anyone get cault out by the weather! i was sitting watching the F1 grand prix! it was just about to start when it started pissing it down!!!! i walked out of the house to check the car and on my driveway the water was past my anchle! walked out to the road and the water was halfway up my wheels! the car was actulay moving and was being pushed down the street! i grabbed my keys and ran out! the water was almost up to my knees!i jumped in the car and it started! i couldnt belive it! and headed for high ground! luckely i havnt got my supra-doopra yet and it was my little mk1 MR2 but the car was under 5inches of water! managed to get it sorted to day and it seems to be fine! but my sound system is done for! so might need to get a car sooner than i thought!

i called the police coz i live on the coast road in Newcastle! and in the dip under the roundabout down he road had flooded so deep that there was 2 cars in the water up to there roofs! (a celica and a audi!) and people were getting down the dip, turning round and driving the wrong way up the motorway in to the trafic coming along the road, to use the slip road off the motorway! so i had to stand in the middle of the road for 3 hours with a high viz jacket to stop people dieing! coz the police were too stretched to come! all because it rained for 30mins! but atleast it didnt get in to the house! so we are lucky! plus i got interviewed by tyne tees TV! still gutted about my car tho!

The problem was that the whole circuit is diamond cutted (little groves about every 5 or 10mm cut in to the tarmac) because the NASCAR’s run there and they have shit down force! The F1 cars run about 15times more down force, this coupled together with the faulty tyres caused the tyres to pop! Michelin did fly in new tyres but couldn’t guarantee they didn’t have the same fault! every team said they would pull out of the race if they didn’t build a chicane, all except Ferrari who to be fair were pissed on, and fucked over, at ever opportunity when they were a little player a few years ago, so they tend to be arseholes now! Personally I don’t agree with there decisions but I can see where they are coming from! But for some reason the FIA wouldn’t allow the race track to build a chicane! Which is a joke! although its not as easy as some would think to stick a chicane on a track! there has to be a good line of sight and the chicane has to adhere to rules and there has to be breaking points for the drivers! So in MY opinion its partly the FIA’s fault for being so bloody minded as they had time to sort all that out before the race! But Michelin have to hold there hands up! In all 11 tyres failed during qualifying! Kart run there too and there tyres hold out but they don’t have to go for 60 laps like the rules now state in F1!

But the problem was, that with the culture of litigation in America if a car had crashed and hurt a member of public or a steward the teams could have been nailed, especially as they knew that there was a problem with the tyres before they started!

jurgen-jm-imports, is the supra in your avitar yours? im sure i saw it in Newcastle last week! i was outside my mates shop and it drove past the end of the street so i didnt get a good look at it but was very nice! and very similar to the one in your pic!

just been checking out the Seibon web site! they do almost a full body in carbon for the supra! (no roof or rear quaters) no sign of glass with the rear hatch or anything! and no sign of any prices! a mate of mine ownes XO motorsport so il go see him in the next couple of days and see if he can contact them and get a price in this country for the parts and il let you know!

iv seen MVP come up alot on this forum! are they good?? i mentioned suprastore a few days ago and were told not to touch them with a barge pole, which was strange because i always thought they were a respectable co. MVP seem well priced! but is shipping and import a fortune?? plus how do you pay import tax? (iv never imported anything before)

if i had £10 - £20k to spend on a car it would have to be a TT supra with a shit load of mods! (coz thats the situation im in now!lol) other than that, someone has stolen my idea! and said an S4! my lil bro wants the 2.5TDI A4 estate with a chip (takes them to almost 400hp)

my mate (who is only 20, the rich git) has just sold his volvo C70 T5 which was running 460hp at the wheels, and was officioly the fastest volvo in the UK! hes got an S14 200SX but has desided to make it a track day car and has got an S4 which he is in the middle of doing the RS4 conversion on! its going to be amazing!

i like soarers tho come to think about it! i was going to get one for ages but there a nightmare to insure and get parts for! but for raraty you cant beet them! (it would have to be the 2.5 strait 6 twin turbo) rather than the V8 tho!

I think it’s a little boring this year! every year there are all nicely nicely until about 4 or 5 weeks in when they just flip out and kick off where as there just arguing all the time!

my lil bros Girl friend works in a cafe, a woman had her bag stolen from the cafe about 3weeks ago the police were called within 5mins and they said we are sending someone strait over! they still havnt been yet! worst thing about it is that the police station is litteraly and i meen literaly 50yards away from the cafe! they couldnt even be botherd to walk across the road! and tony blare wonders why the youth of today are out of controle! its because hes to busy thinking of new ways to spy on us all,like fitting black box recorders to our cars so he knows where we are, when, and which speed and time we are traveling at! its a joke!

