
  9. we'll pop down for a bit, but can't stay too late as it's a school night and I have to take my mother to the airport at stupid o'clock tomorrow
  10. Pixelfill

    Can I?

Are you planning to do anything further, or are you just changing the head?
  11. When is it released Ste? Bolton again?
  12. I have seen this mentioned in the past, but I do seem to remember seeing something warning about pulling the TRAC fuse on Auto's. Something to do with how the ECU performs gear changes and the throttle butterfly valve I think. Might be worth some further research before anyone simply pulls the Trac Fuse on an Automatic. Mike
  13. Thanks for that input. Great advice matey. Makes it sound much less of a DIY job though Mike
  14. Well that's a bit different from what I'd heard. Was that from eBay, or a scrappers? Does anyone know the cost from Toyota for a new compressor? Mike
  15. Does anyone have a ballpark cost for "supplying and fitting a replacement A/C Compressor". I have heard rumours that it's an expensive job, so would appreciate a heads up. regards Mike
  16. I was going to post first dibs on the seats, but wasn't sure anyone would get the reference. I should have realised I could count on you Paul Edit: should have said hope the car is found, I can't stand this kind of situation.
  17. IIRC the dat files for the RLTC are set up to not operate below a certain speed, so setting of from stationary it won't be functioning, this might explain why the stock tc is kicking in before the RLTC.
  18. keep us informed Ste, we should be able to make it. Mike
  19. My advice is don't try Toyota, unless you fancy a laugh !! Seriously ... very expensive. I think I paid around £25 for each of my replacements 2nd hand, but be advised that they may well suffer the same fault sooner or later. You should still be able to get into the car with the key though. Mike
  20. Might I suggest this would be a good candidate for improvements? If you believe your tyres are rubbish ... change them, they're your only contact with the road! Mike
  21. Where did it say there was a limit? You were busted. Think on for next time Mike
