wanted DC2 Rolling shell (Champ White no rust)
ManwithSupra replied to ManwithSupra's topic in Other Items
Cheers mate -
Lol love the fact he says high quality... If I had to spend money on audio I would go on a nice set of B&W CM9 S2 in gloss black. Would be long awaited nice addition to my home Audio

Hi There, I know it may be rare sight asking for Integra DC2's on this forum but you may know someone that can help.. I am looking for a DC2 rolling shell in champ white with little or no rust (well rust that can be sorted). I need to reshell my wifes DC2 as hers has too much tin worm to sort and a reshell is a better option. If anyone knows of a good shell please let me know, I will consider non rolling but rolling shells would be better for me as I can pick them up on my trailer. Cheers Richard...

Painful to see https://scontent.flhr4-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/18518219_1529050717126400_3180459336207678294_o.jpg?oh=4f77a127445aa92668cbe3bebdfcdc69&oe=59B0433B https://scontent.flhr4-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/18491791_1529050857126386_3355691800610599836_o.jpg?oh=0d4bd11438126d70e4dab7656b17e9be&oe=59BB5793 https://scontent.flhr4-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/18620594_1529051163793022_563577881300839167_o.jpg?oh=3ac52d59f19570e2115ee61b7aa93331&oe=59BE6749 https://scontent.flhr4-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/18556642_1529051343793004_8553930487205169697_o.jpg?oh=ac5197bbc54616094c200c349c20ff7e&oe=59BF1B53

Any idea what caused the fire? I'm surprised they didn't seem to have a fire suppression system... it being an explosive environment.

Looks like it got a bit warm....

Never knew the bonnet had a Scope on UK spec cars??? Perhaps a submarine feature we didnt know? Or maybe a sniper feature!!
-
LOL, nah.

We are currently working on something like that as well, however something a little more sturdy and quicker than those cable driven worm drive actuators. I cant imagine ours being $4k either - wow.
-
Indeed it did also it has been 3D Scanned for CFD.

For a rear diffuser to work you also need a flat floor. Otherwise they act like parachutes. This is my racing Supra but with the entire center inspection plate taken off.

What is the actual reason you are considering Ti? I mean apart from the weight... thats it... Are you going to be racing your car or just stating you have a Ti Exhaust for bragging rights. TBH, Bragging rights about a Ti exhaust will be lost on most people, some will be impressed (although not sure why) and the other lot (like me) will be like.. "so do you race it"? Iconel would probably not be cost effective for an entire exhaust, that is if you find someone willing to actually make you one. It has pretty much the same weight properties vs SS, however due to its heat and fatigue resistance means you can have thinner walls on the tubing which means saving weight overall bringing it close to Ti in terms of weight. Its Ideally suited to Exhaust manifolds though.. hence why F1 only use Iconel for that.
-
"Is the titanium as durable to bangs and scrapes as a stainless exhaust?" - Nope, Titanium is brittle compared to SS, more likely to crack then dent. The only real reason to go full Ti, is weight saving. It is also very heat and corrosion resistant but as with all things... lighter = expensive. Some could argue the sound is nicer on a Ti exhaust... but that depends on a number of things.

That sounds terrible I think the advice goes for all Carbon fibre or FG based seats not just these tillett units. That said the tillet FIA approved seats are vastly different to the non FIA approved seats. The backs are much thicker and reinforced as well as the seat lower is wider and again thicker. Im not trying to discount what happened to your mate, but these are not made on the cheap. IIRC both ended up costing me over a grand each once you bought all the FIA approved hardware too.

I have the same seats in my Supra, but they are FIA approved. They are also a bit heavier because of this.

I would be concerned buying anything brake wise on eBay, especially when they are much cheaper "branded" items like AP or Brembo. If you are going for a BBK, go with a company who actually deals with the manufacturer or the actual manufacturer itself, not a Chinese copycat wanting to make a quick buck without any regard to quality management or materials used or ultimately your safety. There is a reason why AP and Brembo are expensive and that's because they are proven items, properly built and fit for purpose, using the brand name to sell cheaper Chinese copies to make high ££££'s margins at the risk of inferior materials, processes etc is just playing with fire. You also have to ask the question, if the brakes are any good and of good construction, why did they not come up with their own name instead of copying someone else. That rings alarm bells right there.

Well I also had a number of people direct messaging me similar stuff when I put up the just giving page for Billy on my company social media pages. Whilst the outpouring of support from over 17.5k people is indeed a wonderful gesture to Billy, you are always going to get people who raise the "why is he so special" question, and again there is nothing wrong with that argument, however I like to put my point across as to why I think its the case.
-
But then you could say the same thing about every just giving page/charity etc. Why should people donate to them and not someone else? What makes them or that charity better than another? People only donate as it touches a particular cord with them.. personally, either based on what they know, their fears and their insecurities about themselves. Why on earth do you have the "story" section on the Just giving site, its to try and make you hit a cord and donate. Same thing with any reality TV show, or stupid program like Xfactor or BGT, there is a "Story" to make you support that person.. if it plucks a heart string. Again same thing with Charity adverts, lets show some starving kids to make you send money. You see my point? You are not missing anything, this just didnt pull a string because of the reasons you stated, which is fair enough... Everyone is entitled to their own opinion etc.

Looks fantastic... would be interested to see how well it handles. I wonder if it would be possible to play around with the chassis to make a pushrod suspension setup? and maybe a v8....

Getting a payment from Malaysia? He wants my Passport info??
ManwithSupra replied to ManwithSupra's topic in Off Topic
Thats reassuring to know, I must admit I was aprehensive about sending the passport number. I "trust" the guy in as much as I have done business with him before and the way he was paying before meant massive fees for him, so I understand why he is going this route as its cheaper for him. Still, with all the dishonestly in the world you have to check some things. I did read something on the Gov website about this being a outside EU regulation thing to protect against money laundering. Its so if its investigated the Mal goverment have contacts at both ends to follow any leads. I just wanted someone to backup what I read and was told by him, so thanks Chris - legend once again - - - Updated - - - Ah cool cheers -
Its early days, the three are starting to Gel together slowly. I really don't like Rory... he is just way to false, he hasn't changed since the days of his failed YouTube channels. Happy that Chris is getting more screen time, Matt... as much as is getting into the role and looking more comfortable ..he's American so I don't think it works on a UK show personally. The Celeb thing, I think its far too drawn out, I don't think the Celebs are briefed as to what they are actually doing, there is quite a lot of awkwardness surrounding those bits. Chris acting like a complete twat in the car as instructor is plain stupid, its put on and unnecessary, when I done a few of days of professional race tuition with a driving coach I would have told him to do one if he spoke to me like that, shouting at people isn't the way to teach even if it is fake. That said I have enjoyed the last few episodes.

So this £20 a day city charge is only going to effect Euro 4 or lower, i.e