1.25 seconds that’s mad! My mates got a 1974 ford cortina! He did have an XR4x4 engine in it board out to 4.7 or summit with twin turbos and a super charger and NOZ built it himself totally! It was road legal and was a proven 720hp, and 58psi boost! He only paid £64 per year insurance on it too and that was fully comp, with everything declared! But he said it wasn’t fast enough! 0-60 in 2.8seconds! (which compared to that cali is slow but compared to a GSXr1000 is about the right going!) lol anyway last time I saw him, he was dropping that engine for an 11litter chavy big block with only rear wheel drive! he said he wanted to go a bit quicker and pop wheelies! day job??????? lawn mower repair man! insane! lol

Ill look in to the TRL unit too! I want to do loads of stuff to it! Got loads of grand designs but its best to aim high and see where you get I find! I am really tempted by the top secret wide body kit but my girl friend says if I spend £4500 on a kit she wants an X5! So its swings and roundabouts lol

Has anyone seen a video on the net called red line? It might be well known it might not be! Got a great tune playing in the background, and there are some well nice cars in it! That’s pretty much the reason why I want a supra lol saw it like 2 ½ years ago and fell in love!

very very nice! i love a little cross usage of parts on cars and aston breaks will be a very tidy feature on a skyline!

im proude to say that TVR changed there parts ordering scheme just because of me! i got ahold of a set of TVR Tuscan speed 6 mufflers (carbon and chrome things) and not in a sly way wanderd in to the parts dept and orderd them up! and they didnt like it at all! so now if you want a TVR part you must have the chasis no. of your car! and although i hate people who mix there themes like jap style kits on vauxhall novas and 5" slash cut exhausts on ford fiestas my british exhausts did look more than cool on an MR2!

i saw one of these on fensport last night for £95 lol probably not the best in the world tho im guessing! now hold on im going to go a bit techie!! lol these are the thing s that when you hit the rev limmiter make a VERY nice kinda popping / banging noice is that right??? or is that just what all TTs do at the top end of the revs? im not soooooo worried about the jump in power im not under any delusions about my driving skills im not a good driver (because i dont think there is such a thing as a good 21 year old driver! imo) this asside i do considder my self to be above average! so i will be taking it easy at first, just to get used to the car! plus i think im going to hang fire and get one around march or april time next year so im not trying to cope with 300+hp in the snow! thanks for the BCC advice!

the one about passing an MOT! be VERY cairfull! when i went to pick up my MR2 the guy told me that the sensor on the handbreak had broke so the handbreak warning light was stuck on! as i was only 17 and was a FOOL i belived him! got home my dad took it round the block, came home twated me accross the top of the head and toped my break fluid up! the guy had been driving the car for almost 6months with no break fluid! and it had a brand new MOT on it! so check the fluids and the pads and disks coz nothing, NOTHING is more important than the brakes! + be carefull with the tyres! after razzing the shit out of the car i.e. hitting almost 150mph on a down hill stretch of road (yes it needed to be down hill) i found my tyres were retreads and were rated at no more than 90mph! i should have died 100times over in that car!

anyway to get back on track! there are morrons out there that will fit almost anything as long as its cheep! be cairfull!

PS i have never tryed to match my down hill high speed run i have learned and calmed down behind the wheel!

but still although you would be a bit of an annorack, if you could say "yeah iv turned the boost right down so im only getting 788bhp" you would feel pritty good! and every 10year old boy would love your car! but the ladys probably wouldnt!

you are probably going to be sick of me by the time i get round to getting a supra, but when getting a new car i like to know as much as possable about what im buying, and at the moment i know vertualy nothing so im running stuff by you lot (if you dont mind) coz you all seem to know shit loads, plus are nice enough to pass on your knowledge!

im looking around at mods at the moment and im having a look at suprastore! there lowest stage tune up is the BPU kit! And works out at around £750 and says it will take the power up to 460hp, now i realise that this is more-than-likely to be at the crank, but i was told on here the other day that you are looking at around £1000 to take a TT up to 400hp so i think this is the right kinda kit to do that!??? plus although i do drive a rear wheel drive car at the moment, its only an MR2 and it sertainly isnt 400hp so i dont think i should go much higher to quickly! it seems to just consist of exhaust, boost controler and a thing called a "GReddy BCC" what is a BCC? is it an airfilter, or what? i have no idea!

also have anyone delt with suprastore? are they good? i know iv got loads of parts from fensport for my toyota now and i trust them! and they came through recomendation, but im always sceptical about co's. in the US that iv never delt with although i belive they have a good rep!

lol chears! although iv just read on a differant thread! that from wing mirror to wing mirror supras are 77" so i think the 67" one will be ok on a non wide body! the vailside wing shouldnt be far off that in that case! ????

as 3000GT says its the top secret, well at least the front bumper is for defanate not sure about the rest the skirts look vailside but they may be part of the top secret kit!

chris aka fonz... i like the vailside wing! its huge but it works! best angle is from right in front! i have a couple of pics of daves supra following me up the motorway from donny last year andn the whole car looks HUGE because of that wing! could you do me a favor tho???? how wide is it? iv seen a couple of wings that i like in america theres a couple of 55" a 59.5" and a massive 67" (which i think will be to go with a wide body kit) i know thats about as big as i would go on a non wide body and i just wonderd how big it actualy was!
