  1. Its running a 1.1bar pressure cap on the rad and apart from that it is indeed a sealed system (Header tank does not have a pressure relief cap on it or open atmosphere vent). I must admit I was a little confused on why the header tank does not have a relief valve or cap when I bought the car, that said though I didn't think to question it at the time.
  2. Yeah I meant header tank lol I wouldn't say its in the stock location as I have a V-Mount setup, I used a block tester, you know the fluid that goes from blue to yellow in the presence of CO2.
  3. Yeah that's a fair point. I did suspect at somepoint something like this happening just not so early on lol.
  4. Cheers for everyone's kind words, I know this is all part of having a track car as hardcore as this but I didn't suspect having a potential HG or cracked head issue etc so early on as so many supras run the same power I do without any issues at all.
  5. No not watercooled which is a shame otherwise it could of been that, yeah will do leak down and compression at some point.
  6. Got some bad news I am afraid...In addition to the rear vibration issue I found on the way back from the track, I noticed the expansion tank had a lot of pressure in it (visually the Ali tank is swollen too) did a coolant sniff test and it confirms that there are exhaust gases in the coolant Looking back at the logs the car has never overheated (temps were always around the 90'c on track and peaked at 96'c) and oil pressure has never dropped, there is no sign of water in the oil (white gunking) and there is no oil residue in the coolant, the engine starts and runs fine and there is no indication so this has come as a surprise that it failed on the sniff test. I am a little gutted to be honest Now don't get me wrong I don't mind doing the work to get the car back up and running (Although it will be pain to do as the engine will most likely need to be removed to do it due to it being so far back) but to be honest we are just getting into the track season and only been out on track twice this year so its a bit of a disappointment that I had these issues already and on components that very rarely fail on a 600bhp Single Supra Makes me think I should have stuck to my guns when I was looking to change my Original Supra and got a Ultima GTR, Radical or a Noble instead Still I am sure (well I know) those have their niggles too. Probably feel like that cos I am a bit disappointed... :( I am not really sure why I posted this really either maybe I am just a little it too gutted and wanted to share it with you to get a bit of encouragement.
  7. Hi All, After removing my propshaft the other day I need to remove the rubber donut before I send it off for checking but it wont seem to come off. Does anyone have any suggestions? tips/tricks. https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/954684_473345536073428_395543248_n.jpg
  8. Sounds Lovely I have been thinking about getting a Pop and Bang map on mine - although it does do it a little on track on overrun
  9. How much dude, and I can be a real pain and ask the weight
  10. Continental Sport Contact 5p I found were to be amazing.
  11. This.. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?291148-**Video-Added**-Major-Vibration-from-rear-over-25mph-(V160-with-Auto-LSD) I am not sure they would be related..
  12. Comon guys stop arguing on my thread I appreciate the info from both of you now now... Can anyone help with my recent discoveries especially surrounding the diff Oil question?
  13. Actually what gear oil should I be using on a TRD Diff?? I must admit its news to me that it has a TRD Diff (I missed the fact that it is on the build thread) when I bought it off Ryan he only mentioned it was an Auto LSD which I then assumed it was a stock Auto LSD and not a TRD Diff. I am running Millers Oils CRX LS 75w-90 NT Competition full synthetic Oil which I now suspect is wrong for this Diff. Which now makes me think the issues I recently had could be down to me using the wrong oil and now potentially stuffing the diff... Arghhhhh.
  14. OK, Looking at that spreadsheet and using my telemetry data (Speed vs Gear vs RPM) and taking into account Tyre size, wheel size rpm limits etc It does not look like I have an Auto LSD at all but a NA Auto Diff.... erm.... But looking back on Ryan's build thread It states that the car was installed with a TRD LSD. Do you think that it would be a NA Auto Ring gear on a TRD Diff?? - I suppose it must be! http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?170424-Supra-Track-Car-Project&p=2310146&viewfull=1#post2310146 Confused!!
  15. Actually don't worry about that question you just divide it lol I should have known that haha
  16. Ah cheers mate, I thought so I just wanted to double check So how is Ratio worked out, how do you get to 4.273 by counting teeth?
  17. I am not as clued up as I could be about Diff Ratio's etc. What defines a Diff Ratio, I assume its just the Ring Gear and Crown Pinion or is it a combination of the Ring Gear, Crown Pinion and internal gubbins on the Diff? I am maybe looking at changing my diff but I would like to keep the stock Auto LSD Ratio really as the Auto LSD Diff with a V160 really suits the track well. Cheers peeps Potential issue found...see this post
  18. That ad shouts Scam all over it.
  19. I really don't like my current polished knob.. its a heavy beast, was going to go to stock but that would look out of place on my car. I would be up for a lightweight Ali one...
  20. I remember reading recently that Toyota black FIPG Part number 00295-00103 is used - I think. I bookmarked the following as I need to inspect my Diff as well. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-TOYOTA-SEAL-PACKING-102-FIPG-82G-00295-00103-FOR-OIL-PAN-CAMSHAFT-HOUSING-/180963549083 Best get another opinion Just in case.
