Was it that one Ryan posted up that had been installed in an auto MR2? If so then the one that Ryan was talking about as far as I can see will only control the NA auto's as these only have 3 solenoids and manual line pressure control.
This is no use to the TT's auto's as these boxes have 5 solenoids and the line pressure is controlled electronically
This unit will only work with the non vvti TT autobox (I think the vvti models came with tiptronic as standard anyway) The nice thing with this unit is that you can change every parameter that can be changed of the box, from how hard it shifts to how fast it shifts, what speed you want it to automatically change down or what speed you want it to change up. The unit also does something called full manual which means the box will do as its told (no shift profiles for engine or gearbox protection), i.e if you wanted to change from 4th (od) to 1st it will try and do it although I would not recommend that of course lol.
The unit also has semi auto mode, this means it will keep shift profiles (which you can adjust to how you like it, hard, fast etc) as in normal operation however you have control via the paddles, if for instance you downshift and you are going too fast for the gear selected then it won't let you change down until it reaches the correct speed. Again all of these profiles can be adjusted via the software to suit your own style.
You can also program a pushbutton for "dyno" mode, this locks up the box on the 1:1 ratio gear (which I can't remember) so you can put the car on a dyno and get an accurate bhp/torque reading.
Of course finally you have standard auto mode which can again be adjusted to be as hard and fast as you want but the paddles will be switched off.
You can also program an external pushbutton to select between two shift tables, so perhaps one for the road and one for race/spirited drive etc.
You can do pretty much anything that's possible to do with the autobox with this unit..
